I was thinking the same thing. On top of that there's also the 24 hour racing challenge and the fact that the Stig was faster than most F1 drivers in the 'reasonable priced car'. Whoever it really was, was bloody frickin skilled.

Even the episode when jeremy "beat" stig in the lotus vs the mustang stig was in 2nd gear the whole time and still won but they cut the film.

Having a stig always helps. Really love it when they bring the Stig out to clutch an event like that. My favorite was the 24 hour endurance race where the Stig blitzed the scoreboard anytime they lost ground lol.

@@thewidow7864 who was never the stig. He was on because Ferrari would only let their drivers test the fxx on the track so he had to be there anyway to do the lap, they came clean about it very soon after the ep came out (Ben Collins was the stig at the time of that ep with the ‘reveal’)

It's a tribute to the Great Escape. a War film from 1963 where they recreate something actually done by the soldiers in Stalag Luft III during the war. Andy Dusfresne might do the same same thing in The Shawshank Redemption but this is a British vs Germans thing and they keep harping on about the war despite being told not to.
