WWE had a horrible product for years and competition is good for all companies. I want there to be an AEW. I want there to be an alternative to WWE. And AEW did a good job for a bit. There are just clear issues behind the scenes and with the leadership. If theses things don’t get fixed, there is no AEW in 5 to 10 years. I don’t want that. They just need to fix the problems. It’s possible to be critical about something without being a hater or some kind of WWE fan boy. I’m not either.

Its one thing for us fans to call AEW not a real business but Punk a guy who's been behind the scenes of AEW and knows the nuts and bolts of how the company is run, it definitely adds some legitimacy to the company. The company was somewhat well run when Cody was still there but its totally fallen apart since Cody went to WWE.

Tony Khan is like if the streamer N3on was the CEO of a wrestling company. Little skinny awkward weirdo who happens to be filthy rich through family money bashing toys together in the booking room, shitting himself when fights break out or someone gets a bit out if control. Vince was an irredeemable piece of shit for his whole tenure as CEO of WWE but he had a backbone, he demanded respect, he forced people to stay in-line and he knew the business and its customs

WWE is actually putting in work that can catch my eye all the Bloodline then the Judgement Day and then The Rock and all the great ones or in WWE

I feel the unknown releases are CM Punk friends who he do not want them to get in trouble

Tbh the only guy i see in AEW that has any potential to be better than the "All Friends Wrestling" guys is MJF He business smart, great at telling stories in and out of ring, believable Heel/Face, and above all has amazing champion presence I honestly hope he goes to WWE as soon as he can so he can actually be utilized and trained to use his full potential

I think everything CM Punk said was spot on and fair. He just went about it horribly. He shouldn’t have shoot back at the Brawl Out press scrum or choke out Jack Perry. But as someone who’s worked in a similar environment like that before, I get it the frustration.

I loved AEW but I can only watch something JUST for the matches for so long. I was good storylines and escapism and guess who was arguably AEWS best AEW storyline….CM Punk with MJF. A good storyline makes you invest in that person much more than good matches down imo.

Punk has some valid points regarding Tony’s management style. His lack of management has resulted in avoidable problems, but on the same token I have a few issues with this interview. 1. It was pretty hypocritical for punk to say that guaranteed money ruined wrestling when this was one of his main point of contentions when he left the WWE in 2014. He was concerned that the creation of the WWE Network would mean the end of guaranteed money. 2. This guy mocked the AEW roster for being “betrayed” for going to a WWE show while under AEW contract when at the same time he very publicly ended his friendship with Colt Cabana doing the same thing during their lawsuit with WWE. So this comes off as very disingenuous. 3. Punk is so adamant that the Elite should have gotten in a room and squashed the beef, but when presented with the same opportunity to do so with Colt Cabana he refused to do so. 4. Punk claiming that WWE looks out for their talent medically is comical when he was the same guy in 2014 that claimed that the WWE almost killed him by misdiagnosing a staph infection for months and forcing to wrestle concussed. 5. Punk claims to have been in a room with fake journalist when he immediately looked like an ass in the beginning of that all out scrum when he was proven wrong in his assumptions by Nick Hausmen. Also the fact that he misquotes stuff from journalist all the time because he doesn’t actually read these read the reports and hears stuff second hand. In that same scrum he was complaining about someone saying something that they never actually said. 6. Also Ariel only cares to do real journalism when he can trash AEW. This same guy had HHH in front of him in the midst of the Vince McMahon scandal and refused to ask him a single question about it. 7. If you look at any of these WWE scrums you will see a lot more phony WWE PR journalist. At least an AEW media scrum you’ll actually get people pushing back against Tony. The only time WWE got any pushback is when the details of the Vince McMahon SA lawsuit first came out. 8. Punk also has had a long history of blowing and burning bridges over the dumbest shit since his indie days. He’s notoriously gotten into backstage fights with guys like Kevin Owen, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you see this guy implode again. I love your social media influencer boxing takes Wade but your wrestling takes are some of the dirt worse and you definitely get your opinions from grifters like Jim Cornett and Eric Bischoff. The All Friends Wrestling was a dead give away of that. Disliking this video proudly.

As somebody who enjoys a lot of what AEW does there’s absolutely no denying that they are way below where they should be 5 years into the business. For every great story or feud there’s at least 5 random matches or interactions that make no logical sense and above all else I think it’s safe to say that people like the bucks are not and we’re never true stars that are marketable in the us market. MJF is the only person to truly breakout as a star that wasn’t already established and thats sad to me considering all the other talent they have.

No surprise on what was said. I believe Punk. The rumors and what is seen on screen is enough proof for me.

Let’s hope the video Wednesday really tells the truth. If what Perry Was so childish, why did he react to it? If you don’t like ARW, don’t watch, and at the same time don’t comment. I enjoy both but I do prefer one over the other. I’d not attack the wrestlers anyway. Punk and Triple H keep bringing it up, so they are forced to react. As for TK, it was said equipment was knocked over and almost hit him. Since Punk keeps bringing it up, it’s great that they’re finally getting to release that backstage video. My hope is that it finally puts this story to bed. It’s also clear your complete bias against AEW. As I said. Don’t watch and just comment on what you like. The world might just be a better place.

What I don't understand, is why everyone is taking Punk's word for it. In the history of Punk I have never seen him admit to doing something wrong. You don't "just choke someone a little bit". It is easy to say it is all lies when no one is going to argue with you (or the interviewer is going to let claims fly by). Tons of wrestlers have had problems with Punk backstage, in both AEW and WWE. I believe him that Jack Perry was being a dumbass. But that leading to him choking someone in front of his boss doesn't add up. And given that at this moment it is de jour to shit on AEW, everyone is just accepting another set of claims by Punk. And I say this as a Chicagoan that has followed Punk since the indies, who went to RoH shows, who loved him in WWE, and was begging for him to come back to AEW. It just doesn't all add up. And when you combine that with an infrequent WWE employee (that has had some questionable interactions with UFC fighters recently) giving him two hours to shit on his competition, it just comes off as contrived.

Wwe literally has one storyline they been dragging for years with the same people on top since 2019 there been no new stars or changes. you should cover wrestling more. as a fan of AEW , i am not surprised about most of the things punk said. but i also don't agree with some of them. for instance HE is the one who made the story about Glass and Jack Perry being a dick public. HE talked to dirtsheets about everything that happened too. Sean Ross Sapp even tweeted "where do y'all think the stories from Punk's side was coming from?" he isn't the saint he thinks he is. all of this could've been prevented by Khan yes. Interesting how Punk goes back to WWE and immediately squashes decades long beefs and has not had one issue, even working directly with people who still don’t like him. Before I get accused of being a WWE guy, I’m not. I’m a pro wrestling fan. Wherever there is good pro wrestling I will watch. AEW has issues, but they can be great. They just need help with booking and a boss with a backbone. The talent is there on the roster, they just need a cohesive product every week and if the inmates are running the asylum that will never happen. I’m not saying don’t give them creative freedom, but you need to put your foot down sometimes and people need to get over their own egos and do what’s best for business. If you think Punk was the only person in AEW with an ego you’re sorely mistaken…

Well the ratings are showing no one cares about aew cause just like the fans can see real heat the fans can see its a joke just throwing matches with no reason or care.

Tony is just a little boy, he got traumatized from cm punk chocking out perry. Imagine the trauma he'd go through if one of his wrestlers beat him up for doing his job. He'd end up in a insane asylum. 😂
