Harley Davidson Street Bob: First Ride Review

The Harley Davidson Street Bob 114 is as authentic as a Harley Davidson riding experience that you can get within the current bar and shield line up. Come along with me as I take the Street Bob on the road for the first time and give you my real time feed back of the experience and a re-cap of my likes and disklikes as well as my opinion on the Street Bob's value proposition at the end of the video. Will the Street Bob become the next Harley that I own?

Great first ride review, thank you so much. I test rode this exact bike and colour. Hated navigating through the city in 1 and second gear on this bike. Just so many better options out there at. Better price, but still amazing Harley quality

You’re welcome! Thanks for watching. As you saw I had trouble acclimating to first gear, something I’ve noticed with M8 , the twin cam and EVO engine Harley’s give me no problems, neither do Triumphs for that matter. Ride safe!

Got a 2022 in red. Vibration in the seat is a Harley's tach... Love the bike. I hated the bars. When I bought it, though I would like them. Got to hating them so much, I parked the bike. I got a bar from a Softtail Slim and am in love with the bike. Rode my Evo Lowrider from Texas to all points east. From Georgia and North to Canada. Over a 100K on that bike. Still have it , still runs. I plan just minor performance upgrades. Already have a 2Bros pipe.

I have the 2022 and approaching 15,000 miles. I'm surprised this bike isn't more popular.... especially with the 114. I wanted a naked bobber as my last bike and thought I'd try to build one if I didn't buy one. I tried this bike out and I was sold. I really like the design.... it really has the old school look and the engine is plenty for this frame size. I was looking at a stage IV upgrade, but it's really not justifyable. I just ride for fun, longer than many, home to home, usually between 100-150 miles. A piece of trivia.... I just removed the foam in the seat and replaced with gel so I could keep the original seat (I can ride this thing all day). Those aftermarkets are too much of a behemoth.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Street Bob. I run the Renegade bobber seat from Saddlemen on my sporty it’s the slimmest I could find without going for the old school leather spring seat set up, I’d do the same if I had the Street Bob or Standard. I agree, these bikes are not as popular in my area as the low rider and touring models. But if you love that stripped down authentic Harley riding experience, this bike is it.

@@KennyQuestShow Also, FYI. I just had the 131 Stage IV upgrade performed to my 114 Street Bob. That is a bit of a beast for the Street Bob. Can't wait to really open it up (supposed to treat it like an engine break in for the first 1000 miles).

Nice review on the bob, I purchased the 21 bob in baja orange and had the same trouble with pulling out, but with a little twist of the throttle and feathering the clutch it pulls out nicely. I've since swapped the bars out for some hollywood bars from a slim, along with forward controls, and Saddleman profiler seat and its a whole different bike.

I enjoy the Street Bob looks, I’m finding with every bike I ride the throttle response is slightly different but with repetition you learn the ins and outs quickly. Are the Hollywood bars the type that come on the slim? Thanks for watching!

How do you manage to stall all these bikes so many times???? Feel the clutch, be one with the clutch…. Great vids mate, really enjoyed your series. After long deliberation, I have decided on the Street Bob over the Low Rider. I can’t justify the $7500 difference in price, the Low Rider is also awesome but not $7500 better than the Street Bob. These prices are in Australia. Street Bob is $25000 and the Low Rider S is $33500.

LOL, I know…, I had a tough time figuring how much throttle to give and when to let out the clutch. Though i got better as the series went on. I agree with you on the Street Bob over the FXLRS. If you don’t need what makes the low rider different then it’s not worth it. The mini apes and overall ride gave me chopper cruiser vibes and I liked that feeling.

At first glance it looks comfy but as an owner of a 23 street bob the seat was one of the first mods I had to do. The stock seat is only comfortable for the first 30 minutes to an hour. Then you start to feel the seat pan underneath and get hot spots. It also doesn’t lock you in during hard acceleration and you’ll feel yourself sliding backwards. Bear in mind I’m not a large dude, 5’8” 175lb athletic build and it was unbearable lol

Rode the softail standard 50 miles home from purchase. Forward controls came 2 days later. 5'8" and short inseam combined with old knees, had to be done. $500 for the kit, loctite and 1-2 hours time and a world of difference. I rode both the 114 SB and 107 standard and couldn't tell the difference either. Both have tons of power. A more aggressive rider might notice , that's not me. Not new to hogs-40 years riding them and these ride smooth and refined. Still a hog though just with a lot of power and torque. It can definitely get up and dance if needed.
