EXactly the opposite for me... the FD is better in just about every way, but I like the look of the FC so much more.

No wonder the Takahashi brothers chose these, these are truly no-nonsense, smooth as hell machines for real professionals. Love the whole idea.Since they could afford the high maintenance and fuel consumption they pretty much got all the good out of them.

I have an Turbo II. I didn't really like it and bought it just so I can learn on it to buy FD, my dream car later. But working on the FC I fell in love with it. FD is gorgeous, arguably the most beautiful car ever made. But the FC has the 80s looks. The fenders, the interior. The dashboard looks so much better than the FD one. The only dash I may like more would be the Lancia Delta Integrale one. I'm planning to buy an FD, I want to own one at least for a while in my life as it's my dream. But I think I'll never sell my FC.

LONG READ What I did on my FC is picked up a can of amsoil power foam. Disconnect the intake to access the throttle body. Open up the throttle plates and spray the entire can in. Then unplug your large under hood IGN fuse and EGI/EGI COMP fuse. This depowers the fuel pump and ignition coils. Crank the engine over a couple of times so the power foam coats all three rotor faces. Let it sit overnight, plug your fuses back in, and start it up. Let all the foam burn off (do it outside!!) and then you should be good to go. Redline it every time you drive. My NA 13b that sat in a field for 15 years tested good compression afterwards 👍

Well, if you are gonna open the engine and rebuild it. You will have to scrub alot if you don't have access to some quality machines. I used a ultrasound machine, and then soaked the rotors and engine block parts in some transmission fluid. Then scrubbed the hell out of it with a non metal brush and it got them looking beautiful ! 👍🏽

To me the FD is the best looking car ever and more refined in terms of performance, but the FC is the most Iconic jdm car of the 80s imo which gives it it's own charm.

Both cars were good but I have to say that the FC has stood out on the design during that time

0:06 One of my brothers owns 2, identical yellow 79 RX7s (both restored and the VINs are something crazy like 9 digits apart) My other brother has a blue 85. I used to drive/own a silver 85, charcoal 83 and had at least 9 other RX7 parts cars. Even 2 of my coworkers ended up buying RX7s (back in the 90's)

I’ve never driven an rx7 or any cool cars besides a ‘12 camaro ss. My dream car is actually rose. I love the red. I love the body. The wheels you chose were perfect. I subscribed to this channel like 2 years ago and I knew I needed an rx7 I would like to own all of them but the fb is my favorite. I also drive a 99 Tacoma sr5 with a 5 speed manual. Video is a good explanation of the engine differences, however the chassis are also significantly different. The FC has struts up front and semi-trailing arms at the rear (with an extra link for camber control), and the body is kept to less than 1.7m wide to ensure eligibility for the lower rate of Japanese road tax - a similar package to an S13/S14 (240SX). The FD became a more expensive all-out performance car, with double wishbones all round, and is nearly three inches wider while being lower, shorter and a little lighter.

The s4 FC is such a sick 80s car and I love the little 90s bids in the s5 FC. The FD is one of the most beautiful looking cars ever made imo.

There is something just so beautiful about both. I can't justify modding the fd however. So I'm gonna buy an fc I also like the slightly more high driving position

@@joelstatosky1817 Yep. I totally gotta agree with you. FD RX-7s are so rare, stock form being even more rare. Just because it's a good tuner car doesn't mean we have to mod the crap out of every single one of them. We should start preserving as many stock FDs as we can. Plus, Mazda didn't produce over 200,000 FCs for nothing.

I'm a proud owner of a FD RX7. This is my second one. I've owned it since 2006. It's gone through many changes throughout the years, from twin turbo to single, 20b swapped and now RB26 swapped. I'm currently still I the process of the RB26 swap and can't wait to finish it, combining my car favorite body with my favorite engine. Great video.

I have my fc right now, and I love it more than anything. It’s my favorite car I’ve driven but to be fair I’ve only driven ST’s, BRZ’s, and a Taycan. I’m hoping to get an FD one day but I will never get rid of this FC.

I had an '88 Turbo II. Great car. Fun, and fast. With HKS exhaust, and a high-flow intake, I ran a 14.2 quarter mile. Killed so many Mustangs it was a blast. A few months later I put a boost controller on it and destroyed it. :( Should have been happy with what I had in the early 90's. But this car could not compete with the twin turbo imports and the LT1 GM F-body's of the era, which is why I ended up detonating it with a boost controller, sadly.

I am just a rotard so I love them all. I can only afford the Fd but if I could afford an Fc i would have a white turbo two. Ok ok rx3 rx4 and on and on. Lol Brap on

I want to buy one and I am really really rooting for the FD. Since prices have been going to the moon , I don't want to buy a car for 40k$ that I plan to spend10-20k for repairs and reliability mods on. And Because I want a rotary so bad I have 2 options. - Buy an FC for 7k$ - 15k+ $ or - Buy a Miata and put a rotary in it .... At this point idk what to do

Just buy an FC. They have such a good community behind them and not to mention a whole other drifting community as well. They are also extremely good first drift cars, just like 350Zs. And there are so many great parts for them by respected aftermarket tuners like RE Amemiya and Fujita Engineering (FEEDS). Plus, with an experienced tuner, you can easily get up to 350, 400, 450 or even 500hp. Plus, who would wanna rip out a Rotary from an RX-7?

fd is more expensive, fc will be cheaper, but is more likely to have been beat on since its a bit older. Ik this is a year old comment, but if you haven't gotten one yet hope this helps! If you have let us know what you got!
