On my day job as an immigration consultant, I help people in moving to another country.
And a lot of my clients will waver between Australia and Canada.
The two countries are equally popular amongst potential immigrants.
What they often find out, is that getting permanent residency or citizenship in Australia is significantly harder than in Canada.
As a person who grew up in Australia and now lives in Canada… I think I know exactly why Canada is more inclusive and open towards newcomers but immigration to Australia is difficult.
In this video, I'll tell you which country is better, especially for skilled migrants, students, workers, and investors. Hopefully this will help you choose between Canada and Australia.

In fact, when was a kid in 2000s, everybody said Australia and Canada were both to easy for immigration. However, in 2020s, your idea is true and everybody around me will agree with you.

it's also easy for kids born in Canada to get citizenship. While Australia needs you to get permanent residency in order for your child that was born in Australia to be a Australian citizen. (as if the parents got permanent residency before then)

Great content but you live in Canada and you haven't made a passport video about Canada yet? Please make one especially highlighting how they have hidden images under UV light.

The Australian passport is actually more expensive than the Canadian one. The worth between having to choose between freedom of movement with NZ or visa-free without needing for ESTA on going to the US... I honestly would choose both.. But it varies on which one I want to go to.

How about a EU passport which opens you up to the EU markets? Countries like Germany are going to make it easier to get citizenship for foreigners.

@@matthiasek that too. EU passports are also worth it, but Brexit has demonstrated that EU citizenship can be expired if the gov of such country left the EU.

By the way, because of Hong Kong protest, two countries have special programs for hongkonger, but compared with two programs, Canada is still easier than Australia for immigration

The so-called 'lifeboat' plan by Australia is a glorified student visa scheme whereas the Canadian Hong Kong Youth Talent program is a legitimate fast-track immigration program. I ran an experiment and found that, on average, it would take 6 years for a qualifying person to get his PR visa in Australia following the scheme. If he go thru the Canadian program, he would have already gotten his Canadian passport by that time.

I would not choose any of them, becuase of covid restrictions. Australia is foolish in this regard. For Canada I think that you have to be vaccinated in order to move there. I know that even for turism Canada accepts only vaccinated people, so yeah, any of them.

I'm in Australia... Both countries are very generous when it comes to immigration... Compare them against large nations such as China and Russia, Japan and Korea, they take in very few migrants at all...in fact you will be lucky to be able to even open a bank account in them

The USA is the best of both worlds with the most opportunities and choices but between Canada and Australia, the former is a better choice because of its proximity to the U.S. Many immigrants use Canada as a stepping stone into the U.S. Here is a very educational video made by an Aussie economist about the wealth, power and influence of the USA: kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKeVvNClXdm9qbQ.html
