To the ppl trying to speak Beyoncé name in the same category as Whitney... Please stop It's just disrespectful!

I'm a Beyonce Stan and I agree. Both totally different artists. But if they ever compare their vocals I will cackle. Whitney just had a voice like none could ever have. None will ever touch that voice.

Listen, @Never not Inspired. I am assuming you're under 21 maybe younger, you couldn't have been of age during Whitney's era.... I am a Bey fan as well, but you shouldn't even speak Bey's name in the same breath as Whitney! "I said what, I said!"

Beyoncé is "Good" for her generation, not the greatest. Although she has made lots of hits and has a great voice. But let's be real their are many ppl that's walking around that can out sing if not better than Bey. The only thing that separates them for her is opportunity.

Angel Esprit The thing is, we could say that about many artists. Michael Jackson for example. Although he was a great performer and singer there are many, even in this generation, that can out dance and out sing Michael. Even in the artistry department Prince was better than him. The only thing that separates Michael from the rest was, like you said, opportunity. There will always be someone better at something that the other is not. Mariah had a better range than Whitney, and many can argue Mariah was THE VOICE. And then vice versa. Il

Never Not Inspired I agree to the extent that it would definitely not be disrespectful comparing Bey to Whitney. But it's not a good comparison at all when it comes to two completely different artists. And it's obvious Whitney had the tone that one could only dream of. Possibly the best the music industry has ever seen. But Beyonce is a more versatile vocalist. And people need to notice that doesn't mean Beyonce is a better vocalist, she is just stronger in one area that Whitney is not as good as her in. And vice versa.

8 AMA's in one night, 11 BMAs in one night, nobody will ever touch her. Miss you Whitney. And this was in the era when fans actually bought music and didn’t rely on inflated streaming sales.

"of the old days" Whitney was ONLY 48 years YOUNG when she died from drugs...something she battled, heavy user heavy addiction including heroin, from since she was in her early 20's and before...and at this point, most within the industry knew she was a drug addict. She spoke about it herself before she died. tragic..she was given such a rare rare gift and this was the result.

@@diorrboyyyy It s not a matter of " comparing" !! Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson are absolutely great talented artists BUT to say MJ was just a dancer is wrong. Michael Jackson was a global artist, creative musician , entertainer, setting new paths in the music world , he broke barriers and opened the music doors to the black artists! His concerts in those times without "internet medias" were true uncomparable events, his choreographies inspired many artists of all generations ( from Beyonce' and so on). Still now watching his concerts is amazing to see the power and charisma of MJ and the bond he was able to generate with the audience! Whitney Houston had an incredible voice with such a wide range, no other female singers reached. It s good to remind that she was very friendly with Michael Jackson and both admired each other! Truly great artists!

And even then . . . there was just something unique about her that you couldn't help but be enthralled by. I'm afraid it will be quite a while before we see another package like that. The problem is that most of you guys are missing what made Whitney quite different than the others. It usually is indescribable, but quite simple. It was her spirit. That's why people adored her just a little bit more than the others. Her spirit seeped through the screen, the audio, the interview, everywhere. Have you ever noticed how people who first meet her can't stop speaking of how genuinely gracious she was and of sweet spirit (no faking, no acting, and it's quite obvious)? That's how she is when she sings, but usually people can't describe it. On top of that, her voice and technique. I listen to another artist and I say, "Wow, that was great!", but when it's Whitney, it's more of a shiver down the spine.

Normally on awards show there is a choice, back up track, live band or orchestra. That is Whitney's band that plays with her in concert! I remember this performance like yesterday I had my tv blasted recording it, and loving every minute. From my experience which is 2x I have gone to Whitney Houston's concerts and all I can say it's not a concert its an EXPERIENCE like no other. RIP baby!
