The Base of the Skull Pain Muscle (How to Release It for INSTANT RELIEF)

Dr. Rowe shows how to quickly release tightness and tension in muscles that cause the most pain around the base of the skull.
A big contributing factor of upper neck pain and discomfort comes from a build up of stress, tension, and tightness in muscles that can lead to painful strain and inflammation.
This video will keep it simple by fixing weakness and tightness in the main muscles that cause pain in this area, especially the suboccipital and upper trapezius.
Each exercise works a little differently. To get the best results, go through them all and use what gives you the most pain relief.
As a bonus, all of these exercises can be done at home.

4 years ago I strained my upper back in the gym *very* lightly. Little did I know, the next day all the strenght in my neck muscles was lost. I literally could not sit without supporting the head with my hand. This caused serious dizzyness (was in bed for two months). This was accompanied by hot flashes, heart palpitations and other nervous system signals. Went to see chiro's, physiotherapists, MRI'd the whole spine and even my brain and nothing was found and no one had heard of such a case before. They must've thought I was crazy in the head. Fast fwd to today, although better, my neck is still very weak and significantly downgrades my quality of life. I'm under 40 years old and live a healthy, sporty lifestyle.

I’m going thru the same thing, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, insomnia, anxiety etc etc. It’s been 2+ yrs of Dr after Dr, test after test, all ‘normal’. I’m to the point I won’t know what’s wrong until my autopsy 😭. My quality of life has diminished severely & I’m giving up. Then the other my friend sent me an article abt upper cervical damage. I’m searching for an upper cervical chiropractor that accepts my insurance but until then trying to do what I can at home & came across this video & a couple others from him. Best of luck to you & your improving health. ☮️

The locations of pain you specify is a bit more detailed than your previous video on this subject. I’ve dealt with chronic pain in all of these areas every day of my life for at least the last 30yrs. I have disc degeneration, about 8yrs ago the pain got so bad in my neck that when I would try to look up, a sharp shooting pain would occur, it felt like lightning bolts were shooting to the front of my brain. At that point I was only 40 yrs old, it felt like my head a bowling ball on my shoulders. I ended up getting a neck fusion on C4/5/6 which eliminated the lightning bolt pain, but I still have the residual pain that you’ve covered today along with a constant headache / right eye ache/ tension headache on the right side of my head near my temple to my right ear everyday of my life. I can’t remember a day without pain. I honestly don’t share this often as I like to stand tall and try not complain or show that I’m in pain. What I like to do is search for options on how to help myself make it through the day in a positive way and you have been one of those sources in my life. I found your videos a couple years ago and they have really helped me out through some tough times. I felt that I needed to share that with you today, you’ve made a difference in the daily maintenance of my body and for that I truly appreciate it. Thank you for all that you do and keep up the great work!

This video was recommended to me because, for two years, I had frequent and often debilitating tension headaches that originated from the base of my skull. I haven't had one in 3 months, though, since I started taking Vitamin C to combat a cold that wouldn't go away. I've continued to supplement with at least the recommended daily value ever since. It's hard to know if Vitamin C deficiency was contributing to my tension headaches, but it sure seems like it and I wanted to share that with others who are frustrated that tension headaches seem to be getting more and more common. Vitamin C is cheap, so it may be worth supplementing with to see if it helps.

Hlw doctor i am from India 🇮🇳, and i want to ask you a question. I have a cervical disc bulge problem and i want to ask you that ( if the disk that is bulged out will reabsorb in its original place over time?? Or it will remain in the same position place for the rest of life ?? ) i know that the pinched nerve symptoms will be gone on some day but my question is that will the disc bulge will reabsorb in the spine or it will remain like that forever ??
