Check out the other bike reviews I've done kzread.info/head/PLC0dZgVosHtsxPvzkIDswjw2YjCVodY6Y
2022 Street Bob 114 is the first bike I ever owned. Didn’t even know how to turn it on when I bought it. 3 months later I have 2500 miles on it and don’t regret my decision. It can totally be a beginner bike for someone.

It was my first rode bike to. Coming off dirt bikes when I was a kid and multiple high horsepower manual cars, I have healthy respect for horsepower. It only took me about a month to get used to riding with traffic and to find the bikes sweet spots for shifting, after that I’ve had a blast with it.

Awesome to hear. I am looking to get into the world of motorcycles and want to make sure I get something that won’t be too much, but can still grow into and won’t be trading in after a year. I also really like how customizable it is, I’m someone who likes to make everything my own and have my personality

I totally get it and agree
This was my very first bike, (still ride it) -- I took it easy when learning, but in a week I felt comfortable enough. I've now riden it 10000km in less than a year, and from Canada to Florida. It can definitely be a "new rider bike", if you're really about riding bikes. :)
I went from a 49cc scooter to a 22 street bob 114 in fastback blue. First motorcycle ever owned Fooking love it ! 5k not a scratch. Upgraded seat and windshield, amazing.

If you have any Harley Davidson soft tail bike, you literally have the accessory parts world in the palm of your hand.
2023 HD FXBBS. Just remember the Throttle is Fly by wire. So instant response. Takes a couple days to get used to. I've been riding since I was 8 . And am 65 now . Its my second HD. First was a 99 Dyna. Love the scooter. Looking to put a Nightster fuel tank on it though. I have about $2k worth of add one to it now. Fed controls are fantastic on the bike. I'm 5' 9".
Funny story. I’m in my first year of riding and I bought 2, yes thats right, 2 brand new bikes from San Diego Harley (Rob was my salesman too). The first bike I got was the 2022 nightster. The damn thing died at 95 miles on the odo! Harley has been having electrical issues on the nightsters and many people are experiencing a no start issue. Good thing SD Harley helped me out and bought the nightster back at full price and I bought a 2022 Street Bob (blue). Man I tell you, I love the street bob! Yeah I was wobly at first and I learned how to respect that throttle fast. But overall I’m glad the nightster broke and I ended up with the street bob……I’ll be upgrading to a street glide next year 😆

Oh my, I just bought a nighster and coming up on 1000 miles. Hope if its going to die it does it in the first 2 years.
I test rode this one during the palm bay bike event. It's such a fun bike! The large displacement and small frame really makes that huge torque evident. Great for around town and it has a great lean angle!
That's how Harley was marketing the Softail Standard - as a extremely customizable, and it was.... but the core issue there is that the bike has a very specific, simplistic, old school bobber design to it. (It's just Street Bob that isn't blacked out).
@charlesharper7292
Жыл бұрын
Soft tail standard isn't blacked out. No passenger accomodations either. Street Bob is blacked out, with passenger seat and pegs. Harley markets the Street Bob as the lightest soft tail. You'd think that the soft tail standard without passenger seat and pegs would be lighter.
Woohoo you're driving the same bike and colour I purchased this year as my very first bike! I never rode before, bought the bike, took a course to get my license and and rode , absolutely love the bike!
Great video! This is the best Street Bob 114 review I've seen... I thought I really hated the digital handlebar gauge, but you just changed my mind. The simple minimalistic features fits the bike perfectly!
Great video. For a 1st look/1st ride you covered a lot of important points and got a lot of useful information across. The way you used your general bike experience to 'look forward' was also both interesting and very helpful. Well done and thanks! 👍🙂
Honestly, Took the MSF and bought this bike (23) and rode it home. Being shorter this bike just felt natural and balanced. Totally a starter bike if you respect the power. I had a ninja 636 given to me when I was younger (22), put a couple hundred miles on it and sold it, was too reckless and irresponsible (35 now). I love this bike and cant wait for this break in period to be up

Same here bro. Used to ride ninjas. I'm 38 now and just got my street bob from the dealership on Saturday. Hard to keep the revs down during the break in period!
This is my favorite bike I have ever owned. Just love it.
Just picked up one of these in the red. Absolutely love it so far
My first bike was the 2020 softail standard and i love it boy are they fun bikes..
Like the reviews, watching bikes I don’t even have a bit interested in as you are giving solid input. Thinking about a new bike next year and these are great samples. Solid work.
This was my first Harley after sportsbikes. I love it the way it is (except with a few minor tweaks.... like replacing the seat foam with gel). I'm a big fan of naked bikes and really like the design of this one (I really don't know why people mount tons of crap on their bike..... like touring bikes that don't tour). Putting a 114 in this frame gives it a fair amont of boot. I've had this bike over 100 several times (not like a sport bike though). I ride it about 1,000 miles a month. I'd have to give it a thumbs up..... it's good for someone that is older than dirt (like me). Just me in the wind with an engine and a frame. This thing reminds me of some kind of retro hot rod that was built in a junk yard.
The reason I love your bike reviews is because most of the Jitsu content I began with was rider improvement, technique, and what not to do (lol). I trust your rider judgement. A lot of bike reviews are boring af, offer no relevant information to a potential buyer, or end up talking about their day (which no offense, I don't care). These reviews hit what I need to know as I continue my research into my second bike.
I think this is the purest form of Harley-Davidson.

Totally is now that they've killed off the Evo Sportster
My first street bike. I’ve had some dirt bikes but this is definitely a big step up. It took me a few rides to get used to the throttle but I’ve been practicing preload and load techniques and feel very comfortable with it now. I live of a small Main Street and at first I was intimidated by the power and hesitant to take out in any kind of traffic. After a couple rides I can confidently control it in stop and go traffic. Btw Im 5’1” female. I wear chunky doc martens and sealed the stock seat for a Saddlemen profiler. I also switched out the bars and added 6” risers which helped put me more in the bike. I think my arms are too short for the mini apes. I was practicing figure 8’s but realized I couldn’t make a tighter turn because my arms wouldn’t reach. Lol. Really love this bike though and am taking my time and practicing each time I ride.

thank you for your comment, im a 6,2 male so i cant relate there, but grew up riding dirt bikes (450s) and want this bike as my first street bike:')
I had a 2015 Street Bob. That bike was mine from the first mile. One thing I always respected was, if you aren't paying attention and take off from a stop, the bike can leave you behind. Love this new version. You are right about the gauges. What do you need to know? I would trade to this bike- after the courses I'm planning to do.
My shift lever on the 21 street bob was stupid high from the show room floor, had to lift foot off peg to shift on way home!
I have the same bike. It's not my first bike and definitely not my first Harley Davidson. It is the second one I purchased new. My last new Harley, (still have it, still runs. 100k or so miles.) is a 94 FXDL. I would go anywhere on that bike the FLTR guys would go and I'd do it without a windshield. I never was a big fan of the soft tail till the new frame came out in 2016?/17? These are really good. The seat will get changed. I'm looking for saddle bags. The only performance change is to undo what the EPA made Harley do to produce the bike. It doesn't really need anymore power, I just have a problem with three letter organizations meddling in my world! Love the bike, thanks for the review!
I just bought a 2023 Softail Street Bob with a 114 engine as you can see on my profile, it sure is the best motorcycle ever! I’m glad this is my first Harley Davidson I ever owned at the age of 21.

I have this bike with a 128 in it. I don't find the throttle too sensitive. It's a wonderfully tame pussycat.
First thing I did on my 114 roadglide was move the shifter peg down!
I have a ‘20 FXST with the 107.” It is a fighter jet compared to my old 96” Heritage. Goes better, handles better, stops better, and it doesn’t drag the ground on every ride. That it is narrower and about 150# lighter helps, too, as my storage is kinda narrow. I’m 5’7,” so the bike fits me perfectly. Harley seems to have done good with these.
Love it, Even more at 8:20 when you said i don't recommend it to a new rider, That was me, having not ridden much at all in 28 years of passing my test and nothing for 13 years then it was a cbr150, i test rode the Street bob and bought it, no it wasn't the best idea and i did a load of mods getting rid of the stock seats for Saddleman and V&H mini grenades and stage one, sissy bar and engine bars, memphis shades screen, i have 4500 miles on it and it wasn't so bad, pulled the bars back a couple of inches just to make it easier. I am fortunate i bought a XSr125, New Monster a monkey bike and the 2022 XSR900 and covered 9000 miles in 1 year on all of these combined, now joining the advanced motorcycle group here. But no its not really a learner bike but for a while it was my first and only bike, so it is possible, and thanks to hours of you tube videos and advice from you, Ride like a pro, canyon chasers and others my life has become much easier. I salut you you tubers that gift your advice to help others.

I have yet to ride a bike thats better than this, the Torque is amazing, i have ridden the new rocket 3 and Harley is still way better. Its a lifetime keeper as is the XSR900 2 awesome machines. Life choices made correctly.
As far as the stance and position you sit in, it’s the same as an iron 1200. I’ve only sat on the street bob but it seems like it’s a very well balanced and comfortable bike.
Great bike had the 2018 107 and I pumped it out just bought the 114 version
Minor adjustments can really improve the riders experience. Excellent review
Now that's a beautiful bike.
Good review thank you. I thinking of going for the baby brother of the Street Bob, the Softail Standard with a 107 engine.
Great review!
Ive done 6000KM on my StreetBob 114. It does everything awesome except for long highway trips and it does scrape pegs and the stand on tighter mountain roads.
I own the fxbb 2021 in olive green. And I picked it out at Nassau HD. You’re right about the handle bars. They do take time gettin used to. The only conk I have is the lighting set-up. Should”ve been all led. But the suspension is awesome. And she handles with the best of them I5’7” it’s perfect for a short dude like me. But she is a power house. And will snatch you punk ass off if ain’t careful.

I love my 2016 dyna street Bob with the 4.7 gallon tank
Footpeg scrapes on the right and the kick stand scrapes on the left
You are a great salesman. You sold me on it. It looks like you are riding a 24" bike. 🚲 Since I was a little kid. "wow", thanks
Looks like the Milw 8 bikes finally brought HD into power cruiser territory with their classic styling and with less vibration and heat, win win. A used 107 in black for 8 or 9 grand would be very appealing to me.
I have a 2021 and love it! Only thing for me with the newer model is the alloy wheels.............I just don't like them! I must admit that forward controls is a must, a real game changer with handling and comfort. A Dart Marlin Flyscreen has transformed mine for longer runs and makes it very comfotable. I have Miller Exhausts on mine which are very easy to remove and fit the baffles (an allen screw and a grub screw) for sound.
I had an ‘07 Street Bob, great bike. Not sure if It’s just me but it seems like the pegs are sitting way higher than mine used to. The last one I sat on felt that way too
@brianrahuba6919

Makes Me Feel goosebumps When I see That Bike
Love that bike
To me, it feels like the further away you get from the triple tree, the less counter steer feel you have. I got my Soft tail Slim bar finally. I'm going to change them soon.
I hit that subscribe button because I appreciate your honesty and how you broke this bike down (because it is very accurate) and how you reiterated this bike is not a novice bike. I bought my 22 Street Bob before I attended the Harley Riding Academy (never rode a bike before) and received my endorsement. When I finished class, I came home and decided to acclimate to my bike and everything you mentioned I did. I pulled the throttle to hard (no throttle control), which the torque almost threw me off the bike and then I forgot to shift, so I proceeded to shift at a high rpm and the front wheel slightly came of the ground. I've spent three months (on nice days) in a high school parking lot getting comfortable with my Street Bob. I keep practicing with this bike and getting better, but 100% if you're novice, do not buy this bike. I got lucky enough that I got a chance to work with this bike, the moral of the story is don't let a salesman talk you into something you're not ready for, research is free, do it!
You need to check out the ( Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT ). A very basic beginner bike for bigger newer riders.
Nice review. I really like this bike and the Softail Standard. I sat on both at the dealer yesterday and they feel great. They feel like a litle larger Sportster. I like how they are set up from the factory. I'd probably get some V&H slip-ons and a windscreen and just ride it. They don't need much at all.

Thinking about trying those bars on my softail slim
After riding this bike for bout three months, I'm going to change the bars to the ones that come on the Soft tail Slim.
I like that simplicity of the gauge screen but it is way too small to see. They should have made that bigger screen. Everything else looks awesome!
Hi Moto Jitsu do you think a sportster 1200 is too much for a beginner
I kind of thought you would get that bike after your ride. You seemed to love the ride.
This video could be used as a drinking game where you have to drink every time you hear the word power or torque LOL For real though it's definitely on my radar for my next bike. I'm a pretty small guy and it's between this and a scout. I have ridden a Street Bob but only on a test drive at the dealership with an escort. Didn't get over 40 miles an hour and certainly didn't experience that torque the way I would have liked to. I know the scout has decent torque as well but it's in the much higher RPM range. We will see
How genius is the gadget cluster. !
I almost bought the same blue one from SDHD in 2022. Being a kinda big purchase, I worried too much about pulling the trigger. I still regret it.
What gloves are you wearing ai would love a set.
I am not a fan of that Guage Cluster. I can imagine that I would get used to it but it doesn't seem to fit the style of the bike. Other than that it is gorgeous! Also with a 30 inch inseam I can flat foot this one as well.
It makes me sad that your roads are so smooth that you have to look for a bump to test the suspension. *cries in Quebec

The wind wasn’t bad? I had a 2021 road king special and the wind was the most awful out of any bike I’ve owned. The seating position and the way my arms were out wide caused wind to turn me into a human parachute. Was uncomfortable above 60mph
There is adjustability with the bars to and fro or forwards and backwards.

You can loosen the clamp and push the bar away, or pull it towards you.
What do you consider to be a new rider? I've been riding for 1.5 years and was considering looking into this bike. I'm older, all the kids are out of the house now, I like the relaxed riding style of a cruiser, and was looking for a bike I could ride until I'm no longer able to. Put it this way, the three cars I have are 15, 20, and 25 years old - I like to keep things a while. Yes, I've been riding a little Suzuki GZ250 all this time and yes I know this bike is over 1800cc but I'd like something where I'm not having to shift into 3rd gear by the time I get to the other side of an intersection and can comfortably go the speed limit (not be at full throttle barely able to hit the speed limit) the few times I go on the highway. What do you think?
Traded in my MT09 for a Street Bob today.
