I just made this black cod recipe... absolutely fantastic!!! I used a thicker cut of black cod so cooked it a bit longer...used the leftover sauce for some spicy tofu or over rice.. thank you!!
This was the Best Black Cod recipe ever! Black cod is my new favorite fish. This recipe was so easy and delicious! I had everything except fresh ginger, so I substituted 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger and it tasted great! Even the kids gobbled it all up. Definitely keeping this in the rotation. Here's a little Life Hack. It may not be quite as good, but it is close. Go get yourself some Bachan's Japanese Barbeque Sauce at Costco (best price) skip the sauce making, and then duplicate the rest. You can cook down the Bachan's per this video, or just apply it multiple times. The ingredients are remarkably similar. The rest of the steps: cookie sheet covered in foil, using a rack, broiling, are spot-on. Fried Rice is a great side dish for this.
My recipe: salt and pepper. Nothing else needed to appreciate the natural taste of any fish/meat.

This is a fantastic recipe! Sablefish is very forgiving and doesn’t dry out when cooked a tad longer than salmon, regular cod or haddock. Again, great recipe. I get my fish from Sitka Salmon Shares.
I just made this the other day and it came out exactly as Sam said it would! So bomb! Ate with a bit of fried rice and broccoli and made for a delicious dinner

I fish the Bering sea for 4 1/2 years and by far black Cod fresh is amazing eating it raw or eating it with Brown sugar soy sauce and Ginger Is absolutely amazing but the best part of the fish is the collar

I don’t know how long I should put or under what temp settings. Broil so it’s 500f? It’s an amazing recipe but wish you could make it more clear so we can follow.

5-7 min at 500.

or 400F for 10-12 minutes depending on if u have gas or electric stove

He puts it in there for 4 minutes, then another two or three. If you have a broiling function in your oven (only top heat) and you get 500F it should be around 5 minutes, then another 3. Just watch it turn good, it goes so fast you can follow it. Great for serving "a la minute"

Just got back from fishing in Alaska and I'm going to try this reciepe with Halibut - it sounds and looks great! Did you leave the skin on or remove it. For Halibut it seems like I should remove the skin.
