I love this movie and I watch it at least every year to yr and a half. I will never stop missing Whitney Houston. I was blessed with a beautiful voice and I could once sing her songs until I had throat infections and didn’t listen to drs and keep silent while sick. I lost my voice. We all lost Whitney.

I think Kevin was impacted by Whitney the way he actually saw her being in the movie. Seeing her as possibly a R&B diva and probably being impressed that she actually can act and has a wild unique personality that doesn't look like the personality on music videos. Costner has a natural introvert personality to him and Whitney has a natural wild extraverted personality about her that works together with chemistry.

Whitney and Kevin had a tremendous chemistry that made this movie one of the greatest of bittersweet love stories. The sound track itself is enormous, just adding to the talent of Whitney and the magnetic respect each had for one another. Costner’s eulogy at her funeral was evidence of this. I have watched the movie three times and anticipate seeing it again! ♥️. PS…Had race been brought up, I would have not watched it to completion. Both actors deserve accolades on their professionalism, merit, and talent, which has absolutely nothing to do with the color of their skin.

That’s why it got rejected so many times and that was before they even had an actor for it so I don’t think it had anything to do with Whitney being in it or her being black. She was freakin’ awesome in the film and just shone brightly in every scene. I bought the film and the soundtrack I played continuously. I also fell in love with Kevin kismet in this. Plus the little boy was really cute too! All in all it was a brilliant film. Sadly in those days , the critics had a lot of sway on what people went to see in the cinemas which is a shame.

@@iosdrippy1513 Give it a rest. It had nothing to do with a black woman having the leading role, you dolt. The two lead roles were actually written for a black actress and a white male actor, hell it was originally written for actor Steven McQueen and Diana Ross to be in the starring roles. So there goes your tired racism argument out the window. The critics were hard on it because of the type of movie it was, and lets face it, Whitney Houston was no actress, she was a singer, so her ability to pull the role off was in doubt. In the end she did a great job (not an Oscar award winning performance, course) for what it was. Study up on the history of things before you go running your mouth. Smdh

Suddenly, he shows up for one of the shows to help us out and, holy crap, that's the creepy guy that says "Nooooo" in the movie. I totally agree. I love make of and behind the scenes, when they actually tell you reall information about what happened. Too often you just get fluff these days .

Such decisions are what transcend a song from being good to becoming "Great". You have to break some generic rules to achieve greatness. It was the same with (A six-minute long) Behemian Rhapsody. They also asked if a "Jazz" producer should make Micheal Jackson albums. Even David Foster once said, "Good is the enemy of Great." Thank God he didn't have the final say on the opening of the song.

I was 11 when I first saw The Bodyguard in 1992. I remember the day as it was yesterday. It's such an emotional and powerful movie and I was just a kid but it had such an impact on me and it touched me in the bottom of my heart. There was so much chemistry between Whitney and Kevin. Some years later, in high school, I did a dance number and the song was Queen of the Night 🙂

Whitney Houston is one of my favorite singers. She's beautiful, amazing voice and talent. Sadly, gone too early but she will never be forgotten. She will live forever through her music and movies.

@@Nick-ol7sm See that is what I thought, then I heard some stuff. Apparently, Bobby didn't introduce her to drugs, but her brother did. He got her into cocaine in the mid-70's. However, getting involved with Bobby, a heavy drug user, didn't help and caused further deterioration. Regardless of who introduced her to what, I agree with your sentiment. If she was surrounded by people who actually cared about her, she very well could've been saved.

I watched this movie 10 times and I’ve been singing the song where ever I am and bought the tape and played it all the time that my dad said can we listen to other tapes I go crazy with that song… I just love Keven Costner He really fit to be to be a bodyguard movie and much move that I love Whitney Houston with her beautiful voice that can turn your feeling upside down just like her singing the How great thou Art. I love both of them and considered the movie as their perfect match and partnership. The song was really perfectly sang by Whitney. To both Keven and Whitney thank you for this very memorable movie together and May you rest in peace Whitney and Keven you’ll recover soon of your heartfelt and painful divorce just be positive and enjoy life with your kids they are your blessings. Will always love you💕💕💕
