Back in the day in the early 80s, Citizen tried to go high end and sold an eco drive titanium dive watch and strap with a high end metal (no plastic) and jewel movement for RRP $600. It was not popular and I picked one up for $350 on sale. I replaced the rotary dial with an 18k gold ring and it still is a good watch today. Lightweight, no scratches, strap fits perfectly with no wear sloppiness. Aged better than a stainless steel Rolex from that time.

Bought the Mido Ocean Star 200c Titanium...honestly... the best buy ever... such a nice watch, with the dial, the 80 Hour power reserve movement, and running +1s/ day... I am deeply impressed. Bought it for an everyday solution and don't regret it at all... the black dial with the "waves" in it and the titanium bracelet is so beautiful. Very comfortable to wear, and thanks to the titanium very light too. I honestly think that it is one of the best Value for Money watches. I was looking for a good titanium and the 200c looks a bit different than the one you mentioned but when I googled the one you showcased here the 200c showed up and I was all fire from the first second I saw it :-), so thanks for inspiring me!

Zelos Mako V3 is an outstanding value watch. Mine arrived out of the box +9s a day. for well under $1000 this is just a phenomenal timepiece. Hardened to 1200 vikers with 300m water resistance nothing can stop this watch. Also the quick sizing in the clasp is amazing and can be made to be tighter without even opening the clasp for on the move adjustments with a firm squeeze of the bracelet near the clasp, Great if you have a wrist the expands like mine. watches 10x the price don't offer the same value proposition. (im not paid to say this, I just love them)

I wore Ti Citizen watches for a couple of decades, before becoming interested in mechanical watches, and still have a soft spot for them. Initially bought Ti because I THOUGHT stainless steel bracelets were stretching out of shape on me, and thought Ti would solve that. Turns out, it was just the CHEAP folded stainless bracelets on cheap watches that were my issue. Silly, and cheap, me. :) That being said, I do like the strength and weight of Ti, and have a Zelos arriving in the mail today! Can't wait to slip it on the wrist.

While the titanium Grand Seiko bracelets can feel disconcerting in their weight, comfort wise it makes the watches wear like a dream. I love how silky smooth the high intensity titanium feels and how GS bevels the bracelet edges to make it not dig into a wrist.

If your not totally against Quartz, I love my Casio Oceanus OCW-S100. Titanium case and bracelet, sapphire, 100M water resistance, solar Quartz that can instantly set to different time zones, and is radio controlled with perpetual calendar. It’s always spot on accuracy, well made and finished. Not easy to get in the US, but for $500 it’s my go to daily wear. The only downfall is the integrated bracelet….

Couple of months back I got a Citizen Titanium pro master gmt. Had to get it serviced after 4 days as there ended up being tiny debris on the dial. Then I discovered it is made in Thailand with a Japanese movement which would explain the cheap price and less than exceptional quality control. But since then it’s been great. Light weight and sapphire crystal is clear. Painted bezel now has a few tiny nicks but for me this is a daily tool watch.

The bracelet versions retail at US$18,300 and US$14,100 respectively but should be possible to get some discount on those prices. The Fifty Fathoms is large though with a 45mm diameter case. The microbrand Boldr makes some very nice titanium watches. I had a mechaquartz chronograph of theirs last year, and it was light, comfortable and had a sharp design (similar to the squared-off Zenith style.) Unfortunately I ended up selling it because I bought it as a watch to use at work, and the size was just too small (38mm case w/ a very small face to have all that chrono stuff crammed into it.) If you're just looking for style, however, you could do a lot worse.

Hi Teddy, Thanks for a very interesting upload. I have to say that I like to see lots of different brands presented and that lots of them looks nice. However it’s a bit surprising to me that a brand like Girard Perregaux doesn’t make it on a list like this? How about the GP Sea Hawk Pro 3000m? Why is this masterpiece not included? This watch really fills all the criteria for a no1 on this list.

Come to think about it, I would love to see a Tissot PRX in titanium.

If you want something in a lower price range, check out the Seiko SGG731 for about 350 US, though it was much less just a year or two ago, like half as much.

Similar to the Mido at 4:17 is the Certina DS Action Titanium, RRP $1050. The key difference is the Certina meets the ISO 6425 spec...

I would love to see Marathon make a titanium GSAR. But, sadly there doesn't seem to be many titanium watches it a style that strikes my fancy.

I like for my watch to have some heft. I’ve never found a “lightweight” watch compelling. The weight almost feels like theirs substance to it. Maybe I just need to try the Titanium.

That citizen looks amazing, but I need to stop myself from buying another citizen diver.
