I already have an older Sony Soundbar which still sounds amazing! Sony never really gets their speakers wrong. These smaller speakers really work well in party situations and as a portable speaker. Not too much of a difference between the 2 the XB31 are a bit louder to me, but like you said, the 32 is a lil more crisp! Great video 😎

yea, thats the main reason I switched to XB41's, they use the barrel charger which is much more durable!

FYI, the SRS-XB31 does claim corrosion proof exterior and I have been using in the ocean (literally attached to a anchored floating cooler not just on the sand) for past year and had zero problems or degradation.

The one think that i wonder about the most is will the rubber backing on the XB32 start to feal tacky or sticky, and eventually start to peel off. I hat it when that happens.

The 32 sounds fantastic clear as hell .. The mids are wonder..You can’t compare the 2:.. I took my Bose smart speaker back the one that coast 400 dollars because this thing is that good...

I have 2 xb41s that I connect to reach other. Best Bluetooth speakers I've purchased. Android + LDAC is amazing.

@@agee7777 really? I have the bigger XB41 with an AC adapter plug (along the micro USB port). Maybe that's why I can charge while it plays. Does your XB31 have a an AC plug or just the micro USB?

@@24ecko just the micro, completly ruins the speaker, would have bought the 41 if i had have known. the 31 is pretty much useless for parties.

The descriptions a bit off. But good review and comparison :)

The sound of the 32 is slightly better than the 31. Highs are more crispy and bass is more defined. But if you already have the 31, the 32 is not major upgrade.

The xb31 is only $60 on Amazon right now, that's sounds like the win to me

I have the xb31, it is spectacular with LDAC and Android, excellent sound quality, I keep my xb31

I used to have a Sony SRS XB31 but unfortunately it had some problems, after 1 month of normal use ( about once or twice a week) it had bass problems, at high volume it distorted a lot and the battery life was about half an hour at full volume so I took it to warranty. They told me they couldn't repair my speaker and I had to take another one, so I took the XB32, I kinda like XB31 the way it looks better than XB32 but hopefully this one doesn't have the same problem I had with the other one.

Are these not "stereo" speakers themselves? I know you can pair two speakers, but my older SRS-x33 is stereo.

yes thet are stereo but if you pair them they will act as left and right

I'd like your opinion Dan, I'm in the market, I can get an Amazon Renewed XB31 for $62 or a new XB32 for $98. I love the look of the 31 but haven't heard the sound(in person) I've heard the sound of the 32 and was quite impressed. Which would you get, I know your opinion in the video is "don't upgrade" but if you had the choice which would you go with?

If you have to ask if the upgrade is worth it, it's not worth it. My XB31 just broke yesterday, apparently, after hooking an auxiliary cord into it and connecting it to my laptop. I didn't even turn the volume up loud, but apparently it made it where it's stuck in power down mandatory 20% volume mode; you know, what it does when the battery is nearly depleted.

Can you please compare XB32 vs Echo plus 2nd generation?

RANJAN KUMAR SAHOO I never really took the time, but it is dead already. I mean since I wrote the comment the batterie so not hold charge any more, it is going to ebay , “for parts”.

Sb31 has more bass. The Xb32 has more treble. But you can alter that in the Sony app equaliser. Job done. And yes the Xb31 looks more premium. I pair my 31 with my xb41. Sounds amazing alone or paired. Also the light bars looked thinner on the Xb32 .

Just different build but they are the same. With good equaliser, you can make them sound thesame. The live sound in xb31 is everything. It's not worth the upgrade. Xb31 for me until xb42 or something else comes out

XbX1 series are all salt water resistant. That's why almost all ads were on the ocean/ beach

Tough one because of the current pricing. The 32 does have a clearer sound so does have an overall better sound, but the XB31 can be bought for almost half the price and still sound fantastic. If you're going to be using by the ocean or any saltwater then grab the 32

To me the xb31 material seems more durable and premium. xb32 has that rubber/silicon material which may be prone to scratch and stain marks

XB32 sounds a little bit clear. How about the battery?

Modrn Dad Sony promised to give 24 hour battery on XB 31 but it literally gives about 4-5 hour with or without lights off in real life performance playing songs at 50% volume I wonder is the XB 32 battery life near to 24 hour ? or like that as they promise?

I Just buy the xb32 on Bestbuy, first i hear the xb31 and it sounds good, when I hear the xb32 it was amazing the clear sound and the bass the xb32 has, 100% better than xb31 in all aspects and in the design is better too.

I got the xb41 its okay for me

XB31 is affected by a buzzing issue that starts after a few months. It is a known issue and a common problem. It happened to my XB31 too, I took it to the repair service and they changed it for a brand new XB32. I loved my 31, I hope I'll enjoy the 32 the same (and that I it won't fail after some time).

To me the 31 sounds a little better.

Holding onto my xb31 & 21. Not worth the so-called upgrade. Luv my Sonny speakers tho.👍💪🏼

Yeah but it needs to be a low power source like a USB port on your PC, Mine lasts way over 2 hours and I've had mine since before the official launch.
