I was at this concert. I've been to many Allman Brothers concerts but this one....hands down the best one I've ever seen, of Allman Brothers or any other band. I was in a trance the whole time, had chills, took my breath away at times. I feel sorry for those that didn't experience it. Thanks for posting the videos, I watch them often to relive the concert.

Dangerous Dan Toler. David Grissom. Zakk Wylde for 1 night. 🙏 They've had bad azzes from day 1 until the very end, March 2020. David Grissom is a amazing guitar player. His PRS DGT is the only PRS that I personally want. But yea, the only time it comes close to Duane & Dickey is either Dickey & Warren, or Dickey & Derek, and then Derek & Warren. They, really got back to their blues roots with those 2. I can only imagine the heights they'd have seen if Duane were still around for it. You, know they all would've pushed each other higher & farther than they'd ever been before. Think they're bad azzes now? Boy, if Duane Woulda got ahold of these 2...youd have seen the greatest band this world has ever seen. I mean, I believe that anyway but I'm a bit biased. I got my middle name, Duane, from Howard Duane Allman. 😁 And he's the reason I play the guitar. He's the reason I have a gold top and a burst Les Paul-style guitar. 🙏

Still, I can't imagine the loss she felt over Duane's death. Everything that could've, would've, and should have been. 🥺 SMH. Still breaks my heart to this day.

As a guitar aficionado for over 40 years, I have played, dabbled, performed, and mastered many styles of guitar. And over those many years, I have paid less attention to slide guitar than I should have. When playing in a cover band many years back I was asked to perform a set of ZZ Top songs. I like ZZ so I said yes. Now I had some XP with the slide, and even owned a couple types. But in that situation I was happy to learn something new, and the slide was a whole new animal. I worked out my slide parts, and techniques, and listened and learned from other players. Like one of my old time favorites, Joe Walsh. But when I watched Derek play slide, it took on a whole new meaning. He did with that piece and one damn finger what I never thought possible. And that is why I believe Derek is the best slide player in the universe. Because I ain't seen no one better. If I can some day get that good than I can finally stop trying. Slide on, Derek!

I love how a good guitar tone can boost peoples confidence enough to where they can play uninhibited, in and out of tune, up and down the neck, making noise, having fun.. And end up being raw with so much flavor. Every lick can sound like you pulled it out of a bag of tricks you've been practicing when you're actually using your ears and instincts. Not sure if i'm making sense lol but there's a video on KZread of Albert Collins playing "If Trouble Was Money" and the T O N E

I hear that! I am stoked- I've got a 21 year old kid in my band and damn, he can lay on that organ. He was a saxophone player, but when he got his hands on a keyboard less than 2 years ago, he turned into a beast. I can't believe how lucky I got. I have him, a bassist who was director for the USAF touring band for 8 years, a superior drummer who can sit in the pocket, lay down a great blues groove, and then turn around and smack you in the face with heavy rock drums. He can bass drum so fast that he doesn't need a double bass pedal. Then, I have a guitar player who is seasoned, but in the BEST way! He's recorded with Lenny Kravitz, toured for 6 years with Quincy Jones, and been on the stage of Soul Train. He is the baddest shredder, plays Kiss exactly like Prince, but can also roll it back with me on More Than Words with the acoustic. He's a badass! I have NO idea how I got so mucky with my crew, but boy I really am!!!!

Thank you! And there's a reason for that. I worked at Capricorn studio for Johnny Sandlin, and the Brothers back in the early days. Warren and Derek weren't around back then, but I can't think of any two better than them who could bring the boogie back to the band. Anyway Gregg and Johnny have passed on and I miss them dearly. They are in my heart ❤️ forever.

This song is a perfect example of how "The Allman Brothers" band created "Southern Rock" from great old R & B music.

Thank you to whoever shot this for getting so much rhythm section footage. This is a bass playing clinic. What a foundation.
