The BEST Home Gym Purchase I've Made: Vendetta 180° Lever Arm Adapters

Vendetta sells a bunch of different adapters for different lever arms, so be sure to check if they have adapters compatible with your arms. But here is my exact setup:
Vendetta Adapters: t.ly/rFDmO
Titan X-3 Lever Arms: titan-fitness.pxf.io/EaLEAX
Titan X-3 (Bolt Down 3x3 Rack): titan-fitness.pxf.io/Xxagnb
Leg Press Attachment: titan-fitness.pxf.io/5b0KXN
Bells of Steel Adjustable Bench: t.ly/gqJMI
Bells of Steel Adjustable Pullup Bar: t.ly/xW-eC
A few notes I didn't really touch on in the video:
1) I have a bolt-down rack but I didn't bolt it down because I have cable towers bolted to the back of my rack. You definitely need to stabilize your rack in some way.
2) A heavy adjustable bench is key to staying stationary during rows or presses with lever arms. The BoS bench I linked above is a tank and I love it. My review of the bench is here: • Hands-On Review of the...
3) The weight capacity of the lever arms if 600 pounds EACH, so you can easily attach your rack attachments to them to utilize them. When you use the adapters and have the lever arm resting on a pin, they are rated at 250 pounds each, which is still plenty for most uses.
Let me know if you have any specific questions! Happy to help. And here are some links to other videos of mine that I mentioned or that just might be helpful for ya:

    It's incredible. One other thing I forgot to mention in the video is how much it saved my rack, too. The lever arms scuffed up the rack on the first day but after adding the adapters no part of the lever arm makes contact with the upright so you never have to worry about that

    I have the TITAN series versions of these lever arms and I love using them, but I HATE moving them around and setting them up. To get a good starting position for flat bench I have to use plyo boxes to rest the arms and weights on. I've been trying to get my hands on these vendetta adapters but they're always sold out.

    I had watched this and finally got the same setup for my T3 rack. They are awesome. Quick question :What size of adjustable pull up bar are you using? The T3 lever arms are 2 x 2 but the BOS pull up bars is 2.3 x 2.3

    Great stuff! Never used Jammer Arms before but I just built out a proper home gym and they're on my list of future purchases! Have you used these new ones with a cable setup for more constant tension throughout the entire ROM? Also, have you seen the Mikolo 3" x 3" Jammer Arms? Seem like a decent budget choice since it includes the ability to adjust the starting angle for only $250 but it's only for racks with 1" holes so I don't think it'll work with your Titan X-3. Doesn't have a trolley like the Vendetta nor as many adjustment points but still seems like a nice middle ground for a decent price. Also, the matching 3" x 3" P5 power rack + attachments they are selling seem like fantastic options in general. They are available on the Mikolo website and a-m-a-z-o-n.

    I'm playing around with the cables still, but it's tough to make it work with this setup because the weight plates or weight stack (depending on which you are using) interfere with the pulleys since you are pulling directly backwards from the tower. Since you can change the angles so easily with these, I haven't felt a need to use the cables anymore. I find that there is constant tension through all the exercises since I can choose a starting point that allows tension from the very beginning. And I'm not familiar with those arms specifically, but I have nothing against budget options if it's what works best for you. The trolley is incredible and has made these so much more practical IMO because it saves so much time you usually have to dedicate to adjusting the lever arms. But it's certainly not necessary.

    I’d like to see you rig up some pulleys to connect your lever arms to the BoS weight stacks. It’s hard to describe but I have my BoS lever arms connected to my lat pulldown attachment, and a 3x3 crosspiece at the ends of the arms to connect them and create a foot plate. I use this all as a leg press. Feels great, kinda like a Cybex lever leg press.

    Definitely, I was using the cables on my lever arms when I was using the lever arms right on the cable tower uprights. Absolutely loved it. But with the way this is set up now, it makes it really tough to connect the cables to these arms.

    I hope BOS upgrades those cable towers to be 3x3 with 5/8ths holes and options to go 80, 90 and 100" to match their racks. I'm half in half out on buying the cable towers becausw they're the only ones that can go 1:1 with a 210 stack (they should upgrade to 250/60 stack and 500lb cables to match the Athena). I'm considering making a little all in one with two cable towers, iso arms, and the lat and row in the middle. Connect them all with the middle cross member on the lat, and rear cross members on the towers. Other that or find 3x3 options that can mount on the manticore. I can't find an equivalent rack attachment functional though with a 1:1 and 200+ stack. 😢

    I would love to see a comparison between the two types of resistance for lever arms: cables and weight plates. I’d expect that cable resistance would be greatly superior for this application, due to the more consistent resistance curve. Seems like weight plates on lever arms would be very prone to dead zones and reduced resistance at the most important parts of certain lifts: the bottom stretch position. Generally, I’d expect the ideal characteristics for lever arms to be: as long as possible to reduce the arc you feel, as lightweight as possible for adjustability, and resistance via cable for consistency. The advantage of the Vendetta design is in setup convenience, with the sliding function and the ability to adjust starting positions via hitch pins, but it comes at the cost of being able to use cables, which I’d bet is a pretty huge trade off. Hopefully PRX’s upcoming jammer arms with integrated cables that they teased on Garage Gym Reviews will solve for that. 2024 is going to be the year of the Jammer Arm, and I’m so here for it!

  • @MattRosenman

    @MattRosenman

    4 ай бұрын

    Yeah, it's definitely a tradeoff, but I honestly feel like the weight plates are working absolutely fine in this case. There's a huge difference in the stability of these 3x3 arms vs the previous BoS lever arms I was using (which are closer to 2x2) so right off the bat it feels significantly different. But with the ability to select so many starting positions, I've honestly found the resistance to be extremely consistent through the movements. Obviously if you were to setup something like a seated chest press at 90 degrees and attempt to push in a straight path away from you, you'll notice that dead zone and only be feeling resistance at the top of the rep. But if you adjust your starting position so there is resistance from the start (like the chest press I demonstrate in the video) it works flawlessly. There's definitely an advantage to using cables, especially given the ability to change the weight instantly vs changing out the plates, but I honestly don't feel like the tradeoff is huge at all. I love using cables with the lever arms, but these lever arms have been great for me without 'em.

  • @MattRosenman

    @MattRosenman

    4 ай бұрын

    It depends on the exercise. I'm still playing around with it but the distance makes it tough. Since you need to attach either a long handle or a chain of some kind to reach the arms, pulling straight backwards from the tower means it's going to collide with the weight stack or the plates. It seems to only work if the cables are at the highest setting because then they won't collide with the weights. But, we'll see!
