They have never heard of top thrill or Kingdaka because the mythical tiger she was based off of was a female and the mythical drag racing dude that top thrill dragster was based off of is a man. I believe that roller coasters were some of the first amusement rides ever made - they basically had people ride mine carts from the tops of mountains at high speeds on rails, which is essentially what roller coasters fundamentally are all about.

I've ridden other roller coasters, but I remember that this one was especially terrifying as a kid. Not only because of the height, but realize that there's no harness. All that's holding you in is a lap bar. They don't need it since you never go upside down, but it makes you feel so exposed.

Imagine the coaster getting stuck and having to climb down... I wouldnt be able to. I'd freeze and grip for dear life. Especially stairs with the open space in the back, always afraid of falling through 😂

I remember going on this for the first time when it had just opened. I had my mom my dad and my best friend and I was petrified. The hardest part was going up the main lift hill.

It's not there now, but for a few years, Six Flags Over Georgia had a coaster called the Georgia Cyclone, which was modeled after the Cyclone at Coney Island. I remember when their Great American Scream Machine was the world's longest, fastest, and highest coaster. It now pales in comparison to some of the more modern coasters.

I think OP was referring to tallest Full Circuit Coaster Drop. Superman EFC is a shuttle coaster. Goliath held the title of longest drop for 4 months, until Millennium Force from Cedar Point opened. Adding 50ft to the record, and breaking the giga barrier. With Top Thrill Dragster breaking the Strata barrier, and KingDa Ka holding the current record at almost twice the height of goliath.

Are we just gonna ignore the fact that there’s a taller RollerCoaster in the same park.

KaiKai Marie there isn’t one. this is in six flags over texas called “titan” been on it several times and it still is the tallest one in the park and the “taller coaster” is actually a part of this ride. the only one that comes somewhat close is the texas giant but is still shorter.

Yeah Goliath wad pretty fun when I rode it. But I think Twisted Colasis was even better imo, or that Flying Dragon one was also 🔥. In Fuji-Q, that 120° drop was remarkable ngl. I like rollercoasters.

I felt this ride just watching the video. I went on a ride that was exactly like this at six flags. It was so fun too

Here is a FACT! This video was posted in 2009. Kingda Ka opened in 2005 and has a 400+ foot drop and still has the record. And even in 2000 when Goliath opened, Millennium Force at Cedar Point opened and has a 300 foot drop compared to 255 feet.

And in between kingda ka and mill force there was the top thrill dragster (also at cp) that was tallest in the world UNTIL k.k. was made (now is the second tallest/fastest in world) it is still there to this day so maybe at one point this was a super tall ride but it isn't the tallest and probably never was A/N: I don't mean any hate by this but I've been to c.p. 20+ times and I know it like the back of my hand and I've been on both k.k. and top trill at least 1 time each and I enjoy wasting my time on trying to help people know roller coaster facts as well as I. and considering the fact that if you look carefully, you can see X does not have the pink and yellow color scheme, meaning that it was X2 when this was recorded. X2 opened in 2008 which means, it had to be filmed from 2008 to 2009

Mark Mittermayer the year this ride opened (2000) another ride millennium force had a 300ft drop whereas this one in the video has a 200ft drop, so Goliath never had the biggest drop in the world :-)

For 14 years ago, I’m very impressed at the camera quality! This wasn’t even the GoPro era.

We have this exact same ride at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington Tx. It is called The Titan. It's a 214 foot drop at 85 mph. Very safe, it works strictly by G-Force. No one has ever been hurt on this ride either. Very fun!! We rode it over and over 2 weeks ago just before the park closed. Thrilling!!!

@@brockhuso4885 eltoros accident was a fault in intamins ride and the second accident was because of the weather and many other factors if you wanna learn more about both of these go to eltororyans youtube channel dragster never had a accident it was just a piece of metal from the train that hit someone not the ride having a failure i cant say the same for eltoros derailment but they fixed it so it cant happen again both of these rides will open and i gurrentee you there will never be a accident on them again. it is extremely rare for an injury on a coaster and a death on a coaster is even more rare.

Hsdhdu Hxhdhs when this video was filmed, the tallest rollercoaster in the world as of today (kingda ka) was built. so even before there was always a rollercoaster taller than this. i did my research! 🙂

In response to GP members in this comment section who think they are smart: -goliath has nowhere near the tallest drop. that belongs to kingda ka. -some people are saying that when this video was published in 2009 goliath was the tallest. WRONG! There are many coasters with a larger drop that opened before 2009. -this is goliath at six flags magic mountain, not raging bull. just because a coaster is orange does not make it raging bull. -this is not at six flags new england. SIX FLAGS AS A JILLION RIDES NAMED GOLIATH! Ramennoodlesand Tacobell it's 220 or something like that. It's a hyper I don't know the exact hight though but it's less than 250. The world's tallest coaster is 450 feet tall build in 2005
