Croatia, the football team that has a country attached to it. Or you might know it as the wall that stops Bosnia from touching the ocean. But whatever you might think of Croatia, you can’t deny that it’s got a pretty sweet passport. This version in front of you is the first generation, issued from 1991, the year Croatian gained independence, until 1999.

HTZ stands for "Hrvatski Tiskarski Zavod" - Croatian Printing Institute, the company that produces the passports

That's the answer I'm looking for, thank you for the info!
That croatian passport had all the possibilities to be very stylish, unfortunately they had not much resources to invest in it at the time. More artwork in the pages, stateents, etc.
I see you are dropping hints for the next video👀👀

It's a crown made of coat of arms, but yeah kinda looks a bit like pineapple. Oh yeah the newest passport is much more interesting. Every page has some famous art/architecture one the right page, and on the left map of Croatia with location of that art/architecture.

However: Italy adopted the paper cover in 1988 (or around that year) when we switched from green passports with hard cover to burgundi paper. I don't understand why now, since we have passports with biometric chips, the cover is in paper rather than in other hard material like in the past. It would be more durable and reliable. Of course it would cost more. Now for us is 116,5 euros. Don't know if it is an average price or not, in comparison to other EU countries.
