Was a darker series then

The first season was very different from the show we all remember, and not just because John Steed's partner was a man. "The Avengers" was initially a straightforward crime drama. It was during the time Honor Blackman was in the case that the show slowly transitioned to the stylish, "lighter" show we all remember.

Thanks for the vid. I see that you've taken this footage from The Frighteners. I happen to love the Avengers, it's my second-favorite British TV show, next to Monty Python's Flying Circus. Despite that, I haven't seen an entire episode, the only episode I came close to seeing in it's entirety is the series premiere Hot Snow. Unfortunately, I only saw most of the surviving first third because most of the season 1 episodes of The Avengers were burned (except The Girl on the Trapeze and, of course, The Frighteners), and I don't count the first third of Hot Snow as a surviving episode. Still, I think the first season of The Avengers is the best.

Update: On Late December I saw the rest of the first third of Hot Snow, and the surviving two episodes. I got the Bonus DVD of The Emma Peel Megaset, and only that for Christmas.
