The Dramatic Downfall of Voyboy

Ойындар

Voyboy's drama with Hashinshin unraveled a nearly decade-long content creation career from the legendary Kid. Prior to his drama, Voyboy was beloved by many in the League of Legends community for his time as a pro player and entertaining content creator. After disappearing from KZread due to constant harassment and bullying, Voyboy has not returned to the platform whatsoever. Welcome to LoLAthlete, this is the Dramatic Downfall of Voyboy.
Thank you (yes you specifically brother) for watching :)

I remember when i used to follow VB's social media around 2014: a guy in the comments politely stated that VB's girlfriend, in the picture with him, was very beautiful, and she really was. And then VB replied completely demolishing this guy saying that he's a loser for complimenting other people's girlfriend and stuff like that and then banning him. It was COMPLETELY uncalled for. cookie is a...different case i suppose? the evidence is honestly worse, i think his mods had like...90 pages of discord messages right? thats an insane amount. not to mention that he had the league hentai patreon thing goin on (which i believe is still going on) but before the drama he was WAY more likeable, sure he had beef with some people but hashinshin just...rubbed most of the community the wrong way. so when he got called out for it he got cancelled pretty fast, esp. when voyboy/yassuo tried to white knight for the supposed "victims" (and yes, anything he may or may not have done was disproved by the FBI but is still fairly creepy by most normal standards, but ive heard he's just..doin better now regardless, its over and done) far as i know, cookie never got investigated by the feds (mostly cuz he is in EU isnt he, do they have an equivalent that twitch would be aware of?) so the instant need for twitch to deal with it isnt as...necessary in their eyes. but they definitely arent the best decision makers, as we've seen in recent weeks especially. also gotta keep in mind that as creepy as it is for normal people, this is the internet, there's probably still females that watch him and consider him daddy material, etc etc, and guys who dont care about that because he's an entertaining and educational streamer in their eyes. but the more popular a streamer you are the more youre gonna have issues like this that WILL come to light if you dont watch what you say/send. its best to just keep streaming personas/lives and real ones seperate.

I dont get it, if his name was cleared and proven innocent, why is he still banned? Is it another next level twich shit i cant understand? I really liked the audacity when he said he cant handle the hate (after accusing someone twice of being a pedo, and also to this, hash was an even bigger moron for now suing him for false accusations) when he literally destroyed someones future as a league streamer. He deserved all of it, sadly he has enough money to sit on for a few years, but he will return, once he needs some cash

its like actors who get involved in scandals but are cleared for false evidence or lack of anything substantial. even if theyre free of guilt at that point (whether theyre actually guilty or not, evidence doesnt show the entire narrative most times) theyll have a hard time resuming their normal streaming/acting careers, especially for a big corporation like twitch. better to just keep em banned than possibly risk another possible scandal involving someone. as for voyboy...he's had his fair share of drama, some self caused, some caused by things outside of his own actions (he had an ex posting pornhub behind his back or something?) but i do genuinely believe that he THOUGHT he was doing the right thing. he wasnt, he was using his larger platform to destroy someone's livelihood that was not convicted and villianized by people who just disliked him, and even i sent him an email stating that while his intentions may be good...he's going about it the wrong way and he's gonna end up in the firing line. he actually replied and thanked me for the concern but he knew what he was doing and was genuinely convinced that what he was doing was right and that monsters like hashinshin need to be taken down. it was around that time i stopped looking at his content, but ofc it was right around that time he also kinda quit league/content creation until the last few weeks. he definitely got more hate than he probably deserved as well, death threats and doxing are not okay even if he was in the wrong...but he also should have been the better person and apologized instead of doubling up on his evidence.

I wouldn't say Hash is a moron for not suing him. He's said on a few occasions that he didn't because VoyBoy and Moe have a shit ton of money and a team of lawyers on standby. Hash had almost no money due to his Ex gaslighting him and stealing all of it. He even had to move in with his parents for awhile. He couldn't afford a lawyer and even if he got a free one, he couldn't financially or mentally afford to be in court for however many years to successfully sue him. Now, he's over it and is in a far better mental/financial state. Sure his career could have went way further if this didn't happen, but he's far better off after surviving several years of stress

Technically speaking, Twitch is a private company and can pick and choose who they allow on their platform. If they believe that hashinshin engaged in conduct that was against their Terms of Service or outright illegal under US law, they can ban him. Even though it turns out those accusations were largely false, they can still choose to not have him on their service.

I was actually a fan of Voyboy for a while, even supported him when he brought up the toxicity of LoL cause it was the sole reason I had quit playing the game the year prior, honestly I hoped Voyboy with his voice could actually spread the word enough to get Riot to actually punish the rampant toxicity. But the fact he decided to go after Hashinshin instead? I mean I'll admit, I didn't like Hash, I hated he was known as the main streamer for my main champion, Aatrox, and when Voyboy went after him I just accepted it as the truth, "guess Hash was a predator, good riddance!" When Hash came back, after like a year or something of being investigated for the claims, and he had ACTUAL proof that Voyboy had apparently just amplified a vindictive ex of Hash's that was out to destroy him by spreading lies with the help of her friends, and then Voyboy doubled down and called the most inconclusive evidence "irrefutable," it really just pointed out he was trying far too hard to be "the good guy," but he created a villain for himself in order to do so. Like I said, I never liked Hash, but destroying his career and livelihood over false accusations made by people completely separated from Voyboy himself was just so scummy, on top of that he just kept playing this game he said "was too toxic to play" and stopped bringing it up, seemingly letting that stance die as he went after Hash instead, which made the original stance appear very disingenuous as well. I just gave up on him, had no idea he even made a video saying he was taking a break, I literally forgot he existed until I saw the title of this video lol

Karma's a btch. He just had to not stick his nose where it didn't belong. Hashinshin's case was too serious for him to just assume he's guilty, blindly take the female's side and getting his then MASSIVE audience to harass Hash. I was always a Voy fan and couldn't stand Hashinshin, so this is not me defending Hashinshin as a blind fan or anything like that, it's quite the opposite. But Voy just wanted to be the moral compass of the league community and made horrible mistakes in doing so. What he did to Hashinshin was serious and could've led to bad things, to this day he has to deal with that. Voy getting it back just makes it fair. Hashinshin is still streaming, Voy (who was the one who took the first shot) couldn't handle it. Tough sht.

The only thing that I think is regrettable that Voyboy although he always seemed like a kind and empathic person. He was majorly toxic about his pride. First the standing with the victim's video without hearing the other side out. Then a year later trying to clear his name as if he were this unfailable person with a golden tongue and brain and basically reigniting a died-down drama just because he didn´t want to sully his Biography. And even after being cleared by Authorities, he didn´t have it in him to accept, take it back and apologize to be an enabler of a witchhunt he didn´t even have to be a part of. Don´t know if it's an inflated ego or a god complex. But I always disliked his high IQ presentation and although it seemed like a funny character, it´s hard to tell if that didn´t slowly become what he actually thought about himself. Seemed like he always relied on the halo being granted by the community and when that went south he just quit. Projection his own mistakes on others (although no one deserves harassment). He could have just take accountability and slowly people would have vanished that had an issue with him. But he took it to the grave. So at the end it´s just better. If someone cannot see his own wrongdoings and owns up to them it´s better he isn´t a part of the community anymore. Especially considering he tried to sell the good guy narrative to everyone.

The outrage at someone trying to be the best person they can be is honestly astonishing. I'm not saying he's infallible, but imo what he did should be given respect. He took a risk and apparently a fall in many people's eyes to try to protect people. Just because Hashinshin is not in prison does not mean he was cleared of all wrong doing by the FBI. The wrong doing was ridiculously clear.

@blink1829015 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” Serves him right! Don't judge others if you don't really know the full story. Basic human decency regardless if you are religious or not. More or less all cultures from Africa to Asia have similar saying. Yet someone forgot to teach that "Voyboy" how to be a proper man. Nothing "respectable" about his actions. At best he was trying to virtue signal to boost his ego and ended up looking like a fool as it always happens. I personally never liked him yet i've never made a negative comment about him until this drama came out. Not that i'm an exceptional person myself i was privileged to have family that thought me better. What should be given respect for example is helping others without expecting anything in return and by helping i mean actually helping and giving away your time or resources rather than cheap words. Kind words are also good but you should give them directly to the person not over the internet so everyone else "can see how great person you are". If you are actually a good person people will notice it themselves and say that about you themselves. People see trough such things easily. That's why nobody likes virtue signaling of any kind. As most who do it think themselves superior and smarter than everyone else therefore they will be able to deceive those around them into thinking that. But as i said people see trough that and once you make fool out of yourself they will rip on you until end of your days. In general if you don't really know much on any subject it's better to say nothing or when asked to simply honestly answer with i do not now.

@@abcdc197 What false witness are you talking about? There were clear, multiple, creepy sexual conversations with underage girls. It's not that hard to see what was going on there. Voyboy was provided the evidence by the girls and decided to DO something about it. He can't just contact every underage girl in the LoL scene and warn them personally. That's not possible. "Virtue signaling" as a term is essentially a twitter cliche. Yes, some bad people do put on a front as a do-gooder to mask their negative behavior/evil intent, but not everyone that makes a stand and says "this is not ok" is one of those people. What exactly has Voyboy been accused of doing to harm someone else? I absolutely respect what he did. The dark side of the internet is insanely cruel. I agree with your last paragraph for the most part. Smart people know what they don't know. It just doesn't apply here.

It's pretty embarrassing to put so much time and effort into something you have no business with, and being completely incorrect in front of hundreds of thousands of people. But the most disappointing part is that he didn't have the mental fortitude or even character to simply apologize for his mistakes. He runs from the accountability and plays victim. It's honestly extremely disappointing and embarrassing when he could have just said sorry.

I mean I wouldn't say it really killed Hashinshin's career. I'm not sure how popular (in terms of view count) he was before all of this, but he still is far from dead on youtube. He streams often and uploads video decently often as well, as well as having a variety channel.
