Excellent upload, TravisBickle1963! This album is so fuckin' old. When Ian Astbury and Co. babysat Methuselah! Great memories of the "Love" lp! I have the Omnibus collection; lots of rarities and live tracks.

Billy giving the crowd a good sonic beating with no accompaniment (no second guitarist or keyboard) on this heavy ass song; the punkers digging it fully. What a f'n bad ass. Never got to see them live back in the day but can only imagine smell of sweat and loss of hearing (one too many Ramones shows myself).

And that extraterrestrial sound Duffy is getting out of that Gretch is just incredible, euphoric! Too bad the audio portion on this performance is so poor. Duffy's pomp, pure Rock n Roll! This is exactly what the band looked like when I first saw them at the Hollywood Palladium April 26th, 1986! -- Ian had sprained his ankle the night before at the show in San Diego so he basically stood almost motionless the entire set propped up by his mic stand and I'm sure plenty of opiates to kill the pain. Needless to say it was an incredible show as Ian seemed all that much more prophetic.

Ian Astbury's fantastic stage presence and Billy Duffy's incredible guitar sound, playing that beautiful Gretsch. They had a great look then too - dark psychedelic gothy look. They were trying to be the second coming of *second rate* Led Zeppelin, seeing as the Electric album was recorded with Steve Brown (Love) and then scrapped ("The Manor Sessions"), only to be re-recorded and recooked / produced by Rick Rubin of Beastie Boys Zepp-sampling fame in late 86. Guns & Roses didn't boom until well after Electric and the creative spark demise of The Cult. They self-imploded when they decided they were purely a rock band and left their London-Soho psychedelic roots to rot for the torn jeans, tow-truck driver hair and beer by the keg loads.
