This is the WORST snow storm we've ever experienced at the cabin! Winds reached hurricane strength on the first day, and the storm roared outside our cabin for almost an entire week. I hope you enjoy this video of what life is like on Svalbard during a strong blizzard. Thank you so much for watching! 🧡☕️

I laughed out loud when you said "Imagine being like 70 years old." 70 will be here before you know it. Lightning fast. This is a note to the future you. Hello 70 year old Cecilia. My name is Sherrie. I am gone away to a better place now. I once enjoyed your channel when I was a grandma. Thank you. I hope you had a good life and I will meet you in Heaven. 💟💟💟🙂

Recently found your videos, really enjoying them 😃. Thinking of your lovely dog, is likely a silly question but had wondered if v extreme cold, if it would effect his paw pads, or is it just something that he’s used to x
Christoffer is such a trooper for trekking out in that storm. What a hero! That clip of him holding Grims hand just had my heart 😍 I feel so lucky whenever an animal lets me do that. I'd be interested to hear more about Ekaterina too. I always notice your beautiful nails so it's fun to see the person behind them. Maybe she'd be in to being a part of your "meet the locals" series? that is absolutely true...mostly! ;-) I have Seasonal Affective Disorder and I get VERY low energy and mood when it gets darker in the Winter. I live in Northwestern NY State, across Lake Ontario from Toronto. I need some medication and a full spectrum "Happy Light" to get through the darkest part of the year! As do so many people I know. I wish I could just "chose" to be happy because if I could I certainly would! I tend to be a pretty darn optimistic person and feel very different when the temperatures warm and we get more light. Oh, that's another thing about where I live, even when the weather is warm, we have "heavy cloudy" days more than 50% of the year. That has an effect as well. But, today it's warmer than it has been and supposed to be in the 60's on Wednesday! (before the temps get colder again) but I'm excited and looking forward to that!
Even Grim doesn’t want to out in that crazy storm! I was so happy to see you on Kara & Nate’s channel. I hope the exposure is very beneficial to you. I would love to be in your cabin while that snow storm is raging - Grim for snuggles, Chrisoffer for cooking and you to laugh with.

Your cabin looks so cosy and warm, even when there is a raging storm going on outside. I'm in the UK and have definitely noticed a positive change with sunrise/sunset over the last few weeks (obviously not as extreme as yours) At this time (15:50) a few weeks ago I would have been putting my lights on... now, it's still daylight.

Whenever I am needing to feel comfort I watch Cecilias videos, I love the cozy snowstorms with you, Christoffer and Grimm it gives me so much peace
That was intense and scary, appears the cabin held sturdy with the crazy winds, crazy watching Christoffer out there with the snow mobiles and interesting how you need to be cognizant of the wind direction to move the snow mobiles. I'm sure Grim was very glad when the storm ended! And wow, guess Kara and Nate just missed the storm! Their video was so fun with you all together!

Holy blowy!!!! About 6 was ago here in far Northern Minnesota, USA...we had ourselves a huge snowstorm with 40mph sustained winds for almost 3 days. At the peak of the storm, we had 6 hours with gusts up to 74 mph at the Lake Superior harbor....removing roofs from local buildings. Hold on to your hat!!!! And poor Grim, like our Indy dog....fastest pee we've ever seen. We had fun watching you with Kara and Nate....2 of our favorite channels wrapped in one. !!!!

Notice that in their powerful storm, nothing was damaged. I lived in Norway for years, and experienced several winter hurricanes. No boarding of windows and such; because homes and buildings are built to withstand them. Very much unlike the U.S.
I think Grim is the one enjoying your nails the most, total bliss from head scratches 🙂 Good that you built a stable cabin, it passed the test.

You know the weather is abysmal when even Grim doesn't want to be out in it. I wonder if a sound machine would help calm him. I have one I turn on when I sleep to help block out noisy neighbors and traffic noise. It has rain sounds and running creek, etc. but the best one for blocking out sounds is just the white noise. It's very calming. Maybe it would make Grim less scared of the wind.
So glad to see you guys and Kara and Nate together. Hope they come back during the summer so they can see and do more. Thanks again for another great video. Have a great week

I live in the North of France and the other day we had what you've called "Pink hour"! I was so excited I told my daughter (6)! It was beautiful... and since then it's been daylight at breakfast before school which is at around 7:45... So our "Polar night" is over as well! 😂😂😂
I went to Montmorency Falls yesterday (a huge waterfall near Québec City) because most people go there in summer and i wanted to show what it looks like in winter. It was impressive and we were getting sprayed even dozens of meters away. My notes written in ink got completely soaked LOL. (it is 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls). On the way back, my friend was driving through the streets of the old neighborhood there and the houses are not built parallel to the streets, but at an angle, because of the Noreaster winds from the St Lawrence River.
Detachable windshields would be a great idea. You could remove them in bad bad weather and reattach them when the weather improved xxx😊😊😊

Huge difference though, between Florida and Norway. I lived in Florida for eight years, and many in Norway. All structures there are built to withstand the powerful storms they get. Even the windows are amazing. I saw them literally bow in and out, not even a crack in any of them. During my several winter hurricanes, no prepping, boarding up etc. "Live and learn" can't apply to Florida, because they never do.
"It's very cozy!" She says before a fresh gust of snowy wind physically hurts her face :"D I admire your eternal positive attitude! You are an inspiration n helped me change my whole attitude about winter n bad weather; me and my dog Odin thank you :)

Wind scares me more than any other weather... we live in a rainforest on a gulf island, and everytime we have wind like that there's tons of trees that come down. And the trees here are REALLY TALL. One storm we had four tall skinny trees fall on our car! So far just branches on our house... Thankfully we have mostly maple trees around our place that are more sturdy in wind, but most of the rest of the island has massively tall big evergreens. So many power outages... I grew up in Alberta and the wind was crazy on the prairies, and the drifting snow was intense!
Love this! Thank you Cecilia
