I’m 63 years old and people think I’m 40 years old, but the supplements I’ve taken for years are: multivitamin/mineral since I was 12 years old, CoQ10 since I was 23, and Vitamin D & Sunshine, Green Tea (now decaf). I eat whole home-cooked foods. I occasionally cheat every couple of months and will eat a calzone. I never smoked, and only occasionally drank a couple of beers or a couple of glasses of red wine up until I was 40. I quit drinking any alcohol at 40 because I hated the way it made me feel the next day.

Thomas looks great, except lately he’s got dark circles and bags under his eyes, looking strung out AF. He’s spoken out about the toll having kids takes on your sleep and other routines. It’s so true. Having kids is a HUGE transition to your lifestyle. Look at Attia. Never spoke out about the difficult balance between family and work. Went fucking crazy, ended up in psych ward for two separate stints, multiple weeks, and is finally speaking out about it. He never made the transition, and tried to maintain his prior life and routines with his family life and routines, and it didn’t work. I can’t wait for a few years down the road when Thomas reflects on these times. Advice, mourn the death of your old self, make the transition to your new self, and build a new sustainable routine around your new life. Some do it easier and faster than others. Some don’t ever do it and get divorced. If you want to keep a family strong, healthy and sustainable you gotta make the transition

How do we know some people aren't predisposed to B6 toxicity? These are things that can be figured out with human controlled trials. Anecdotes are not scientific fact. i have also experienced B6 toxicity and it was because i was taking way too much. i abstained for a while, now take very mild doses and have no problems.

Doctors produce dumb stuff like the ages long egg fallacy. "Well, we in our incredible wisdom determine that egg is bad, because it contains cholesterol, and we in our godlike wisdom are above looking at studies comparing the health of egg eaters and non egg eaters. While he is right on these supplements, not all of them should be supplements though; they should be in the diet. Vitamin d is probably the exception, especially for people in low sunlight access. I eat 100g of beef liver almost daily with 500g salad. Doing that offsets the side effects. I also eat fish everyday. NAC etc are all bonus supplements.

I've read almost all of Dave Asprey's books and always found them interesting/somewhat insightful. However, between him recommending supplementing with trehalose (more recently, he at least warns those with C. difficile to avoid it) and now supplementing vitamin DAKE (i.e. supplementing with vitamin A), I'm done taking his advice seriously

@@jctrades7048 Check out Grant Genereux, his health journey and his free eBooks. He's the only person I've heard of who has successfully recovered from end stage Chronic Kidney Diease (CKD), chronic fatigue, eczema, etc. on an extremely low vit A diet (i.e. beef or bison, white rice, and black beans diet) for what is approaching 10 years. Recently, I heard there may be a second person who has also recovered from end stage CKD using a low vit A diet. According to the science, Grant should either be blind or dead. In recent blood tests, Grant's serum retinol is approaching 0 which indicates a severe vit A deficiency and yet he's thriving health-wise. The entire foundation on which vit A was proven to be an essential vitamin is based on the 1925 Wolback and Howe study. Grant has pointed out a potentially fatal flaw in the study design and he's trying to get researchers to redo it. i.e. the mice had plenty of vit A in their diet and they died prematurely due to vit A toxicity, not deficiency. Almost all vit A science is built upon this one study and if it turns out to be wrong, then the entire house of cards falls. Nowadays, I treat vit A like PUFA. I try to minimize it as much as possible but it's impossible to avoid it altogether. As someone who ate LOTS of dairy, eggs, red/orange/yellow fruits & vegetables, dark leafy greens, and beef liver/pork pate for many years, I figure I have at least a few years or perhaps a decade worth of vit A stored in my liver that gets liberated whenever my diet falls short.

I'm never the guy who blames it on genetics, but his genetics certainly play a part and he could have beat the hell out of himself for years before he got into longevity. Either the information checks out or it doesn't. Dr. Norton was just asked if it should matter if a trainer is in shape, and of course he said it shouldn't.
