That moment of Kevin Costner in that church that day humanized Whitney in a profound way. It still makes me cry to see this. He really saw Whitney the woman and clearly had a deep love for her.

Notice she said she understood the gift when she was singing for the lord in church as a teenager, but after she became a star for the world she lost the true essence eventually which is the anointing that was attached to her voice and who she was. This is what the devil does snuffs the anointing right from the person until they are lifeless. That voice, her looks her charisma her presence was all a gift from God and he wanted her truly to sing for him.

It's beautiful to see the love Kevin Costner had for Whitney Houston. I think he loved her more than she loved herself. Even before Kevin and The Bodyguard came into her life, she struggled. She struggled with drugs, she struggled with her relationship and eventual marriage to Bobby Brown. She struggled with the miscarriages she had and probably because of that, she struggled with her faith. I have never been pregnant as I cannot have children so I cannot even imagine the pain of having life grow inside of you only for it to die. I cannot imagine her mind creating turmoil blaming herself and what she had done to her body with drugs, work, stress etc. Here comes an opportunity for her to shine even brighter by now becoming an actress with Kevin Costner coming into her life with a big movie and then she becomes pregnant again and this time it's a beautiful baby girl in her arms alive and healthy. She's not just a singer/actress, now she's a mom. Those damn struggles were still there though, knocking at her door and calling out to her to open up. Now more records to record, more movie scripts to read, more struggles in her marriage and that blissed out feeling of being high and ready to work called her to what she knew, drugs could help her juggle everything. They helped her before and no one really knew. No one can ever know that call unless you've been through it. Sometimes it's louder than anything you can ever hear. And you think that maybe just a little bit could ease the tension. Just a little hit can help you get up and get to work. Take care of your child, your man, your job, your house. But it's never just a little bit. A little bit becomes a little bit more until it takes more than you can give. We can think back now and see the horrific ways both she and Bobbi Kristina left this world. Bobbi Kristina's body may not have died in her bathtub, that day at the hands of a evil man, but I think her soul went straight into God and her mother's arms. Now mother and daughter are together again and though it's heartbreaking we're still left with the legacy of their lives. May they both rest in peace. Lord knows they deserve rest and peace.

No counselor or psychologist etc would condone a recovering alcoholic drinking, even just a sip here n there. Any recovering addict is told to stay away from those substances and especially those who do them. You’re told to stay completely sober. It takes years or even decades of sobriety to be able to handle a glass of wine without relapsing. The fact that she was still drinking at this point was telling. 😔

@@heartartistic2604 I believe that although Whitney grew up in the church and her mom supported her later in the music industry, it was a wrong turn for her. Her purpose was to impact people for God that would reflect who He is and many would draw closer to Him. Whitney needed support from her mom and others around her to love her enough not that she made fame and riches, which God isn't against wealth but no one stepped for her considering her well being, soul and that the price she would pay is much greater than all the enemy would give her. She was searching really and didn't have peace because she wasn't in God's Will. I believe as she understood in her soul that she needed God and all the weight of fame, the music industry, her personal battles would destroy her. She wanted out and didn't know really how to surrender to God because she would have to give up everything to serve Him because you can't serve two masters. She signed contracts and was a slave to whatever she had to do. She was also so extremely beautiful, I believe we don't even know what all she more likely had to do as models have sex with prestigious men, and there was so much on her shoulders, she couldn't go anywhere without cameras and the media. She couldn't live she was like a slave though she had riches, she didn't have peace. I believe that the enemy snatched her life from her. Few know their last hour on earth, I believe she sensed the call of God and felt so distant from Him. If she earlier on repented and moved from that life which she battled God would accept her in. Though intentions are not what get to Heaven but sacrifice, obedience and living life pleasing to Christ. You have to be transformed though He give us free will to choose. The enemy snatched her after he used her for his plans. Salvation isn't what alot of churches are proclaiming, the real gospel and the ways of Christ and our obligation. It's a Narrow road and way it requires your life. Whitney would have had to give up her life, turn from it and go in the direction of Christ for truly Salvation as we all do.

As a man who likes pop music. I appreciated Whitney's huge talent. Hers was and is a a singular gift and she set a bar that few have ever reached. Yes I was and still am infatuated with her. As a man I perceived a niave vulnerablilty in her that illicited in me the desire to protect and keep safe. I will always love your performance as a talented actress and singer in the Body Guard and I think that is where my crush on Whitney Houston developed. I both miss her and mourn her passing and pray that her relationship with God was intact and that she now resides with Him in Heaven.

Whitney had immense pain and a turbulent life. Addiction is such a devastating disease because it wreaks havoc on every facet of your life. And its chronic. I think she forgot about that part, you have to constantly do the work and fight for your sobriety. She could never have conquered it while still having yes people, enablers and the same toxic environment which lead her down that path.
