TEDxSanAntonio - Gordon Hartman - You Only Are Disabled in an Environment that Makes You That Way

This Philanthropist and Founder of Morgan's Wonderland, a park for people with special needs, explains why "You Only Are Disabled in an Environment that Makes You That Way."
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Thank you Gordon Hartman. You inspire me to help others, and to stop feeling sorry for myself. You’re a man we need more of, and a man I aspire to be like. Please never stop what you do!

Gordon Hartman is such an amazing man. He does so much for this city. Morgan's Wonderland is an absolutely incredible, one of a kind place. I went to volunteer at an event there a few years ago and saw Mr. Hartman. I got to briefly speak to him and told him how incredible Morgan's Wonderland is and he said "It's all possible only because of people like you." Such an incredibly humble and kind man.

Thank you you inspired me to keep petitioning and advocating , for a hospital that is well specialized in providing proffessional medical care and medical services to people with disabilities, and people who are deaf. But I am struggling getting this petition going.

How can someone be heartless and vote down this story? This is what love and humanity is all about! Way to go sir!

Yeah....I still have a heart condition and other chronic illness no matter where I go...or who I'm with. So no, that's not how this works. A person in a wheelchair still needs a wheelchair regardless of whether or not the place they are is wheelchair accessible. Yes it makes things easier....but we're still disabled.
