UPDATE: I'm seeing a lot of comments about the "drop" being smaller. Nothing was changed to the ride path or the drop, it's all the same length and size. Only changes were surrounding the path.

When i was on that ride i completely forgot about the drop at the end because of the two dinosaurs at the end looking sooooo real. When the drop came i COMPLETELY freaked out because it caught me off guard💀💀

Yeah. I went on the ride this summer knowing about the drop cause these videos. But my dad didnt know, so I got to see his genuine reaction. He was so distracted by the rex he didnt see the drop and nearly dropped his phone

As someone who has taken the original ride MULTIPLE times, I can definitely say seeing this gives me a mixture of feelings. I love Jurassic World, so I'm happy to see it updated, but I am also a bit sad to see that the ride is no longer Jurassic Park. My feelings are definitely mixed on this, to be perfectly honest.

The key part of the illusion is that they know exactly where the viewer is. It would look very strange if you were anywhere except the boat during this segment. When your boat is right by the first screen, the last screen is likely showing a distorted image that only looks correct from the long angle you're viewing it from in your position way back at the first screen. It's like those trippy sidewalk chalk perspective illusions, but on giant TVs.

This looks amazing, thanks for that. It would be kinda cool if one of the initial voice-overs was from one of those 'kid' employees like in the first Jurassic World flick. Like "uh, I think one of the big ones just jumped over that fence. Wait does that mean they're free? What do I do I can't find my employee binder... what do you mean don't shout into the mike?" 😂😂😂

I rode this first time in 2009; and the last deop scared ne ao much because the sync was right on point when the dino apeared. Next time in 2013 i went with my sister, and I knew it was coming so I didn't look and my sister got scared lol... I LOVED IT

I’m just glad that these are animatronics and not just screens. Great improvement for this ride and universal studios in general.

I can kinda understand why they made the whole beginning a screen section. They probably knew when they opened it as Jurrasic World that there was more absolutely insane animatronics in the work so having a section with all screen wasn't so bad

I went on this ride with my cousins and best friend, and nobody told me there was going to be a huge drop, I was too busy dodging all the dinosaurs that I didn’t even realize there was a HUGE drop I just screamed and hoped it would end, it felt amazing. u feel so calm then u feel fear then after it’s over u started laughing wanting to go back on it (around night time cuz that’s when the lines are empty) and when u go on it a second time u feel so much fear and excitement bc u already know what’s gonna happen. then u fall and want to go back on it, me and my cousin and best friend went on it so many times, we even challenged ourselves to look up instead of down, we even held hands and sat in the front, it’s such a adrenaline rush, i personally hate drops and although the drop is horrifying it’s also really fun, highly recommend this ride

Can we just appreciate how smooth the robots movements are? They look so freakin real unlike the first ones.

Those animatronics are amazing and massive! The huge screens are underrated as well, those are massive and look very realistic in depicting the 3D movement of the depth as the boat moves through the ride. A+ update.

I love the detail on this ride. It’s like the movie got brought to life. Those dinosaurs look very convincing, and the way they pop up out of the dark like that is really cool and intense. Looks like a lot of fun.

Yeah, and this ride is like a combination of the Dinosaur ride from Disney's Animal Kingdom and Splash Mountain, too. And yet, you get to see animatronic dinosaurs and go down the toilet near the end of the ride at the same time, too!😄

The Indominus animatronic is next level, especially seeing it next to all the others. Not a single one moves as fluidly as it does. I'm glad they put the most effort into the biggest dinosaur you get to see. My sister freaking cried

Rode this in May, I was terrified. We laughed it off after the droo but I will admit, the drop was higher than I expected.

While it was rlly cool to see the differences after the Jurassic World Series, I prefer the ride from its original state. The thrill of just barely missing the jaws of the trex as we went down the main splash was part of what made it so thrilling. But I’ve also seen the original in person and this one only thru the screen. Just my thoughts

I love stuff like this. Makes me feel like a kid again.

I was thinking the same thing! Not like everywhere else where the head moves side to side with jerky movements! It was flawless! It's all the details with the Disney lands! Even while queueing!

The drop made my heart stop it was so fun lol. Next time I go to universal I’m going on it again

Btw I’ve done this ride in Singapore and Tokyo. Singapore ride was much much much shorter. As a rider it felt like way more than half shorter than Japan. The Japan drop on this ride is insane I’m a ride junkie and went on it at least ten times and it’s so high every single time I was at the top looking down I was like how is this even possible and every single time I’d go to scream and no noise would come out because I’m in so much shock

Back in October I went on this twice and I felt like on the second round the drop was way steeper and it worse enough on the 1st round but the second round I actually passed out. I liked this ride just not the drop 😂

I remember the first time on that ride a almost 5 years ago. Wasn’t expecting that drop at the end. It literally sucked the air out of my lungs. So scary and so much fun when you’re not expecting it.

I have a story like that lol, I was at California adventure with me, my mom, and my little brother. We decided it would be fun to go on The guardians of the galaxy ride. Here’s the catch, we thought it was a small and fun VR ride. My brother is super scared of bud roller coasters so we thought it we be a good experience. So we get on, and there are seatbelts. I brush it off a decorative, and we get started. Everything was fine, for the first few seconds. And those who know the ride knows what happens next, but if you don’t we shot up SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET IN THE AIR, AND FULL FORCE DROPPED BACK DOWN. This happened several times. I was holding my breath for dear life, my mom was petrified, and my brother was balling his eyes out. After, my brother gained minor trust issues to what rides really were. We still had a lot of fun in the park though

Oh, not for me. My sister was in charge of the park map and I think thought this ride was basically just like the first part of it - just a pleasant little boat ride with dinosaurs. So none of us knew there was a drop at the end. I was lifted out of my seat on the drop - thank goodness for safety bars - and was basically traumatized for the entire rest of the day and I'm even still scared of Splash Mountain despite the drop being less dramatic.

Same here! I had no idea it was coming, or that it would be that long of a drop. Definitely one of the most memorable rides at the park.

Whoever made this ride is a genius, I love how they used the actual actors to be the ones warning people and asking them to calm down, one day I'll go there 🤩😁

I just went here today, it was incredible, one of the best rides I’ve ever been on, first time I was at a theme park in about 4 years

every single time i reach the end of this ride, my legs are always shaken up from the insane drop lol

That last section looks fantastic! I’m just a little sad that they removed the voiceover right before the drop that goes “get out of there! It’s in the building, IT’S IN THE BUILDING!” To me that detail really made the tension that built up right before the drop

@@discoshark7767 um people because do things they shouldn't do, all the time. Like smoke and drink. If someone is prone to have panic attacks, its best not to go on these types of rides. They would want to go on this ride, but they should not. Then complain of a panic attack, when they choose to go on a scary ride.

I rode it once when i was like 6 or 7. That drop scared the crap outta me and i only rode it that one time😂 that being over 10 years ago I remember a bigger drop💀

This is absolutely amazing. Ive been an animatronic fan for a long time, and this really blows my mind. Cant wait to see this next year!

Watching this reminds me of my senior trip at Universal. Back then it just Jurassic Park the ride. That was 10 years ago.

I don't understand people who find this scary, I find it extremely fascinating and amazing. I wish I could experience it myself.

"How manly you are." Or "how manly you're." Because you're is pronounced "your" it's used for sentances like "you're going to regret that."

I’m actually a scaredy-cat, something that looks real no matter if I know it’s fake with these things I get scared, in my daily life I at least get startled 3 times a day minimum, I’m a grown adult but I get scared and being an empath and hsp isn’t necessarily helping me either to get less scared. However everyone is different.

I went to Universal a month ago. Still can't get over how INCREDIBLE this ride was. My mom went on the original about six years ago and she loved. By the time we got to the park, it was like 9 in the morning with almost nobody there. She straight up RAN to this ride immediately. Me and her bf were like "Are you sure you wanna get soaked this early" and she just pulled us into the ride. This was my very first time on this ride btw. The animatronic that walks at the end really blew my mind. And the drop was a lot steeper than I thought. It was so crazy. We ended up going on it four times. Two in the day and two at night. IF YOU'RE GOING TO UNIVERSAL IN THE FUTURE, PLEASE DO THIS RIDE AT NIGHT. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Definitely one of my favorite rides.

Jokes aside, jumping off is very dangerous due to the mechanical moving parts underwater. There's at least one occurrence of a child dying after getting caught in some cog or smth

Totally agree with you, I have never been to something like this but from the beginning I was in awe over the special effects. Looks so real in the tanks with them swimming around. Hope I can take my kids to something like this one day! Great work indeed!

I was at Universal when the revamped the backlot when they opened the new Fast & Furious ride portion. It's all projector, as is the Transformers ride. Shrek and Minions are also projection based to a degree.

i will never forget the anxiety i had on this ride. i wanted to die when the boat started to ascend into the t rex cove. best ride at universal
