Talk about meeting the right person at the wrong time. I wish they could have been an item. He once stated in regards to her in the bodyguard. I kissed her once for American and then I kissed her again for myself. He said she was pretty over and over in a recent interview.

I think they seriously underestimate the power of Whitney's music as the reason for the success of this movie. The story works great, but without that extraordinary music, and without Whitney, there's no way it would have been this huge. It's important to give her that honest credit.

Hollywood executives are not known for waiting on anyone for a year to convince one person to be in the movie. Kevin knew exactly what he wanted. Even though the executives were against his idea.

Most actors don't look within and get therapy for their own well being. They prefer to be egotistical and self-destructive--Whitney did it to herself, and then her daughter followed. No real conscious intelligence in that family. Fame and Fortune is just superficial if you don't transform your inner self.

Girls are taught to have low self-esteem. It's not a natural thing. People who knew Whitney said she was kind and helped anyone she could. People forget it was her brother who introduced her to drugs. Sissy seems like nice lady, but a very tough one. I had a mom like that, and I can tell you they tend to be very narcissistic (helicopter moms).

Don't call it a waste! Whitney for her short life changed the music history and made such an impact no other female artist did! She broke all the records and still holds some and she is a singers singer and he voice! She died tragically but she made her impact forever! Don't call it a waste!!!!!

It is a waste of a life, the fact that she died so young, the fact that she did not hang around to help her daughter, the fact that she will not grow to be a beautiful old lady surrounded by the love of all those she impacted. The contribution she made to the world is nice, but the impact she had on her family is even more important. Maybe if she had been around her daughter might have made it, as well. As it is, we will never know and it is a waste of a beautiful woman caused by addiction and poor choices.

I went to see it when it came out in the theaters and when it came out on DVD I bought it and watched it often. I started binge watching it again when she died. She was the best singer out there. She didn't need to take off her clothes and do a lot of dancing to appeal to the audience.

Till this very day kevin Costner loved and will always live whitney in a recent interview he was asked"if he was to make a movie sequel which one of his movies would it be l" and of course his unapologetic answer was the Bodyguard if he could bring Whitney back that's what he would do" so if that's not love in the real sense then I don't know what live is in any sense.If she chose a life with him yes she would still be alive but he would have kept ALL the riffraphs away from her he knew her weakness and was very protective over her!!

Whitney did what she wanted. A person can't save you, you have to first want to save yourself. It wouldn't have mattered how much kevin loved Whitney if she didn't want to save herself. Even her own mother couldn't bring her off the edge with many attempts. It's easy to say oh if she was with Kevin than everything would've been fine, but that's really not reality. It's fairytale

@@denisewilliams8708 I believe your environment plays a role. It didn't help that she wasn't around someone to understand her fragile situation coming up as a child. BB couldn't save her because he had some trauma that he was dealing with as a child. Kevin on the other hand didn't have those serious issues, so yes he would have saved her. He is clearly way more protective. It is not that BB is a bad person, it is that he himself needed saving from his childhood trauma. Kevin would never put up with money hungry people coming around her.

He was the one who asked to have Whitney play opposite of him...once agreed upon it was done...I thought I saw more between them, (on the screen,) than just some really good acting...Kevin Costner was warm, funny & loving, for his loving friend...

During that time, they would have been the power biracial couple of the 90s. Oh my God, the boundaries that could have been broken. And the tongues wagging and had they been a couple. In my heart of hearts, I believe she still would have been alive today and been able to do everything she did. 20 to 40 years ago with her voice.

I'm quite certain Whitney would still be alive had she and Costner had married. Whitney was a tremendous talent but she need someone that encouraged her and gave her a belief in herself. Costner could and would have provided that.

Because she loved him! We all know he was no good for her, he tore her down. On the 2009 Oprah interview, she describes how he was as a husband, he was horrid and jealous but she loved him, she was his wive and thats what was important to Whitney, her vows. She was never gonna break them. But she did eventually find the strength to leave him and she was on her way to being Our Whitney again! Its all so sad, we miss you girl, RIP Her voice and spirit will live on though... Forever

San47di It's funny cause a year after The Bodyguard came out, he got a divorce from his first wife. That is one thing I don't understand. Sure they would've been nice together, as far as we know, but both were married or on their way to being so.. Not very realistic.

The ending was like WOW when I first saw it. :-)
