I think this is a problem in todays society of personal development: We have way too many goals and therefore feel the pressure of them oftentimes we don't get anything achieved because of that. I also see this reverse principle in weightloss!

I totally get the point you're saying But exactly what are we supposed to do? Keep sulking about all the things we could have or we could be / make an effort trying to achieve them / die trying our best vs regret not working hard enough? What sort of situation is this? I've been working so hard for the last few months to improve my score in a standardized test. I've done everything I possibly can despite all the time constraints. But things don't seem to improve enough for me to feel confident.

One time in high school, we were bowling for PE, and I tried my best to do well, but I performed below average. Then, as we were waiting for the bus I decided to roll a few more balls, not caring how I did because no one was keeping score. I ended up getting 3 strikes in a row when I didn't care how I did. 😲

OMG this explains something I do at work. When I'm putting myself under pressure to find where something goes, I get frustrated and just put it down to go back to late. Often I instantly find where it goes.

I apply this to my relationship. After being in a relationship where every day was a struggle to stay together and keep things going smoothly, I vowed never to try so hard in a relationship again. So whenever things get rocky I let go, stop trying, and every time it works out. He just does the thing naturally what I wanted him to do (whatever it is). And our relationship is just getting easier and easier and happier and happier.

The law of reversed effort is what we simply need to apply in our daily lives. I do sometimes apply the principle of this law in different areas of my life ,and it yields positive results. When I try too hard to achieve something that is beyond my capacity ( studying many hours a day for example) I often do not reach the expected results and I face many obstacles. Conversely, when I relax and try to find balance in my life I end up doing many things and being very productive.

I believe Rugby as a sport is a great metaphor for reverse effort. Your body is tempted to jarr into the opposition. However, the ball carrier makes a reverse effort to find a way, a more measured approach, while the rest of the teammates buy time by keeping opposition barred.

If I am not wrong, if one uses reverse effort excessively. I think it pulls them into overthinking again. My body becomes numb. Somehow the response is surrendering, kind of the opposite of being assertive and opposite of reversed effort. If you know about this situation, please make a video.

1:47 one thing I’ve (just) learned about sleep is this. When I was young I didn’t know what caffeine was so now I only drink decaffeinated drinks. But if I’m not in bed by 10-12. I’m up all night. Out of this past week when I play on my phone instead of going to bed the moment i get sleepy I wake up in the middle of the night or stay up.

Yeah, but there is also a saying that "only dead fish swim with the stream". Effort and struggle makes you stronger. If you tried so hard and got so far, in the end it *does* even matter.
