Yep. I have a $250 laptop that has a Ryzen 5 and a FHD IPS Display, and a $1200 Lenovo with a Ryzen 7 and RX6800M D-GPU. But to be fair, the video is just giving a rough idea of some average laptops you can get at those price points, not comparing laptops at those price points. I do kind of wish they'd been a little bit more comparable, or kept the middle two (both of which are more reasonable prices a normal person might spend) within brand, like using the comparable AMD Lenovo Legion instead of MSI's Intel/nVidia version.
@norfabatonas

Should have also had the $127, $234 and $378 dollar ranges. No, wait, $454 as well. Any more?
@OmniUni
Жыл бұрын
@@norfabatonas You're missing the point. None of these laptops are "exactly" some price. However, there are some pretty big jumps along the way that these models miss. In particular, many models adopt at least IPS displays earlier, and the jump to a even a low-end dGPU makes a huge difference as well. In other words, the jumps should really be more by the major features, not necessarily price.

Just a quick note, the downward facing speakers are meant to be used with the laptop on a desk, they should sound much better that way, otherwise they loose some power and bass

@Mihir Shetye makes sense, I just have an unnecessary level of frustration whenever I try to enter an alt code and can't. Aparently, Framework has done market research and found a near 50/50 split in people wanting/not wanting numpads.
After watching this video, I bought the GT77HX. I have been using it for 2 months, and It really didn't disappoint me. Among all 4090 laptops I chose this because it itself is equipped with a 4K144Hz Mini-LED screen (I think it a pity if we don't go for 4K with 4090, but I don't want to go for an extra screen). Plus, it is safe. In my country, very few people can recognize this one. For most people this is just a heavy thick $1500- laptop. However, if I went for any Alienware it would be completely different. But I don't think anyone should sacrifice what they really wanted for the jealousy of others. That's not the reason why we buy a high-end laptop. Still, the per-key RGB keyboard is great, and you can customize it using SteelSeries GG. I set the keyboard RGB to respond to keypress by changing the key's color. It's really a nice experience! This laptop is well worth buying for anyone who would need it.

The biggest thing is there really isn't a huge difference between a $2500 and a $7000 laptop. Even 5 years ago, there was a pretty significant performance jump between a premium, a "super premium", and an "ultra premium" laptop. Now the biggest thing you tend to pay extra for is performance in a smaller form factor and even that's better than in the past. Before the last few years you never even really had the option to choose performance in a smaller form factor, if you wanted a smaller form factor you usually got mid-range performance at best.

If the performance tests were done at the same time then they're swayed. If one machine is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and the other isn't and you have a Wi-Fi 6 router and the Wi-Fi 6 equipped machine will be prioritized over the other one which will actually take bandwidth support from the other machine and "focus" more on the wifi6 one.

The Coda is actually an AMAZING DEAL, $70 for 4GB RAM, meaning it will get through most basic life tasks and a decent amount of storage for lightweight indie games and education. The only problem is that it's an Intel Celeron processor, I'd much rather a low-mid range Pentium or an older i3 (specifically pre 10th gen). Most laptops at that range are Chromebooks, super low spec laptops for education, and even at about $120-$200 you'd still probably find a few laptops around the same or slightly better rigs. MSI KATANA i got for 900 uk pounds new still got it probably no the best quality materials but inside with i7 12th gen and rtx 3060 its still meeting all my expectations
this dude just posts better videos than the last, huge respect
Omg. So random that you tested the katana gf 76. I love this device for its fast download speed. But you have to open it after 1 Year to clean the vans up because it can get very loud.
The thing is you have to be grateful for what you have because what you have right now is someone's dream to have it.

Love this video, Arun! I love how engaging your videos are and your energy is always infectious (still love the corny jokes LOL) keep up the great work, man! 🎉
Arun could you recommend me some cheap good, all-around laptops for programming and light gaming?
I own the gt77 hx it’s been my desktop replacement since my desktop is in storage right now
7:05 did he just literally cut a fruit with a $1200 laptop??

The MSI Titan blew my mind. It genuinely looks and performs as good as an expensive pc would. (It is making me wish I had one 😅)

7k in a PC would have much better gaming power. You could have a ryzen X3D chip with a 4090 for way better fps. All watercooled too

You can get the same specs for literally under 3k lmao msi is ridiculous
256 gb is such lowly storage for Windows though. As soon as you replace Windows with Linux. I think the sweet spot is at about $650-$750 for mid tier use. At that price, you get about 8gb of fast RAM, and 512gb of SSD. You also get a well built chassis, a 1080p display that's pretty well presented, a great keyboard, a good trackpad, and most importantly, a chip that will last you 5-7 years in the latest i5 or R5. Obviously you wouldn't be able to game much, but for a college student/professional laptop where your workload doesn't include AIML or heavy content production, that laptop will do the job pretty well.
Love your videos man I don't know what you do with the laptops afterwards but can I get it, I need it for work and am broke to buy one Please ❤❤

9:29 I was running a 24.5-inch monitor for a few years but then decided to get a second monitor, a 27-inch. It doesn't sound like a huge difference, but it really is.

Is 24 inch good for gaming? I have a 27" 1440p right now but I don't like gaming in 1080p on it cause it looks bad on a monitor of that size. Would a 24" 1080p monitor be good for playing games on or are they too small
Great content as usual 🗽, but would have loved to hear about battery life as well 😮; it's one of the main things most customers look out for in a laptop

If you're a gamer, not at all... Battery is the least important.

@@Sandra-P.713 indeed, when you are planing to buy a lapotop to game you are going to have it plugged all the time anyways so it doesnt really matter alll that much the battery life. also, i think it isnt hard to conclue that a laptop with a i9 and a 4090 isnt going to last 13 hours

@@saucyBot yeah ture, we mostly plug it when use it.. battery it also depends on laptop segment.. ultrabook will last very long, while gaming laptop wont.. so battery isnt that relevant here.. unless we comparing same laptop segment..

Really! For me it is least important? I’m just everyday user. Important for me is colour accuracy and it is fast enough not to annoy me 😂
I have a feeling, Asus and lenovo's Legion series where silenced, plus where are the razer laptops, they go hard
random question. could you do a review on the HP laptop please?
