The Chicago Ripper Crew

Season 16 : SATAN!
Episode 03 : The Chicago Ripper Crew
Robin Gecht thought that Satan could give him power, but in order to do that, he and his followers had to provide a sacrifice, which they did on multiple occasions.

    I was born and raised in Chicago, specifically Lombard and Villa Park, and grew up around stories of these sickos- when Thomas Kokoralis was released in 2018 or 2019 to a halfway house in Aurora (city in Illinois about 15 minutes from the area of the murders ) there was a HUGE uproar- he stayed there for two years and now lives independently in Aurora. Sick.

    I don't understand a system that takes a man who committed 18 murders, took 18 people's lives, and then comes up with a punishment it thinks is fit for that crime that's anything less than forfeiture of his own life. 18 lives, and not just murders, horrifying, torturous, terrifying murders that inflicted so much suffering, not only on the victims but on their families. I don't understand how anyone involved in a crime like this can ever be allowed to walk the streets again. This idea that a certain amount of times behind bars is equal to the loss of a life baffles me.

    Thomas served half his 70 year sentence, which is a lot of time for ONE murder, but not even a drop in the bucket for the whole series of murders he was involved in. And the prick still claims he was innocent to this day, he should have his parole revoked for showing he has no remorse.

    It doesn't matter if the death penalty is a deterrent. Deterrence is not the issue. Justice to fit the crime IS the issue. Each heinous murder is its own criminal act for which retributive justice is executed. Neither Illinois nor any other U.S. state should have abolished the death penalty.

  • @evilarchconservative2952

    @evilarchconservative2952

    I've been studying the death penalty since around 1975. It has never been a deterant. Yet it is the only criminal penalty where deference is argued. We never hear this about jail, prison, probation, home arrest, or even traffic fines. Back when pickpockets would be hanged, pickpockets would be plying their trade among the crowd. Definitely not a deterant. While I am am staunch supporter of the death penalty... A) I opposite it when the case is purely political. B) I have no problems with lengthy appeals. BUT I wish the US justice system would allow the introduction of new evidence by the defense. This is allowed in other States (i.e. Countries). C) You are 100% correct. It's about the correct penalty.

    @@evilarchconservative2952 Thank you very much for your response. I do agree about its politicization, too. I think the concern in Illinois was the potential number of wrongful convictions, which quite correctly is a reason for a MORATORIUM, but not a subsequent legislative abolition., unless the state never intended to reexamine the entire systems of arrest, adjudication, incarceration and post-conviction remedy and appeal.

    What an amazing episode! I have truly enjoyed the last few episodes. Maybe it's because I'm a GenXer. It just feels very nostalgic to me. Either way, I'm always looking forward to new content. Great work, once again!

    And the irony is, Disney of all people are trying to turn dungeons and dragons, another connection or wrongly made stereotypes of people in satanic panic, but wizards of the Coast and Disney are going to try and and turn d&d into a clothing brand and pop culture clothing brand mostly 40 years ago you would have been kicked out of school if you had one of those dungeons & dragons books. That's probably the one thing stranger things has gotten the most correct about growing up back then I'm 45

    I'm just a little younger than you and it was still frowned-upon when I was growing up, too. I wouldn't have been allowed to play if I wanted to. These days, my kid and his friends have started a d&d club at their school, sponsored by a teacher. I'm so glad it's not catching the stigma it did in the past so that future generations can get into it 😌

    i remember in the 70's every once and awhile a house in our neighborhood would get rented out by some "people" that would swiftly encourage the less streetwise of us to enter ( i did go in one once it felt wrong in my stomach) . Fortunately they were always moved out pretty soon, or sadly they got what they came for, I do no of friends that got caught up for years in cults and they now have ptsd, depression etc. Condolences to all the Families and Loved Ones. I hope Robin is good and ready to shake his idol's hand.

    OK Jiles, you've finally creeped me out!😮 You know when you're watching America's Funniest Videos and there's a little boy with a bat in his hand and a T-ball stand in front of him, ball on the T and Dad's standing at the pitcher's mound waiting for the kid to hit the ball. Yup he hits the ball right in to Dad's balls. EVERY guy watching the video goes, "Uuuuuh!"? As a woman, I finally know exactly how much pain that must be. I watched the entire episode holding on to my chest!!! The story is a tragic tale told by a great story teller. Thanks! 👍
