For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.

As long as you fit the height lrestrictions (which doesn't even matter unless you're way too short for it or taller than the maximum), and don't do anything stupid, you'll be 99.999999...% safe. An average of four people die annualy from rollercoasters, and generally it's their own fault for ignoring safety protocol. Yoou'll be fine. As for the Acrophobia (fear of heights), just pretend you're not that high up and focus on how fun they really are.

That's a dirty trick. Of course, you could build a toy model of that fake picture and use projectile motion to make the cars land correctly. But I wouldn't try it using real cars with people inside.

Anna Rice they aren’t necessary. They’re only there to decrease liability. The lapbar/shoulder harness automatically locks in the station and can never be unlocked unless you have a certain key for the train or the train pulls back into the station. Seatbelts aren’t required by safety officials because they know just how safe the restraints are alone.

Anna Rice The way the restraints work are quite ingenious. There’s a small switch on the bottom of the train that when pushed up unlocks the restraints and when pushed down locks the restraints. The switches are spring locked and when the train rolls into the station, a bar beneath the track rises to push the switch up, which unlocks the restraints. Since they are spring loaded into the down position, there is physically no way to unlock a restrain without a hydraulic bar (press) underneath the track.

8:18 the seatbelt doesnt really do much in terms of safety its mainly there for a extra safety mechanism if others fail and it mostly is there to make guests feel safe

I LOVE roller coasters. Especially the ones that go upside down 💛💛

We call that 2 ride a "Bob" here in Hungary 🙂 I don't know about anyone dying on it, but I did see some people leaving the trail after speeding up, don't worry, it's quite safe, mostly because it's so close to the ground 😁

#5 That one reminds me of this hanging roller coaster I went on in Orlando, Florida 13 years ago. I think it was called Shamu or something like that.

1:50 is not going to leave you dizzy compared to the rides at Six Flags In Illinois! Literally rides there will go in 60 mile per hour in more than 4 loops at a time. Especially that seatbelt one, it’s hilarious to think that people believe this is deadly. The seatbelt is there just to make sure if the hydraulic lock fails (which almost never happens) it’s still safe. Hell I’ve ridden a Vecoma Slc with my seat unbuckled and here I am!

@@Dr-Peppy I've only ever ridden SFA's Mind Eraser and I don't remember it having an actual seatbelt, just a belt to keep the OTSR down in case the locking mechanism failed.

I kind of wish you would have put the Cheetah Hunt in there from Busch Gardens of Orlando Florida it's pretty fast and it's an awesome roller coaster...💯💯💯

I used to hate roller coasters, however, my school field trip to a theme park last year changed my mind about it, and now, I LOVE roller coasters! I was even brave enough to ride the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Disney World which is now my most favorite roller coaster EVER!!

And slingshot isn’t a roller coaster either.

Air is a Fling coaster not a flying coaster. (I’m kidding I’m not a GP)

I am absolutely terrified of rollercoasters. My cousin invited me to chessington, I only went on one roller coaster. It's called tiger rock, it's a water coaster. It's supposed to be soothing, but there are two drops which are terrifying.

Got to ride Kraken, when it was virtual reality ( only for a short time, then they stopped ) But I have to say, it’s one of the most amazing coaster rides you’ll ever have ! I think people that don’t like roller coasters would really enjoy the virtual reality ones, your so immersed in the scene, it’s all you can see, so the movement of the coaster “feel” like the movie moments, you can’t even tell when your going upside down. A must do for any coaster lover ☮️💟&🦄’s

I love roller coasters. They aren’t as scary if you just go up and ride them. I think the scariest part is the intimidation.
