Becoming a minimalist was the only way I did not went insane during the lockdown. It helped me have some purpose when I could do nothing else and in the same time made my environment cleaner and better for the mind.

What an eye-opening video! I appreciate how this video explores the concept of minimalism and its profound impact on various aspects of our lives. Your explanation of the hedonic treadmill is particularly fascinating. It illustrates how material possessions can offer temporary happiness, yet that happiness often reverts to a baseline level. Your explanation makes it clear that minimalism isn't about deprivation, but rather intentional living.

The concept of minimalism indeed goes beyond just reducing material possessions; it's about intentional living and focusing on what truly matters to us. Understanding the hedonic treadmill, which is the idea that we quickly adapt to new possessions and return to a baseline level of happiness, is a crucial aspect of why minimalism can lead to greater contentment.

Interesting to see minimalism popping up again, it was considered to be a fad a few years ago that skyrocketed and then plummeted in popularity. But seems it's now having a resurgence again?

For those of you that grew up without a lot of money this may be easier to achieve. However if you always had a lot growing up you may find this practice more challenging.

People are consumers, always looking for assurance that their right or doing the right thing... The simple answer is eat fruits, vegetables and nuts only, avoid meat, go for walks and exercise, boom rocket science. Obviously finding the best diet and adding super foods is more complex, but taking the simple route easier.

@@Anonymoose66GI completely agree. If I won the lottery it would make me very happy in that I could afford the best food, best medical care, to have great experiences and travel, a home large enough for my needs in a safe area and to assist friends, family and the charities I support. Those who say money doesn't make them happy have their values all wrong. It's a hard life when you don't have money!
