Those of us who were aspiring guitar players in the 1960s can take the long view and see there were the innovators, like Hendrix and Beck, and then there were the journeymen--steady, dependable, still playing the same thing 50 years later, just a little slower. Of the three guitarists from the Yardbirds (Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton), Beck didn't become as mainstream popular but perhaps became the most unique guitarist and bordering into the Jazz world of instrumental expression if that makes sense . There’s not a person alive or dead who can play that song and sound like that. Unique. Notice the greatest guitarists heap the most praise on Jeff’s playing. As a lifelong guitar teacher said practice your entire life and you won’t sound like Jeff Beck. We have lost legends in these past few years. Aretha, like Beck was incomparable. And John Prines songs will live on, just like the two mentioned. Clapton said only by knowing the instrument at the highest level can you appreciate the amount of work he does with volume, Wawa pedals and right left hand coordination. Jimmie Page said Beck was on a level with everyone else mere mortals. He learned every year and changed genres multiple times. Boredom or curiosity. Who knows. Also called the guitar hero’s guitar hero. Kinda says it all. As a side note I was listening to some music while doing something around the house. I had to stop and think”What kind of instrument is this guy playing “. Puzzled and bewildered when realized it was Jeff Beck on his Strat. I thought to myself “ what a dumb ass”. That was I. Another never mentioned negative of growing old is your hero’s and favorites slowly but surely pass on. But every time I hear one of their classics it’s 1973 again, if only for a few minutes. One of the pluses of technology.

His constant imagination licks and guitar art was incredible ❤
Jeff Beck in guitar hero heaven RIP I had the immense chance to see him once in concert, and especially to have discovered his music, his unique playing. Jeff Beck you were by far my favorite living guitarist. You will always be by my side. RIP ❤😭❤😭❤
What a life you lived. They are happy to receive you. Only thing is, we will miss you!
OMG...I got chills...too good, man. Rip Jeff.
After this listen to CAROLINE NO!!! He Made me cry
Omg…another legend and one of my hero’s gone. Although never to be forgotten, no one to take his place. It is a sadder world with no heroes left!
Such a great guitarist undoubtedly up there with the absolute best ever. Jeff Beck is, and will forever be missed. RIP legend.
Superb. There's Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Prince and others, but Beck was so far out there.

I’ve always heard the name. Never saw a performance. This one is mind blowing how he lets his guitar be the voice of a Beatles song!
Watching this with tears in my eyes. Rest in Peace and thank you.
He always looked like he was having fun.
I'VE ADMIRED your talent for decades...a very talented and unique musician who will not be forgotten...RIP Jeff
Brilliant playing of a brilliant song. This man will be missed...
Jeff Beck and David Crosby in the same week. R.I.P. to two musical giants.
A joy to witness the power of his majestic guitar playing supported by a simply epic band.

Seriously, this is what the internet was made for.
What an epic band there must be in Heaven right now featuring Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, John Lennon, Chuck Berry, Elvis, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eddie Van Halen and many more legends!
Sorry to hear the passing of Jeff Beck. Great guitar player. Could player with great feeling. Rip in Heaven. 🌟🙏👍🇺🇸
Once again, thank you, youtube, for existing. And to the great Jeff, rest in peace, you virtuoso legend.
Of the three guitarists from the Yardbirds (Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton), Beck didn't become as mainstream popular but perhaps became the most unique guitarist and bordering into the Jazz world of instrumental expression if that makes sense . Kind of wore out my tape of Blow by Blow back in the day listening to "Cause we've Ended as Lovers"

always felt that the music industry is controlled by the Simon Cowells and George Martins wanting pop music to sell to the masses - JB avoided all of that

Blow by blow is one of my top 5 albums of all time. I’m 67 and I’ve listened to a lot of music. Damn, he was so good.

I miss The Beatles. This is my introduction to Jeff Beck, surprisingly

In memorandum. What guitar playing! Rest In Peace master. Your guitar should be laid beside you.
A great tribute from a legend. May he rest in peace
What grand legacy Jeff Beck left to the living, all his beautiful music. May your memory be eternal...
He was always revered and respected, but I hope he knows how much he was beloved.
He became one of my friends because of his music😢
The last time I got this injured by the passing of someone I thought would be always there. Jimi, I was seventeen. RIP . Just wonderful. Brilliant. Love and strength to his family and friends. Thank you to all who helped make him. Me, heartbroken
No one else could make a guitar talk like Jeff Beck.
Thank you Jeff.
RIP JB - he was the best ever ..

No he was not. He was great but not the best.
Classic. Never saw him - but saw Zepplin, Bob Marley, Queen, Dire Straits, Mikey Jackson, Pink Floyd, Stones, Bowie and dozens of others I was too stoned to remember - a life well lived. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the music. RIP.
When you're Jeff Beck you don't need lyrics. We were hardly worthy of his words. 🙌
RIP to THE most unique guitar voice of maybe all time, Jeff Beck. Certainly of my generation. And his respect for, and his many transcriptions of the Beatles' pieces shows the brilliance of both of their artistry. Amazing.
RIP Jeff Beck I was listening to you during te best years of my life.
Jeff makes the guitar sing and tells the story, simply amazing !! RIP 😪
Rest in Peace Mr. Jeff Beck . You will be sadly missed but Never forgotten. Such an Amazing guitar player. Sending out lots of Love an Prayers to his family.

RIP Jeff Beck, your Music and virtuosity will last forever
The absolute fucking GOAT and it’s not particularly close
The Beatles song A day in the life. Unique and excellent performance.
Simply magnificent!!! RIP Jeff! 😎🎸👍
This song makes me cry
Go Jeff...always my favorite
Mr. Jeff Beck...Earth Soul Blues RocknRoll...
Omg. Why am i crying?
My god, I just shat myself!!!! I have deep regret that I did not see him more often and witness his genius, he was truly an unbelievable musician!!! God bless Jeff beck!!!!
Too many great versions of Jeff playing this song to pick just one, but the tribute to the Beatles at the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts at Madison Square Garden had a special poignancy.

Jeff Beck Forever, still run.
Only saw him with his group once. Blew me away. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
'twas a pleasure and a privilege to have seen you perform live, at the Commodore Ballroom during the 'You Had It Coming' tour of 2001. I'll never forget that gig, even when I am 78. RIP legend. Truly a legend...
RIP my brother. God! What a talent you brought!
The BEST song (chosen) in the history of music played by one of the best guitar player. What could go wrong here??
Best ever! Thank you Jeff...such feeling and passion! RIP Mr Beck.
Another legend gone what a great era of English Bands
I couldn’t believe it when I heard he died. He was a health nut. Vegetarian, exercised. His guitar playing was far better at 78, than 28. He was getting older and better. I expected years more. It still hurts.
Jeff Beck - the greatest of them all !
