That’s because they use a dynamic knowledge base to decide highlighted product information. That means they’ve been asked enough customer support or chat related questions as to if “it will work with Zoom” or “will it work with Google classroom?” that Walmart has found it easier to just answer these questions in the product information.

@Alan Calderon-Aguilar Maybe when it released but not now. Crysis is pretty old, so the game engines aren't the best for benchmarking anymore. Also, from my 30+ hours of playing cyberpunk there's been very few game glitches (like only one glitch where I got stuck and got shot a few hundred meters). I've noticed a few, but their small visual glitches and wouldn't affect performance (like Jonny's shadow looking all distorted or during side quest fistfights my health bar disappearing). So in terms of the best game for GPU benchmarks, Cyberpunk is definitely far better.

@Alan Calderon-Aguilar Crysis had a ton of bugs, and since the remaster is based on the original game engine with AI enhanced textures, the remaster is a buggy game, too. That was part of the reason Crysis ended up as the meme it is, because the engine wasn't optimized well. Cyberpunk just played itself up a lot more than Crysis did, and the world of social media wasn't the powerhouse it was back then. Plus, video-game media is a much bigger player now.

And even then, i will probably just reinstall Windows 10, since i have 1 SSD that only has windows on it, the rest has my data and games. @@judewhittaker1200 because if a laptop does dual channel for 8gb then both sticks are 4gb each, that means if you pop an 8gb stick in there you not only have to be stuck with 12gb of ram, but you'd have to use mis match sticks which for ryzen and laptops isn't a good idea. So it's better for just 1 8gb stick in a laptop so you can just put another 8gb stick in and not have to throw anything out.

About the screen not being recommended for photo/video editing, I think it can be looked at the same way you looked at storage: save a bit and buy an external display. It's an upgradable part if you don't need to edit on the go and have a big enough table

Good thing I got it during the first 1000 I love it for an entry level gaming laptop

I bought one of these a week or two back. Absolutely loving it. I immediately upgraded to 16GB of RAM and added a 1TB NVME drive. Now nearly every game runs buttery smooth. This is my first foray into >60 FPS and >60Hz gaming, and I don't think I can go back. Highly recommend if you find it for $700!

It was amazing how fast they faded from the scene. One day they were one of the largest PC companies, and the next day they were just gone. I can't say I have a lot of experience with Gateway machines. Actually the only one I can remember was one a customer brought to the store to get some help expanding the memory or installing a larger HDD. It's been over 20 years and my memory isn't the best, but it was either of these. The reason I remember it is that opening it up I immediately recognized the motherboard as a Intel Zappa and thought this would be a chinch as we used a lot of these in our own machines that we built. This was back in 99 or perhaps even 2000. At the time Intel sold some very good motherboards. While they had little in the way of frills they were incredibly reliable and had very little in the way of compatibility issues. So seeing the Intel Zappa in that machine from Gateway was a very welcome sight. But there is where things started to get strange. No matter what we did it wouldn't use the larger memory or HDD we tried to install. Picking up the phone and calling Gateway I was routed to the technician responsible for this particular product and he had to explain that no, Gateway did not use the Zappa motherboard, well not exactly at least. Instead they used a customized version that was called Aladdin, and the modification Gateway had Intel make to these motherboards consisted of effectively cutting the highest address line either on the memory buss or on the IDE interface. This effectively halved the size of memory or HDD that could be used He explained that from what he could see it was just this address line that had been changed. You could even install the Intel Zappa BIOS and everything worked, except the memory or HDD size was still limited as the modification was done in the hardware by simply omitting the high address line. He had no explanation of why they would do such a thing. I highly doubt it made the motherboards cheaper to buy for Gateway. While we couldn't solve our customers problem we did end up inviting the Gateway technician to our regular Friday lan party. He also started referring customers who needed help with out of warranty machines to us. So I know we worked on a bunch of Gateway computers, but that machine with the crippled Zappa motherboard is the only one I remember at all.

Gateway, now that's a name I've haven't heard in a long time.

Went from an HD 530 igpu on a i7-6700t in an all in one to this thing last march. My particular unit OC'd pretty good so it's absolutely insane now. DLSS is a life saver when using RT, I played cyberpunk absolutely cranked (RT ultra preset with Psycho RT setting and some post processing settings off) and I still get around 40 fps. Just add another stick of memory and storage and it's perfect.

I got this laptop for this price a few weeks ago! I've been loving it so far, and I decided to buy storage/memory upgrades for it. Was really happy to see this pop up; I had a feeling you would approve, Linus! Definitely removed Norton the instant I saw it...

"2000" wasn't a particular model, as far as I can remember, that's actually what the company used to be called back in the day, "Gateway 2000", because in the 90s everything sold faster if it was labeled for the millennium ahead.

i love the gateway name and logo coming back!

I just picked up this laptop and have been using it for about 3 weeks. I upgraded the RAM to 16b and put on a 2tb external hard drive. The RTX 2060 in this is the 2020 respec higher wattage one. On par with the desktop one. The display is great for the average person not nitpicking and I do not see any actual flaws with it. The metal build quality on everything except the bottom is great.

Maybe an idea for the cooling series. What if put the motherboard in a vacuum chamber and put all the connections trough the chamber wall, including the chilled coolant tubes. There is no air in a vacuum so no condensation i guess. I don't know if the vacuum will destroy the motherboard.

I need a link and cost. If you don’t mind, I’ve been in the market for something similar.

I just got an Omen-15 for Christmas but I had to return it because It came with a few dead pixels, other than that it was a great laptop for the few days I had it, I was able to run almost every game on max settings with at least 70+ fps. I am now opting to get an Omen 25l desktop instead.

It's at $799 right now, not $699 unfortunately. $699 seemed like it was a Black Friday/Holiday sale price and you can hold out in hopes for that price if you want. For a laptop with an RTX 2060 in it, you won't find any for less than $1000 so $799 is still a good deal in my opinion.

ok so here's the thing I got the laptop he showed in this video but here's the catch the thing is saying there is actually 4 dim slots to upgrade the ram when I thought there was only 2 but I'd imagine the other 2 are under the keyboard and so forth but still nice to see it may be able to handle more than 16 GBS anyways linus thanks for the tips on this video this laptop is actually pretty good it does run meh on 8 gbs but I will be upgradeing to 16 soon but all and all its a good buy even for 800$ as most will not have a rtx 2060 at that price!

I remember Gateway used to be a pc desktop manufacturer back in early 2000 with the same logo.I think they were manufactured in Ireland

I have this laptop and big tip to anyone considering it n upgrading it: Use a hair dryer on the warranty sticker with a razor blade and you can slowly remove it without destroying it. I had asked many people who claimed that warranty stickers arent valid in the US what they could possibly do if this company were to simply follow the trend of denying warranties n made you pay the shipping to return it back to you (You're obviously not gonna sue them) and that was the solution one person thought of. Also I can answer any other questions anyone might have!
