The Battle of Marathon and Salamis

The Greco-Persian Wars (also often called the Persian Wars) were a series of conflicts between the Achaemenid Empire of Persia (modern day Iran) and Greek city-states that started in 499 BC and lasted until 449 BC. The collision between the fractious political world of the Greeks and the enormous empire of the Persians began when Cyrus the Great conquered the Greek-inhabited region of Ionia in 547 BC.

Greece and Marathon weren’t 26 miles apart; they were 21.4 miles apart. Only after the marathon had been apart of the Olympics was it changed to 26.2 to satisfy the royal family in England so that it could both start and end at the royal court. How is it you don’t know this?

♥.♥ I'm from IRAN. I wish there were no such ugly human behaviors in the civilization record of these two ancient and beautiful lands. Damn wars due to ugly human traits such as sedition, lies, jealousy and of course lack of anger control, not usually among nations but more among politicians and rulers. There may always be a seemingly good reason for war and fighting, but there are dozens of better reasons for agreement and peace. Also, although it is said that the reason for these wars was the sedition of the Greeks themselves (I'm not sure), but in any case it should not be forgotten that unfortunately the essence of any empire (Achaemenid empire and all world empires, from the past to the present) is tied to war and fight. Unfortunately.

@@nathanmcpeters6868 I'm from IRAN. Even if it is Greece's fault, I think the attack on Greece and the start of the war by the Persians is condemned. This was an ugly behavior of two civilized peoples who gave their destiny to ignorant rulers. Otherwise I think none of these stupid war would not have happened.

I'm from IRAN. You are sorely mistaken. Iran has started wars many times after Islam. You need to take a look at this page and see the wars that Iran started in post-Islamic times (→en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_Iran). It is good to know that the pre-Islamic wars were not due to the Zoroastrian religion (these damn wars are due to the nature of any empire, unfortunately). But many of the post-Islamic wars stemmed precisely from Islam itself (teachings of the Qur'an). I do not mean that Muslims and Muslim kings in Iran have misinterpreted the Qur'an. Rather, I mean the war, anger, and brutal violence that exist in the Qur'an, and the Qur'an commands this anger to the people (muslims). You do not know the Qur'an so read the Qur'an more and of course read it without prejudice. The Qur'an that has disturbed the peace of the world. Lots of ♥ and peace for all (even for you, Ali Abbas)
