Russell Crowe is one of the finest actors of this generation. I think I have all of his movies and never tire of them. I know at some time he will retire (which he deserves) and I am not looking forward to that. Amen.

He is one of the few actors I've ever seen who is able to express volumes with his facial expression (just think of the ending scene in Proof of Life where he conveys a whole range of emotions).

yes, Russell is skilled and natural. His acting is very nuanced and yet a freight train all in one. He is a repressed pressure cooker.

He has one thing to that I never saw in other actor so well, he can with his eyes focus on what is in front of him so we want to see what’s in front and then the camera turns he can manipulate the watcher attention with just the presence and focus of the eyes it’s incredible and he does that really naturally it’s just pure art amazing

I love that dude ... He must be one of the best of his generation... every time I'm watching the scene from Gladiator, I get goosebumps and tears to my eyes ... after watching the movie so many countless times ... so, obviously I'm a huge fan of his !!!

@@MaxMcEvan I have seen a lot of his films and It`s always a marvellous moment when the Russell Crowe character appears but in Cinderella Man it was the only time ( so far) that he WAS the boxer and I was totally sucked in to the part and unaware of the actor.

Gladiator will always be his best and the best story told on the big screen!

In 2003 i was sure he would be the no1 leading actor for the next 20 years.

He's my #1 favorite actor and the Next Three Days is my #1 favorite movie of all time. Russell and Elizabeth Banks really helped bring the script to life.

Just a great actor. First film I saw him in was Gladiator, never heard of him before. He deserved that Oscar, then I watched his film career both before and after that film. Definitely got presence on the screen.

Saving this, too much valuable information. I searched a bunch of actor's advice on KZread and never stumbled across a Russell Crowe piece. I really appreciate this.

I am gonna be honest, Master and Commander is his best performance in my opinion. Like it also was far superior than his performance in Gladiator as well as the undisputed best acting performance of 2003. Better than everyone that year nominated. He should have won for The Insider and A Beautiful Mind as well.

A few I don't like and many I like a lot but the one that I am most likely to watch again and again is his directorial work The Water Diviner. It is so rounded in everything ,the story, the acting ensemble ,educational about Gallipoli, the acknowledgement of the Turkish position in the War and after, his own acting and his skill in the director's role .It didn't get much critical approval but I don't watch because the Critics do.
