8:05 As the big ship is off their Port side, technically Jeremy has right-of-way. But I do have to imagine that size also plays a role, that more maneuverable vessels (a pickup truck with an outboard motor) must give way to less maneuverable vessels (a 34,000 ton ferry). But my final answer is that the ferry must give way to Jeremy, as maritime law states that vessels in distress always have right of way, which I would assume extends to vessels that have a 99% chance of being in distress at any second.
I've watched these challenges many times and they never get old. That's a sign of great entertainment.

They lost a lot of the production talent that made the show what it was when they left the BBC. I also think the relationship between the three became a little strained after the whole debacle. I think May and Hammond were mad that Jeremy got the show canned with his behaviour and it took a while to repair the relationships, I know May kept saying he wanted to stop doing TGT after each series but I guess the Amazon money was too much to turn down.

I was shaking my head in despair, because they could have vastly improved on the designs and prevented some flaws with only a minimal bit of brainpower. - Clarkson: HYDROFOILS to stabilize the thing which would allow him to actually use more of his massive power. - May: two side-mounted "keels" instead of cutting open the car for a center mounted one. - Hammond: bilge-pump and some outriggers to stabilize the vertical design. It took me milliseconds to figure those out, but they were rubbish on purpose.

Well they did recover the vehicle and now it's on display at the top gear museum
I love how GTA5 made Jeremey's truck for one of their missions!

Opting for a sailboat when tasked with an amphibious vehicle challenge is the most James May thing imaginable 😂
that moment when he reads the challenge and his eyes go big...... I love it
sunk in the channel, drinks tea, most British thing i've seen in a long time :D
Love it when James hits his head on sail at 4:11, lol

I gotta be honest, this is an incredible example of the engineering process. They all set out with the same goal, they each failed in a different way, then they each set about refining their ideas, then tested them again, only to fail once more.

Fail and repeat until you success, that's the old school engineering way.

Imagine how much fun it must have been to be on that beach and get to watch the Top Gear guys drive a pickup truck out of the water.
The look on May and hammonds faces when he said Dover were priceless😂

@6:01 the most quintessentially British cheer of all time...
(Richard can’t see in front of his boat) “I’ll need a sailing box” Richard gets me every time 😆
"how was your holiday?" "it was great, we went to the beach... and the top gear team emerged from the water in a white pick up truck." "..... w-what?" 0_o

“You will now drive to… Dover” The drop of both Jame and Hammonds faces is amazing
The Grand Tour needs to do this again properly. They must get the record!!

I don't know for sure but the record might've changed also the grand tour already got a UK record involving amphibious cars
How is it that merely a lot of "Ow"s can be such a funny recurring joke?

It's in the verbal part, like his famous "Helleu".
I try not to watch too much tv, but this show makes me genuinely happy. They're hilarious!!
3:28. Their reactions are perfect
Hammond: Hey there's a bit of water in here (Camera cut) Hammond and James: *floating on the water with life jackets as the car is sinking*
Hahaha.I think they're nuts but I admire their perseverance.

6:36 Ah good old Top Gear, leaving their comrades behind.
When James dropped the cup i just completely lost it.
It's like kids in the playground at school; Jeremy to Richard;" While you sink, again," ,"No- not this time"," it will"," it won't", "it just will"," it just won't"...... Brilliant.
These three managed to cross the channel in a welded amphibious Nissan truck. That's a human feat of engineering and top-class content

One Of The Best Examples Of Work From The Golden Trio!!! Love It!!!
Those three continuously honered the automobile in such magnificent ways. Top Gear just was a neverending homage to the car and let the world see cars are far more than just a tool to get from a to b, with this as its greatest triumph I think: crossing the North Sea in a pickup truck. But don't forget the other indestructable Hilux, the car that almost made it to space, all the "car vs plane/boat/etc." races, the expeditions, the "cars under 1500 pound" challenges and frankly every other little homage to the car or any part of it (the V8 blender comes to mind). So many Top Gear top tips and useful consumer advice. A must watch for car lovers.
“You drop it down in this slot, THATS A WOPPER “ 😂
