No, they wouldn't. If the product is awful seeing more of it doesn't make it better. ROH is a bunch of nobodies having fake looking matches. It's not the same ROH that everyone loves from way back when.

What I like about TK's ROH: - Great matches - Fantastic PPVs What I hate about TK's ROH: - Awful booking - ROH Champions regularly appear on Dynamite - Matches with no build - Too many matches - ROH airs on Honor Club (few people watch ROH on Honor Club and stick to watching highlights on ROH's YT channel instead)

ROH now is like ECW for AEW but less extreme and boring crowd

The early PPV's under the Khan era were great but forcing ROH content and titles onto Dynamite ruined a lot of momentum of AEW. Combined with the build for the first Forbidden Door, it was all kind of a mess. If ROH was just PPV's then would definitely purchase them but I really hope the ROH mini era on Dynamite doesn't come back any time soon

I can't exactly agree that putting ROH on Dynamite was/is a bad thing because a lot of people (myself included) want ROH back on TV.

In Ring Storytelling and Psychology will always mean more than In Ring Workrate unless you're a MARK.

Tbh ROH never recovered from losing Punk, Joe, Danielson, and McGuiness. Tyler Black was never a draw. Steen and Generico weren't draws. The "eLitE" were never a draw. Adam Cole, Jay Lethal, and Dalton Castle all generated some interest, but neither Cole nor Castle were Champs long enough or at the right times to capitalize on the intrigue they generated from outsiders. Sinclair didn't even invest in proper cameras and lighting until it was way too late. Tony bought a tape library and a streaming platform tech stack that will likely be copy/pasted into a site for AEW's back catalog.

Downfall? It’s barely begun.

Let's be real: TK overpaid for a product that isn't producing any real returns. He got played.

TK surely didn't help things get better when he treated the then Men and Women's Main Champs like trash. It's no secret AEW is one-sided when booking crossover matches with IMPACT-signed talent but Deonna Purrazzo held onto the Women's ROH Title after Rox C left for WWE and became yet another IMPACT Talent made to look unimportant by barely even promoting the match. Johnathan Gresham, not-signed, was asked to drop the title to Claudio Castignolli in less than 10 minutes before possibly being booked with no immediate plans which was an insult to someone keeping the title alive during ROH's death. AEW seems eager to wanting their talent to win other companies' titles but won't show the same courtesy in return.

the downfall was the old owner's version of ROH, as Sinclair Broadcasting Group didn't treat it well and when the bought the FSN RSNs, it put them into debt and then the pandemic crippled them as well as the 2020 election.

I think you are rushing things a bit with this one. Just an opinion.

I wouldn't say it's in the grave yet; but not a good sign when Collision got a SAT show; and ROH was stuck with a streaming deal for their TV. With their biggest stars/champs appearing more on AEW. We are 9 days away from a ROH PPV and they've announced 1 match with little/no build. I think it's probably because of some changes backstage, plans changed; and now they are mostly using the enhancement talent on ROH. It still has a couple really good matches each week; but it's always going to be little brother to AEW.

Streaming deal would mean that they got a third party streaming service to license their content and pay them for it. That’s not the case. They’re streaming it on their own platform, which isn’t a streaming deal. The last number of subscribers I’ve seen from Tony is 12,000 subscribers who pay $9.99 a month. At that number that’s roughly $1.44M a year of revenue from the service. Throwing in everything else it would probably be generous to say ROH grosses $10M. I don’t fault Tony from wanting the content but outside of acquiring all the syndication rights for the show it was a horrible idea to relaunch the thing as there’s no way it’s anywhere in the universe of breaking even on what it costs to operate. It’s also silly to keep investing PPV resources for shows that set records if they do 25K or more buys at a lower price over AEW branded shows that will don100K or more for $10 more per buy. It’s a smaller fan base than AEW fans likely already knew about and can’t be much more than a passion project to operate if we’re real about it. It’ll exist for the length of time Tony is cool to run it at losses because what can he market it for a tv deal with? He has an audience of 12K people willing to pay to watch it - when he aired ROH content in the main shows the viewers take declines. There’s not much of anything positive to sell it to somebody to pay for it unless he can somehow have leverage to tie it to the main content - I.e. if you want dynamite and such you have to air ROH on one of your networks.

A minor critic I have is the ROH belts themselves. All the belts have same dull nickel plated design. Traditional I think championships should be Gold! making them nickel/silver just makes them look 2nd rate.

Lets also not forget how ROH had another weird debut at final battle 2022, with Control Your Narrative, but just like the enzo & cass debut nothing came of it.

SOME of the ROH wrestlers came to work with NWA before TK came in and did the buyout. It was kind of cool.

Nah I get what you are saying but NXT did way more damage to ROH before AEW was even a thought. They raided ROH as well. Remember Kyle beat Cole at Final Battle just for him to drop it back to Cole at WK because he signed with WWE. Fish and Cole left not long after. HHH had been trying to sign the Briscoes for the longest time, but it never happened. Priest is another prospect ROH was high on that WWE took. Black and Gold NXT was basically a ROH/PWG on steroids but with a WWE budget (They also poached off the UK Indy scene). All that happened before AEW existed . Putting ROH's decline all on AEW is disingenuous imo. Also downfall? You speak like TK has had ROH for like a decade or something. As numerous others have said in the comments the weekly TV is actually pretty good. The PPV's have been good too. I could go without seeing ROH featured on AEW though.

Bruh thank you. I’ve been saying all of this forever. A lot of people for some reason don’t even see the connection between ROH and AEW so that they definitely don’t understand the history with ROH and NXT. NXT tried to make a system that would replace indies by taking all the talent and have them work with the homegrown so they can be as good as guys in the indies for 10 years in the time of 2-3. They hurt ROH, Impact, Evolve, the UK indies. The original Black and Gold brand was some of the best wrestling content that WWE ever made but it came at a great cost no doubt.

Aew as a whole is tragic especially when it comes to story telling with an exception of a few

It's really because of the show deal. ROH has great talent. It's really just the promotion being a territory in a Globalized wrestling. The best option, I feel, is to make it the Smackdown of AEW, give up wrestlers not making crowds, and let them keep their belts. Make it so ROH is a part of AEW proper since Rampage isn't getting too much pull and collision is going to die out. IMO

ROH is already being soft rebooted into AEW’s developmental. Their PPVs are essentially NXT takeovers and I’m all for it. I’m hoping that if a harder split comes that there would be a draft over a week or two on AEW programming where the talent gets drafted to either ROH, Dynamite, and Collision. I think storylines would be more consistent.

The point was to rescue the archive footage from Vinny buying it and burying it along with 90% of most wrestling history to push that garbage sports entertsinment reality TV shit as being wrestling. You cant own both and think you can fool people thsat they are difdferent. Especially when you've replaced 75% of AEW TV with ROH midcard jobbers. Its awful WWE level storylines with the 5 star dream match ups replaced by guys who werent relevant a decade ago, replacing the wrestlers we wanna see wrestling. It’s had 6 months and is still a glorified aew dark that they actually want people to pay for! Why so many squash match’s and match’s with no build whatsoever and the champions aren’t even there every week. I watch every few weeks on a third party site to see if it improves and it just doesn’t

This video is VERY harsh. TK has just started with ROH but more importantly they no longer have a TV deal. The only income from the show is through premium services like fire TV which most fans can't afford in times of a money crisis right now. He's clearly losing money on the show and he's brought back top ROH stars like Samoa Joe. Until he gets a TV deal though it's super hard to pump money into it. I'm sure he's working on a deal right now.

Ring of Honor is NXT for them they should take all the titles and make them the primary titles on the second show so they have more to compete for and to split between so many wrestlers

The set looks great with the red and black buut after the first couple of shows, it turned into another AEW Dark... Nothing sets it apart from AEW as talent goes back and forth between AEW & ROH.... It's too bad because it could have been great but at least Tony didn't bury it like Vince did to WCW & ECW....

They had really good ppvs and an amazing briscoes FTR trilogy, wheeler yuta,Samoa joe,Athena, and plenty to come have really benefited from it. A bit of a premature time to make this video

AEW should honestly just do a brand split have roh names drafted so the big guys get regular tv time- have rampage as a brand vs brand b show Where some roh guys can get thrown in and just keep the roh weekly show back to its roots and just have it as an indie feel to it with big ppv a every few months.

My idea is to hard split the brands, have a draft across AEW/ROH programming over a week or two, and have talent drafted between dynamite, collision, and ROH. Get rid of Rampage and replace it with ROH tv.

Don’t you think you’re exaggerating on this topic on this negativity your spreading on ROH’s run. Despite the flaws it had. It doesn’t mean that ROH is going to end.

Sorry but it's bullshit. Before TK RoH was nearly Dead. It is a good Solid Weekly with some good Matches and until now every week has one Match who Stands Out. Before the Buy there were Shows with 150-300 people, i know it bc i was there at some of these.

I enjoy AEW but have no interest in ROH. They’ve just not built it up enough. Can’t stand it when they bring the ROH belts to AEW too

Roh is literally Dark 2.0, why even buy it if you have no plans for it? J Gresh was 100% right we should’ve known this as soon as Tony disrespected him.

Agreed, ROH lost its intimate indy fan feel. Now, it's brightened up studio sterile look.

ROH would get a lot more views if it was on a standard streaming channel you could get thru say Hulu or prime (HEY TK). I myself don't wanna pay for another streaming channel just to watch it. No its not as good as the AEW product but I myself would watch every week if I could. You think there'd be some channel that'd be happy to pick it up and I've seen a lot of other people thanking the folks who did stream a few early episodes on KZread till they noticed it and got their grubby little fingers on it. Whoever THEY are. Then again I may be just one of a small few who think this way
