- Viper Kadachi kinda just went missing but yes he obviously exists and is a subspecies of the Tobi Kadachi Genus.

I wish your video would have mentioned Akantor and Ukanlos as creatures that blur the line between standard wyverns and Fanged wyverns, a sort of bridge between the two groups. EDIT: After all, those two giants are four-legged, with strong front limbs, a tail and are flightless.

as Much I like to say that we need to know more tbh. Zingore's are more like wandering shoguns exploring the landscape. Misty Peaks was its throne, it's home. I wonder if Zingore's actually use Raths like how wolves would use crows and ravens for food or even a good fight. We see Jinouga (original name) observing the skies in portable 3rd when he sees the elder dragon Amatsumagatsuchi, he wants to challange the elder dragon, he glows and tries to get it's attention but the elder dragon continues. I hope in wilds we get to see more behavior patterns that reflect this, because to me like how Devilijo is the devourer, Jinouga is the Challanger. A wandering samurai wanting to test himself and his blade against any welcoming challanger. I can go on sorry.

I love the semi-scientific classification system Monster Hunter and its fandom has developed. They may even have real-life parallels. The Fanged Wyverns are basically the synapsids, or "mammal-like dinosaurs". In our world, the survivors after the end of the Permian period - at which point they were replaced by the therapsids, or true dinosaurs - eventually evolved into mammals. Meanwhile, the Fanged Wyverns are synapsids that never went extinct, and ended up leaning further into being like mammals without actually becoming them. It seems like most of them evolved in a manner similar to wolves - whether it be the Thief Wyverns' pack structure or Zinogre & Lunagaron's overall appearance and love of howling. Magnamalo is the only one we know of that went the "cat" route. Also, I realized why Lunagaron can appear in any environment in Rise except the Lava Caverns and Sandy Plains - it requires at least some degree of airborne moisture to live comfortably - the hotter the environment, the more moisture it needs to stay there. The Jungle, being a jungle, has plenty of moisture for Lunagaron to breathe in and cool itself with in spite of the heat. But the Sandy Plains is a hot, arid place, so it has little if any airborne moisture for Lunagaron to use. One COULD make an argument for Lunagaron being able to hang out in the watery areas of the Lava Caverns, as you can find Tetranadon, the spongy Ludroths and the cave-loving Khezu there. But I suspect there are way too many fire-wielding competitors for its comfort, especially the Raknas, Teostra and Magma Almudron.

Personally I would like to see Zinogre, Magnamalo and Girros alongside Akantor and Ukanlos being put in its own group together, as they have sprawling leg morphology rather then erect leg morphology that the other members of the fanged wyvern suborder have. I do also want pseudo flying wyvern to became a group as well, but I do think Akantor and Ukanlos are likely not in this group and fit the hypothetical sprawling fanged wyvern group instead. Also thank you for having custom subtitles, videos like this with scientific terms are some of the few that autogenerated subtitles aren't the best for.

8:50 Are you not listing subspecies anymore? In the Brute W. Video, you also left out the Raging Brachydios in your script, which is weird since you've included every subspecies, variant and whatnot for all monsters. Sorry, I just find it a bit jarring.

You must be thinking of the main documentary series. In the Phylogeny series, I have always skimmed over Monster Variations since a) variants/deviants/apexes do not matter to a phylogeny as they are generally assumed to not be genetically distinct and b) listing subspecies would be redundant as they are just in the same slot as the Genus. I generally just show subspecies interspersed in the footage, which is also the case here (except Viper Tobi, I just outright forgot him and will add him in the Compilation release).

It’s funny that you give attention to all of the fanged wyvern‘s except the Viper Tobi-Kadachi. To me it kind of implies that you don’t like him. otherwise you would talk about it. but to be fair, I don’t know you so I can’t be 100% sure however I feel confident in my claim. Me personally I think he’s fine but i’m somebody who appreciates definitive order. If you would have mentioned the Viper Tobi-Kadachi the same way you did with odogaron, zinogre & magnamalo this would have been perfect but instead it’s just really good. 8 out of 10 video ecology for me.

In my opinion, Magnamalo is the only bad flagship monster, and I hope they leave him away from the main series, he looks so unrealistic (between the bounds of MH) and Frontierlike, I also disllike Almudron and Somnacanth for the same reasons, I could maybe give a second chance to Somnacanth since it is the least unrealistic of them. And although I believe that Valstrax looks cool, I also dislike it being a part of the MH roster, it is just too out there, it just brings back my disbelief when I see his rockets, is just too much. It kinda happens the same with the Charge blade, my mind hardly accepted the switch axe and then they came up with the charge blade which is even more unrealistic (again, even between the bounds of the fantasy world of MH). I hope the new main MH title brings the franchise back to earth.

Are you shitting me? Did you start with world or what? Realism is out of the question when literally elder dragons are a thing in this game. You don’t bat an eye at Kirin whom literally teleports, same with Malzeno, you have the entire black dragon trio, you have a giant snake the size of a mountain, but somehow the line is crossed with only a handful of designs that you cherry pick as “unrealistic”. “Frontierlike” good lord let’s keep you away from the franchise instead. Almudron looks more unrealistic than something like Zinogre or Brachydios???? Nobody on Capcom cares about your suspension of disbelief especially when you as the hunter can survive a 100m fall without damage. This game series is clearly not for you when you want to bitch and moan about realism. Your definition of out of bounds of the mh franchise is all bullshit. Valstrax is just as grounded as Xenojiva. What a load of crap. You want something more down to earth, go back to base World. The fantasy’s designs are what makes it unique.

@@RSA91There are relatives. If you look at their beak structure along with tailwings, similar behaviour, hornstructure, scaleshape, and their enraged metamorph ability, you can see some resemblance. They're probably related in a similar way that dromeosaurs and birds are related.
