UPDATE: After publishing, we received some internal feedback from our Paint Development Team and lab correcting some information about the new Fanatic Metallics. These paints use a hybrid combination of aluminum and mica flake which can present a lot like pure aluminum. The benefit of this is that each metallic paint is fine-tuned to meet specific metrics for coverage, sheen, colour, and reflexivity. Overall, we’re very confident that the Warpaints Fanatic Metallics are an improvement for hobbyists of all skill levels.

I'm so excited for you guys, and watching you guys be excited about your own work is best. I love metallics and seeing as we will get more metallics makes me excited! Guys, can you move up the dates so we can get this stuff sooner!

I cant wait to get my hands on the complete set all 216 colors. think it is worth the investment. based on the 3 colors i already have tested. and these metallics looks insane. putting down my order as soon as posible

how do you know its worth the investment? Because of 3 colors? If someone give me bold titanium white, bold pyrrole red and blue from PA i couldnt say that the metallics and ivories are mediocre to bad. It impossible to get 216 colors right. But ok, spend 500 bucks in a shiny box with much plastic in it.

@@Gloomshimmer i trust in the product, and i know Army painter do as well. i have seen reviews and i know they have great customer service. Recently i had a faild bottle of speed paints. They gave me a voucher for 3 bottles in their store free shipping.

The mattalic speedpaints have become my new go to mettalics. If the finish on these is as good as they are but with better coverage and a little more flow control, these will be huge. My biggest fear is that i will break down and drop $760 on the complete set of fanatics, my biggest hope is that when i do, they will convert me fully to AP. Love your guys' style. Would love the next video to be on effects paint. Really wanna see the blood paint in action

If you do, definitely watch some real reviews. These videos are nice to watch, but we need to keep in mind that they are also very biased ads from a company after all.

@@HannesMrg oh, Im aware, but I am very happy with the SpeedPaint 2.0 line (again, especially the metallics) and most real reviews I've seen has largely placed them in the ProAcryl level, which is my preferred brand currently bar a few not so great colors. I won't be getting the complete set immediately, if mostly due to cost and not having enough time to plan ahead knowing the price, so that should also give me time to see the first boxes go out and see opinions. As it is right now though, I'm excited. If they are comparable to ProAcryl, but all the paints do behave the same across the board like they claim (which is my largest skepticism atm), with that many colors to choose from these do have the potential to be something stellar.

@@HannesMrg You don't see many truly honest reviews these days , people too scared of upsetting manufacturers . It's like everyone is a massive fan boy of everything they get given for free . The GW related channels are the worst , i'm pretty sure some of those are funded by GW in some way as promo channels

Oh, you won me by showing those Freeguild Steelhelms. I would LOVE to see one of those videos showcasing the new colors painting one of these Cities of Sigmar foot soldiers with the new Warpaints! These ones in the video looks absolutely perfect.

I gotta try these! As a gunpla painter, I'd love to have an 80% black metallic that I won't need to mix to get!

Do you reckon they will be out next year then ? They probably are already made and sitting in a warehouse till the hype hits its peak level . Mind you Vallejo are just as bad with release dates , the second range of xpress has been pushed back at least 5 times now

I'm personally interested in the colors Rough Iron (always loved that color) and Death metal (just want to try it, or at the very least see what the color looks like). Yay finally aluminium flakes, they're gonna get so much better. :D Hope they are nice and thick for good brush application. :)

Using an aluminium base sounds a bit like VMC, which if that's similar makes this VERY interesting. Can't wait to pick up a few of these and play around with.

This is basically the number one thing you could have done to START boxing with the big boys. You went so much further.

im interested to see the greys, light greys, off white and white paints both cold and warm tones to see how well the coverage is on them so far been using corax white but after painting 6 terminators with it i feel like crying that its finally over and want to use a different paint and dump corax forever

Ooh boy, I'm going to have to try these. I went on a big quest to find the best metallics a few years ago, after realising there was something indescribable I disliked about the majority of metallics on the market. It turns out the mica was the bit I didn't like, because the brands I settled on almost all turned out to use real metals of some sort or other. I don't get why it's the standard shiny pigment for metallic paints, when it isn't even a metal, but a pearlescent silicate mineral (which shows in the finish, the shadows especially are just never what you'd expect from true metal). Still, it'll be sad to see the pre-2012 Citadel metallics finally go off the market though ;)

Is there a color match here for the AP Talos Bronze SP? My guess is Red Copper is pretty close, but if there's a color match that would make my life a bit easier when working on larger, flatter surfaces. Changing from mica flakes to aluminum flakes is a great change. I look forward to seeing how these metallics perform in person!

This very is bery important to me since I paint bright gold on my golden boys - Stormcast Eternals. This metallic paint is very important to me and is the one paint that if you can demonstrate to me, will absolutely have me sold on the new set. That said, I want to ask these very important questions. 1) Is bright gold 100% color match to the old warpaint bright gold? 2) Is the coverage of this new bright gold at least 2x times better than the old bright gold. I use 3 to 4 coats of bright gold (amazing that it doesn't wash any details but maybe that's why I need to do up to 4 coats to hide the under coat of primer). If this can half my base coating time, that would be amazing.

Ditching the Mica for actual metal flake is a genius move. If these Fanatic Metallics are as good as Speedpaint Metallics then this is fabulous news 👏💪👍👌

I can't wait to pick them up. I just want to know if enchanted steel has changed. It was my favorite metallic. Yall never disappointed me so far. I'm forever Tema Army painter. Will you also be making color/hyper shift paints? I hope you do.

I need bit of advice from the experts.... I glass myself still a beginner painter and started with my son 6yrs ago. But the last 4yr stopped, now back to miniature painting and all my Citadels dried up and looking to buy new set of Army Painter instead as like what I hear about the company, its goals, etc. I had decided nearly... on SP2 as I really like the Speed Paint 2.0 but now with Fanatics paints coming Q1 I tempted to wait. But what I really like to see is a Army Painter Vs video showing SP2 Vs Fanatics so someone like me with limited budget / experience can decide if the new Fanatics is better buy, future proof set to purchase over SP2. Hopefully I get few replies here to help (as im drowning in YT videos trying to make the right budget and future proof choice)

We do have some coloured metallics in the new Fanatics range, such as Dark Emerald, Cobalt Metal, and Glittering Green. Some of the older ones are being phased out, although, Who know's what the future may hold?

The Colour Match system is still in place between Warpaints Air, Warpaints Fanatic, and our Colour Primers.

Metallics in all ranges are a hit or miss. Will be good to see what these ones are like.. Think ill buy a few to try before going all out. I currently have all the pro acryl range and a ton of AK Interactive with some gw, Army painter, vallejo, green stuff world. Damn ive got some paint fetish lol...

Metallic speedpaint is disappointed as contrast paint. But I found it as an easy to use metallic paint. My hope for fanatic line is it can get consistent coverage regardless the base color. Also, among acrylic line, there's lack of chrome/mirror silver that can match lacquer quality. And finally, whether fanatic line can get good flow to use with airbrush out of the box, or a suitable flow improver/thinner to be used with fanatic line. And finally, color-shift metallic is even rarer, i wonder if fanatic have that

A colour conversion chart is a great idea and it is something that we have already prioritized. However, due to all of the other great content we're working on at the moment, it won't be available before release.

I still don't understand if fanatics range is completely replacing original range or not. Is it?

The Original Warpaints range has been a staple for many hobbyists and gamers over the last decade. With the advancement in materials and technology we were able to make a paint that performs like no other with Warpaints Fanatic. The Original range will be phased out, and ultimately replaced with the Fanatic paints which will become the new standard for quality, performance, value, and availability.

"What more could you wish from metallics?" Something more diverse and less toxic than Alcad metallics, but with the same exact finish. Something just like, but more diverse than, Vallejo Metal Color Airbush paints but slightly thicker (its very much basecoat-dependant).

In theory you should be looking forward to these. I insist the biggest reason that Vallejo metallics look so good has been because they use aluminum flakes instead of mica like most brands. I'm a huge fan of the finish of the speed paint mettalics, though like Vallejo they are very base coat dependant. I'm very much looking forward to seeing how these turn out.

Don't get me wrong. I love AP paints. But previous efforts at metallic paints from AP were NOT good so the title of this vid is kinda hilarious. I am looking forward to the fanatic line.

Naturally we want the entire range, but you need to release these in practical sets without substantial overlap so that all of us tragic enthusiasts can collect everything over time at a progressive hobby specific pace.
