The Betrayal of Ben Novack Jr

Ойын-сауық

Ben Novack Jr was the heir to the mighty Fontainebleau fortune. Or what was left of it. However, when something happened to him in a hotel in New York, an investigation began with something suspicious also happening to his mother, and another inheritor of fortune, three months earlier.

I watch a lot of _Dateline_ and _48 Hours_ and _20/20_ - you’re shocked, I know - but on one of any of the multitude of true crime shows that I watch, a defense attorney said something that truly made me giggle, “This man right here, he’s innocent. I *actually* believe in *this* clients innocence.” I’ve bolded the words that the attorney put emphasis on, almost an unnecessary amount of emphasis, an amount of emphasis that gave me the distinct feeling that the lawyer was casting doubt on the innocence of ALL his past clients. Like, “Yeah, yeah, forget about all my past guilty clients. Now, this guy, my current client - he’s ACTUALLY innocent.” Now, I’m sure that many of his clients _weren’t_ innocent but, I mean, that statement he made and the way he made it just didn’t really seem like something that would inspire confidence in would-be future clients. But it’s totally possible that I’m reading too much into it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@chazgeorgebatmanhotline7069 I would say that is extremely unlikely considering if they were actually seeing how she would react and monitoring her, then they would have been well aware that she wasn't done with her hit list. So either the police knowingly sat back and let her and her henchmen kill Ben or they didn't have a God damn clue that the mother was murdered. It also wouldn't have taken so long for them to build a case against her to the point that arrest could be made. They'd have had everything they needed. The sad truth is, if you're not looking for murder then a crime scene rarely looks like a crime scene. The opposite is true as well though, if you're only looking for murder, then everything looks suspicious.

Old people do. My grandmother nearly died on one step up to her back door. Shattered her hip really badly. She was in her 90s and living alone. Her daughter would have visited the next day. Luckily, a neighbor heard her. She probably wouldn't have lasted the night.

and when the daughter went missing it would be because she "ran away". When they eventually found her body it would be "suicide". Actually Benji's murder was in a less lazy jurisdiction than his Mom's was, so it's a moot point, but I do agree that some police forces are ridiculously lazy in their investigations in order to quickly clear cases. I live in a town in Canada where the local RCMP decided that they needed brand new offices just weeks after it was announced that a brand new light industrial/commercial park was going to be built. Where? Well right across the highway from where the new Tim Hortons doughnut shop was being built of course! There are rumours of a tunnel and if you need a cop that where all their cruisers are hanging out. They don't even get fat! It pisses me off...

These cases terrify me but fascinate me at the same time. So much so, I watch them solely on my phone on preview mode with captions on with barely any volume. Am I the only one?! I just can’t fathom how people can be so messed up but I’m also very interested in learning these behavioral patterns in psychopaths so I won’t let them in my life. I was already married to a narcissist so that was traumatizing enough. I’ve definitely become very aware of people and more cautious ever since I started watching these videos. Thank you for sharing this information with us in such an educational way. These subjects were very taboo when I was growing up so it’s nice to finally be able to have an outlet for my curiosity for criminal psychology. The most heartbreaking ones are always the ones involving kids but I always need to know the pets left behind were rescued or didn’t suffer if killed.

Right? You can tell the detectives arent buying any of her shit. She is far to calm and collected, taking a long time to think of what to say next. The murder style is obviously personal. The way the body was posed in bondage, and the eyes removed. That screams close relation to the victim. Her trying to be smug about how he was found probably fired off warning signs. Absolute idiot. Than she immediately assaults her own flesh and blood confirming her problems with rage and violence
