I know this sounds kinda ridiculous but I cried during this video. It wasn't like wailing but a few tear drops. I'm not good with words and sometimes I've tried to explain to people what I'm experiencing is like. The best/ furthest I could go was "numb" or "blank". This is the first time I've ever heard that feeling's manifestation in actually words. It's the first time I've actually heard what it feels like. I guess I was..... shocked? Hearing what it's like in actually words, it felt as if a bunch of bottled up emotions/feelings/experiences was heaved off my chest and it literally feels lighter. I'm not suffocating as much, the grip on my throat has lessened and there's not as much pressure. I can breath a little but of air in. Thank you for letting me experience this. ^-^

Dear Brendon, with all do respect to the point you just discussed, in a dark world like the one we live in, it's essential to keep faith, it's highly important to engage with positive thinking. 1st of all, we don't happen to engage with big achievements everyday, especially Big Goals that needs patience ,that's why we should split them to small ones in small periods so we can keep track and feel the progress, AND sometimes the maximum moment of awareness or consciousness could happen when you are bored, sad, sleepy, but not necessarily happy, so you cannot correlate joy with awareness all the time. it's like the movie (inside out) where the right moment to be chosen was correlated with a feeling different than joy. i just wanted to clear this one out, so that people won't limit the definition of self awareness with joy only. the best moment of self awareness is when you are THINKING . Henry ford : " thinking is the hardest thing there is, that's why only few people engage in it".

I have been going through the numbness for so long. Had no idea how to change it. I was told it was just a symptom of PTSD. Pretty much that I would be stuck with it. This has been the best information I could have gotten. Incredibly helpful. I need more of this in my life.

I am so grateful Brendon, that I have this to rely on. This lack of self awareness is my biggest wall and it is the giant I need to overcome. I have always wondered exactly what it was, why I feel so numb and handicapped and incapacitated towards friends or loved ones day after day, why people I love don't know that it's there and why I don't let myself be happy when accomplishing goals. The first nine minutes were so intensely true, they flew by and I knew with conviction you speak truth, you speak life. I want to live a charged life and follow your teachings, thank you!

I can't focus on anything. I think to myself too much. My conscious and my active mind is like a different person I can't tell to shutup.

Or the 5 second rule, act on an impulse within 5 seconds or else the idea will down. Or you can try active meditation like Bio-Energetics. Check Elliot Hulse his channel for his Warmup and/or what I do when I am depressed.

Having an addiction to excitement, isn't walking as awareness. Being mis-identified with the body and the life drama, isn't happiness. It is mis-identification. What a loss to be lost in the never-ending, illusory and transient joys/sorrows of life's drama....without ever being free in one's true nature -- Awareness Itself. Awareness is always present. It only takes a moment to be aware and wide open. However, getting lost to the addiction to being 'charged up', is just that, pursuing a life of being lost.

Explained very well Brendon! My definition of self-focus means, to me, how does what I do look to others. Looking for outer approval. This does not serve or benefit anyone. Self-awareness, to me, means I notice what is happening within me, how does what I do feel in my body. It is becoming aware of how I am feeling at every moment. Switching from self-focus to self-awareness has been extremely positive in my life! I'm thrilled you touched on this!

I would offer a counter proposal to this theme: the better feeling of "flow," of being lost in an activity, absorbed and performing at peak level. Self-awareness is an impediment to that, I submit. Let's not be careless and embrace 'self-aware' as dogma and shut our brains off from questioning its pros/cons. There are cons, the loss of flow.

But he's saying that you should ALLOW yourself to be fully involved and passionate in the things you are doing. What he's talking about is being so distracted by what else you have to do that you just coast through things that you want to do without getting fully involved. Being self aware allows you to say to yourself "Hey, you're pulling back a little, let it go and let yourself get in to what you are doing right now". Self awareness isn't an impediment to flow. It's realizing when flow does happen, allowing it to happen and not stopping it from doing so.

Only losing oneself totally, Truth can be seen. Only after the complete annihilation of your self, Truth will reveal their image. Teach me how to extinguish myself the way the wind extinguishes the spirit of a candle, and I will reveal you the subtleties of the creation. Only the moth that has thrown himself in the flame of the candle, that has consumed to nothingness, knows the true essence of the candle.

***** Get rid off the idea of good and evil, accept them as equally desirable. You are already a slave. We are already slaves; no matter if the enslaver is called individuality, majority, nature, or God. You must only accept that state of being. If you get rid of your individuality you will become the Creation themselves. You wont be confining your being in a predetermined form, you will be every form, in every place.
