+dustindo I think a bit of both? It was supposed to make us think something like The Stig, at any moment, could be a legendary race car driver. But Michael did drive his FXX and set a lap as the Stig for that one episode.

+dustindo No Michael was never the stig. He came in that show because they were testing one of the Ferrari's that he owned so he was guest starring. The real Stig for a while was actually Ben Collins.

It's such a shame Sabine's passed away. I liked her. She was an incredible driver, she was alot nicer than I was hoping and she was always fun and wonderful on Top Gear.

Multiple different drivers have played as the stig and the BBC effectively copyrighted it meaning GT couldn't carry it on, even though the term was created by the current producer of GT

I've always wondered how smug Ben looked under that helmet when he checks his mirror after crossing the line.

I'm not good at German, but I think if it was "not" he'd have used 'nicht', whereas 'niemals' gives that sense of 'no way' or 'never'...

STIG really amazes me, he really does, he sets a PERFECT example of what can be done in a car

“That’s his nickname, just like - you know - we call him [referring to Hammond] “Lofty” - it’s the opposite.” By merely a few words Jeremy shoot down everyone in presence, be it Richard or the German host.... One of the best piece of British humour
