One thing I never liked about his movies is that it seemed like he never got beat, scarcely even got hit. All the greats lost battles -- Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude, Sammo Hung, Bruce Lee -- to set themselves as the underdog and thus garner sympathy from the audience for them as "the hero," and to show their tenacity at not quitting until they win. Not losing any battles kind of made him seem like he was the bully, beating up on bad guys, no question, but the plot was lacking.

@@adrianchannelle8651 You know I remember I had the DVD of Blade 2 back in the day, and in the audio commentary by Wesley Snipes and Screenwriter David Goyer, I remember Snipes clearly mentioning Seagal never getting hit in his movies, and he said it made no sense.

He had some good action films in early 90s but his career has gone downhill since 2000s with all his direct to video low budget clunkers. I am a big fan of 80s and 90s action movies but his best movies were from Above The Law to Under Siege 2. Under Siege in 92 and Hard To Kill in 90 I felt were among his best. He is not the best actor of actors and if talking action stars, Stallone and Schwarzenegger are the best and even Bruce Willis earlier in his career.

Well, it doesn't get mentioned much because by the time Exit Wounds came out, he was already in the dtv phase of his career.

Hahahaha i was a kid when above the law was a legend... Nico was an icon... Last movie of his w. b. contract was fire down below... After that he made movies with other companies which were boring... Plus enemies were over... All that were left were clubbers and women exploiters...he ran out of bad people so became himself the worse.....drugs and sex partner changes are nowadays a norm... Nothing left to fight i guess...i think above the law out for justice and under sieges are so good that he could have retired with them...i dont see what more he wants...plus he should declare that he s proud to be american... And stop asking for love... We need to give love in order to get love back

Well Steven Seagal should be well on his way to the front lines in Ukraine now.

What made me why I don't like Steven Seagal ever more that the fact he always showing off that he is quote-unquote "Legit" action hero than other action stars like Stallone, Arnie, Chuck and JCVD and he beat crap out of everyone like a bully and done horrible things towards women and threaten other co-stars he starred in some of his films. Heck, he even disrespect the legend himself, Bruce Lee which I brought his iconic quote: "Showing off is the fool's idea of glory." Eat this words, Seagal.

Actually I don’t see the big problem. He’s no worse than other Hollywood freaks. At least he’s straight and has discipline.

Yeah I was actually watching Exit wounds one night and my my woman went into labor and I had to stop halfway through LOL. Just over 20 years ago. It's just crazy how he hasn't made a good movie sense really. It's kind of hard to believe but it happens I guess. Even Jean-Claude has been in a couple good movies here and there. Steven seagal is really lazy... and fat and that certainly doesn't help..

Exit Wounds was crap. His Magnum Opus was UNDER SIEGE. After that he had the crime thriller OUT FOR JUSTICE. Both of these films did well not because of Seagal but because of great directors and casting.
