Here I have a 2 year old elf of a daughter who always interrupts her playing when I watch a video. She climbs on my lap and patiently waits for Grim to appear on screen to say hi to him. She always says "Bonjour Grim !" "Il est beau Grim ! " ("Hello Grim" Grim is beautiful" in French) and is utterly fascinated. Today I was looking at older videos and she discovered Fenris ! Oh the joy! 😊

Oh I wish I knew this yesterday when they had people doing this Lucia procession at work (I work for a Norwegian company). I wasn’t aware of this tradition so it was interesting when all the lights in the office was turned off and a procession of white dressed and (fake) candle crowned people suddenly walked through singing. It’s actually pretty nice tradition that has this magical feeling to it but it truly works for more Nordic countries that actually has more darkness because it makes this especially special (but as a part of Nordic company it’s nice to learn of traditions like this as stuff like this rarely gets mentioned here quite far from North Pole) and also my grandma would’ve had a birthday on this date so this just made me feel like this day is even more special

There’s something so calming about soothing music while watching Christoffer bake. Don’t even need to hear him explain anything, just do his thing!

Cecilia is truly blessed. A husband that's a chef. She lives in a Magical looking place, northern lights , beautiful snowy Mountains. She said that the crime rate is low. What more can u ask for. ❤

I'm a music director in an Episcopal Church in the USA. We sing a French Carol from the 1300's about this. I don't know if other Anglican churches sing it or not. I apprenticed under a veteran organist who just knew everything and he loved it, because he loved to do carols from that time period, and we Episcopalians do love our antique music.

Christopher's voice is so relaxing. And with the songs, it is almost like ASMR. He should start an ASMR channel. Listening to him whispering would put me to sleep in 5 seconds lol. There is always beauty somewhere on this earth , right now i am suffocating from everything.😢😢😢

I am Dutch but somehow when I was 5 years old, I celebrated Lucia. It was something from my fathers work. My mother made me a white dress from an old linen, I held a star in my hand with a candle in it and all the girls too, except for the tall blond girl who was Lucia. I was mezmerised with all of it, I was disappointed that it was only that year and never again. As we actually never celebrate that in the Netherlands.

From the first few notes of this video I thought, "That sounds like like Jonna Jinton," even though I hadn't heard her music in years! She just has such a beautifully distinct sound, which paired perfectly with this vlog. I actually paused the vlog to get my headphones, so I could fully appreciate the music. 💛

That was beautiful! The song, you walking with the lantern in the dark and the falling snowflakes, the saffron biscotti that Christoffer was baking, everything! Jonna Jinton is such a amazing singer!

Your videos make me happy and also want to come visit. I have been looking at cruises and other trips. Get it Christoffer with the recipes….looks so yummy. Every time Grim is on the screen for a couple of seconds, my cat (Elsa), runs to it and wants to play.

I have stopped watching regular tv since I found your channel, I am hooked. Your life in Svalbard is fascinating. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope to visit your beautiful village one day

Today I baked our festive spiced fruit tea loaf we love to have at Christmas. I'm from Yorkshire in England & my favourite tea brand comes from Yorkshire too, so my fruit was soaked in hot Yorkshire tea over night & I put extra cinnamon in our cake too as we adore cinnamon in my family. Its now stored nicely in foil to mature slightly & ready for Christmas week, where we'll eat it either with salted butter, cheese or on its own.

This made me miss my Scandinavian roots! Tonight is our Lucia celebration, but I am not able to attend as it is nearly 200 miles away. Thanks for sharing this and Jonna Jinton's beautiful music!
