When I test rode a street bob 114 i was surprised to feel how easy it was to ride and how smooth ot was. For those that don't know, it has dual balancing shafts inside the 114.

Other things to consider: - Low fuel light comes on at 50 miles remaining - Avoid the Aggressor fairing if you're around the 6ft mark, as it'll direct wind straight into your face - In Europe, all 2021 Harley models and newer require a tune on any Stage 1, including slip ons - Switching handlebars could be anywhere between $700 and $1,500 depending on the style and height you want. Similar price for the forward controls too. - If you want a murdered Bob, you'll be looking to change a lot including front fork covers, hand levers, headlight trim, various bolts, front axle covers. It all adds up. Personally I'd recommend the Softail Standard, then just replace old chrome that gets rusty/discoloured with black aftermarket pieces.

Perspective... I've set up every bike I've had since the first one pretty much the same. 1978 Kawasaki KZ650. 1973 Kawasaki Z-1. 1982 Suzuki GS850G. They all had a windshield, crash bar with highway pegs, and a sissy bar/luggage rack. Saddlebags were added for rain gear and toolkits. Unless you buy lunch every day, you have to bungee your lunchbox to the bike somehow. Basically, you add the accessories to make the bike work for you. In my case, it was riding to work, and sometimes "work" was 250 miles away. When you have forward controls, there's nowhere for you to move your legs to on a long ride. Mid controls with highway pegs not only lets you move your legs but gives you the ability to stand up to absorb big shocks and to sit on the pillion when you get sore.

The biggest draw backs for me are the tank size and the stock seating position. The handlebars are okay but definitely not something to keep long term, the seat is super low, and like most stock Harley’s it sounds like a sewing machine. As soon as I got mine home I moved my shifter peg downward as I had to take my foot off the peg to shift comfortably from the factory. I changed the levers next to something shorter. Then the fuel cap had to be changed to a black cap, Then I put a step up seat and color matched fairing. Mid bend bars and an 8” riser. Then a 2-1 exhaust.

Great video! I currently own a 2022 Nightster which is a great bike when it runs; however it has has numerous problems in this area. First with the handlebar modules and now an unknown problem. Today while riding to work it died and it will not start. The Dealership is scheduled to pick it up Tuesday and no matter what happens I no longer trust this bike. I need a bike that is reliable and the Nightster is a piece of shit. This bike is one that I am considering. My last bike was a full size Indian. Nice bike but I have grown to like a lighter and more sporty bike. I will miss the water cooled engine and not needing valve adjustments, but this bike I will definitely will be going on a test ride.

First concern for me would be how it feels in traffic. Is the engine braking when you roll the throttle on and off smooth or enough to upset your balance. Seems a common theme to ditch the stock handlebars. Is it just that they look hideous or from a comfort perspective?

@@charlesharper7292 mmm. Not sure how the new street bob actually rides as I didn't actually test ride. But the lowrider is a beast. I guess your previous was either an Evo or twin cam. A lot has changed. First Evo I rode was an early Fatboy. 100% the look. Absolute disappointment of the power. Still in the run in miles for my 117 but awestruck when I actually realised that twistgrip just keeps turning more than my wrist. I also have a 2001 honda sp1 in the shed that I bought new and can honestly say, apart from the elbow scraping cornering, the 117 is as much fun. It's winter here now so neither of them will be out much for a while. Aggggh English lake District rain, and snow... That's summer here. Time to play in 4 wheel toys for a while. Ps planning a roadtrip in USA next year but told to avoid crossing Texas so may just get to sideline to Tyler. On the back burner until I get decent weather records.

IMO Street Bob, the way it priced is a worst HD softail value wise. Except if you planning to ride two-up 90% of the time maybe. On average it comes up to about $17K'ish out the door. For this kind of money you can easily pick up 114 Low Rider S with under 2K miles on it. And get upside down fork, dual front brakes, better instruments, better wheels and standard ABS, if I am not mistaken. Or just hold off a bit, and buy 117 Low Rider S at the end of this season. Low Rider S, dollar to dollar is much better value.
