Brilliant! Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for breaking it down Barney-style so that I can realize my own power to choose my response and break the cycle. And most importantly to me, thanks for reminding me that there are more lifeguards than sharks in this world. #getCounterintuitive #SurvivalBrain
This is an amazing presentation. It's rare that doctors tell their struggles. Thanks doc.
This is a flawless example of relaying what PTSD therapists want to communicate to our patients, as well as what we all have to effortly face in challenging situations. Dr. Bira's words and technique are motivational, empathic and real. This synopsis of the counterintuitive life is incredibly relatable, as is her research and clinical work. I'm so excited to learn more from her and be able to share this in my own work.
Such a fantastic talk, like the old days when all TedTalks were stellar and mind-bending. Dr. Bira's approach is applicable not only for those with PTSD, but any human being that has ever suffered a trauma and been hindered because of it. Her personal story she shares makes her approach and wider human applicability deeply palpable. There is nothing more empowering and progressive than realizing/embracing that we hold the power to rewire our own brains by going against the grain of intuition (as it relates to healing or overcoming trauma). Such a smart, relevant, and poignant presentation.
Good job Lindsay! What a smooth and clear presentation. I am impressed.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Very informative Lindsay! I really enjoyed your presentation! Glad you're doing well!
Humble respect
good job young doctor, I wish you can help people around the world, specially those whom are suffering from US wars. you can make them believe Americans can be nice doctors than brave soldiers whom making wars for nothing.
Excellent, very effective presentation. I was hoping you were going to mindfulness.
The bar for TED Talks has really dropped - great example of that trend
