This is why I like Selmar so much. Any man that could be that caring and emotional towards such a tiny creature has the heart of a giant in my opinion. I've sensed this about him since the beginning. As sad as this is, the time that the little peachick spent on this planet was certainly in one of the most beautiful places on earth, surrounded by the kindest people imaginable.

Oh Selmar, I’m so sorry for the loss of the peachick. Your bounding over to tell Stephanie of their hatching was a joy to watch. You are a wonderful protector.

Selmar, we saw another side of him. Gentleness mixed with sadness. My heart went out to him. Maman brought tears to my eyes when she passed on a parcel of some pastry secretly to Gerry. A very special bond there (like mother & son). I know Gerry has his own family but this is really special I feel.

I completely agree! It was really nice seeing those sides to these people that we don't normally see. I feel as though this vlog was especially authentic (they always are!) in showing the ups and downs of their collective and individual lives. Selmar- you are an absolute gem. Oliver- your cheeky wit cracks me up so much. Gerald- I almost choked with laughter at your antics at the well. Of course mummy is just a legend-doesn't need saying!! (I've written about everyone else before so that's why I'm not boring you all about Stephanie and everyone else again and again!). These vlogs are the highlight of my week- the perfect study break during my final year at school! xxxx

this was such an emotionally filled vlog. i love all the different personalities and how they compliment each other. I can not thank all of you enough for the laughs, stories, and happiness you're sharing with everyone. I always feel inspired to paint, garden, and learn new things with every vlog💜

oh Selmar, I understand. Peafowl are particularly magical. In TX a peahen came across 2 fields and hung out with our goats and my son nearly every day and would eat out of his hand,look in the window and call to him. She sadly was hit by a car on a Sunday and my son snuggled her in his arms and tucked her in a nest of hay in a shelter but she died. He was heartbroken for weeks. He looked just like you walking with his hen friend.

Love all of you. Scotsman you are just hilarious and absolutely wonderful. Maman is incredible in every way. Selmar is so living and sweet. Michael is filled with energy and fun. Oliver is so witty and talented. Natty is special in her comradely with everyone and her gentle manner. Tomas is extraordinarily talented and full of life and fun. Ian just fits in so well and contributes in so many ways. I am sorry not to remember the authors name but she is such a beautiful. And Stephanie is the glue. She is the honey that all the bees flock to. Once dear Percy gets there, the shifting and beautiful circle can expand again as he contributes so much focus for everyone and such a charming and loving aura. What a wonderful life that you have carved from a formerly crumbling chateau. Thank you for letting me into for a short visit through the vlogs.

Your home is full of life and happiness and it makes me feel a great joy for all of you. Ive been looking into Chautau homes and business in my Granfathers hometown of Bourg en Breese, France. The yearly tax and wealth tax is pretty heavy in France. I have dual citizenship. Part of me is torn weather I should return part time to the old country or juat make a California French style Chautau here as the yearly tax is only 1 percent for land. Seeing all your adventures seaching for antiques and local life is awesome learning experience. I always look forward to seeing your notifications in my busy day.

Another wonderful instalment of life at Lala Land, so sad for little Ian but his siblings are growing beautifully, amazing to see them learning to fly 😮. Oliver is such a clever artist and seems like a very gentle, loving soul, another regular returning star at Lalande. Not sure if it is the Chateau, Mummy or Stephanie that was the catalyst for these amazing connections but you are all very special and blessed to have these moments and thank you for sharing. Sorry to hear of the loss of one of the pea chicks. The rest look sturdy, so hopefully they continue to gain strength and skill. That split that Tomas did was amazing! He's such a talent! Glad he's gotten some things from home. Oliver's painting looks awesome and I can't wait to see the finished piece.

Poor little pea chick. Life is so fleeting sometimes. So I see we got a bit of everything today at Lalande. I find Gerald's accent very pleasing to the ear, just like Mummy's. And when Tomas did that split, I honestly thought he hurt himself. But he got back up so quickly...wish I could move like that.
