One of the largest and richest imperial houses in the world, the house of the Romanovs, existed for 300 years and in just a year sank into the abyss along with the Russian Empire. Nicholas II, his wife, and children were executed by the Bolsheviks. But many others managed to escape from Russia, and what happened to them is worth a series, which hasn't been filmed yet.
In this episode of HOW IT WAS, we will tell you about the fate of the Romanov family in exile. You will find out why George V did not want to rescue the imperial family from execution, how the grand dukes and princesses turned into taxi drivers and music hall artists, and how Rasputin's killer Felix Yusupov and his wife, Princess Irina, niece of Nicholas II, influenced European fashion. And finally, what the Romanov dynasty looks like today, which of the Romanov descendants consider themselves the heir to the throne, and why the misfortunes they experienced did not unite but only set the remnants of the royal house at odds.

This isn't "how it was". King George and Tsar Nicholas were cousins, not brothers. Someone alluded to this in the comments a year ago, which gave you plenty of time to fix this error.

It would have been up to the British government not the King to give sanctuary to the Czar and his family
