    I bought a mongoose from toys-r-us that lasted me 14 years. Nothing broke. I just got tired of it. I wouldn't do any stunts just bunny hop, ride off curves and some flatland, besides riding it for thousands of miles. I never changed anything on it. Phu is right, in my case because I didn't ride hardcore I didn't need chromoly. I was 190lbs, lean and strong too, so I wasn't a 120lb kid either. That bike was indestructible. Black and yellow mongoose boiler, year 2000. Weighed about 35lbs

    I would go with 100% chromoly frame bars and fork even for a beginner since if they won't stick with it, a chromoly parts would have better resale value than hiten.

    I wanted to try bmx and bought a 100% chromoly custom bsd, rode for like 2 months before breaking my arm, after all that I sold it for more than I bought it for Year later and I am now looking for a new one cause I miss riding, won't give it up as easy this time hopefully

    Im a 33yr old mountain biker and just bought my first ever BMX three days ago for £300. It’s a full chrome Federal Lacey. No brakes. Pivot seat. Lots of Stranger and BSD components. Bought my own Odyssey Aitken tyres though. People really should research and properly scour the 2nd hand markets

    I have a Subrosa! It is a Tiro 2016 model but I bought it second-hand in 2017 from someone who only used it for walks on the beach. After buying a rear brake kit from it, I am very happy with how well it works. After a couple of years of not riding I have decided to go big and have upgraded some parts. The one that makes me most excited is an Odyssey F25 chrome fork with front brakes. I'm looking forward to trying it along with the other updates!!

    I got a BMX bike that i paid $200 and very similar to the first bike but for an adult. Some people I came cross calling junk and saying it would never survive a good jump. Which I replied I'm not going to be doing any type of jumping besides the occasional curb. I got a bike that fit my needs and been an excellent bike. Also I appreciate your honesty

    The middle subrosa is perfect for a kid that loves bmx, rather he’s good or not or wants to stick to the bmx life. Cause he will enjoy it so much more over the years and it’s a luxury and a great investment. I’ve had entry bikes and hated them lol. because the back cassette hub went out after like a week of use, Cheap parts.. so it’s worth spending a little more cash for tougher parts that hold up.

    I don't think aluminum sprockets are stronger. Yet, they are thicker and usually machined in a way that provides better chain engagement which theoretically will make the chain last longer.

  • @StainFPS
    @StainFPS Жыл бұрын

    I think mid-range budget bikes are always the best, because it gives better evolution than an entry level bike. And that mid-budget thing is something I apply to everything in my life. Entry level is for people that just want to taste something, but if they somehow like that thing, they'll regret not having the upper version of it. For a BMX, whatever usage you'll ride it, a full Chromoly bike will always be the best, and that 10 years old kid will be able to keep his bike for a decade with evolving parts, instead of having a HiTen frame and having to buy a full new bike again.

    I'm planning to start bmx and I'm not a kid :) Will a beginner bike last long enough for an adult too? Here in my country, we don't have many options. We mainly have Sunday and WTP, and only a few Kink, Subrosa and Cult. Which do you guys recommend around 300-500$ ? I sold my previous bike which was very heavy (33 lbs). I'd love to get a light bike, to bunny hop and spin easily, cruise and other basic tricks later (mainly park). I'm 5,35 tall and weight 132 lbs. Not strong :D Thanks guys, love all of your videos and Phu's tech advice! Will watch them all! :)

    can anyone help: I have a decent amount of experience at mountain biking, in fact you can view my level by looking at my channel as I make youtube vids too, and I would like to give BMX a shot; I can obviously do bunnyhopping, jumps, the odd trick in the air, etc etc and I also think BMX would be very beneficial for my MTB skills, can anyone recommend a bike or company to have a look at? Thanks
