i found with the Sound Centre on phone helps with the bass, mids and treble a lot as each can be changed. turning off the Extra Bass mode as well, sounds much better than the JBL Xtreme overall (i own both). i picked my XB41 up for AU$202 down from AU$279

Returned my xb40 to get the XB41 today. No regrets, way much better in terms of appearance, higher mids, blue tooth connectivity, just everything about the 41 was a much better upgrade.

ImBAD shah you’re right not bass, but it sounds a lot more muffled than the XB41. For me, I’d rather have higher mids over bass, that’s my preference.

Well you can change Equalizer from settings in sony speakers, so turning down bass and turning up mids and highs shouldn't be a problem. Also i like the design of new speakers much more. Older ones looked so old fashioned

I have confussion about the comparison of xb 40 and xb41. I cant decide which I want to buy. The xb 40 costs 120 € and xb 41 costs 170 €. So that is a 50 euro gap between those two . And the difference between them is that xb 41 is a little bit louder, has better LED and built - up quality, full water resistance and micro USB charge port. It has a terrible live sound mode, but I do not really care, I am kinda a party guy and all I want to have is BASS. I dont know if these features are enough to pay 50 € (57 USD) more. Could you please help me to decide? Also I heard some rumours that xb 41 turns off bass boost when it reaches maximum volume of the speaker ( 100) . Is it true?

I have last year's model, the Sony xb40. Bought this year's update, the xb41, while I love the full waterproofing and the new design, it's too muffled compared to the xb40. (yes, I use the app equalizer to bump up the treble & mids) I returned to Best Buy. I then bought a secondary xb40 from someone on Facebook Marketplace for $150, stereo sound now with both-it's AWESOME. Now I just seen at Costco they have a pallet of these Sony xb40's for only $109.99!! What a deal!

Before I got the srs-x77 and now I got xb41 which is much better and I love it. Especially outside the sound is loud and hearable from long distance. Srs-x77 has a subwoofer and tweeter so voice was more clear and it was better for movies but still I don't regret this change. XB41 is more enjoyable so go and get it 💪💪💪

As much of a douche I'm going to sound for this but, not buying the speaker would be the only way to fix it. It's not an issue it's a battery saving problem nobody wanted. I have the xb30 and I used to hate it but I've come to terms with it and appreciate knowing the battery is dying without an annoying voice telling me recharge battery or X% battery remaining every time it goes down 1%.

Is that the Xperia Z2 Tablet? ☺

You are most dumbest guy ever you don't even know what music is I use marshalls and Bose dude , I pick sony xb40 for the realistic sound there jbls always feels like someone has installed an eq on them where's the mid and lows on them , sony makes the best sounding devices at affordable end the audio feels near to my marshalls ( near by 75%) but hey consider the price marshalls are thrice expensive than sony as well as Bose , jbls are like okey okey but I do like Harman kardon their parent brand

Sound the same. I wouldn’t spend the money on 41. I have the 40 and I love it. And I like the style of the body better on the 40 than 41.

The 41 is slightly louder than the 40, slightly less distortion, slightly less treble, and it's waterproof. I would definitely get the 41 over the Xtreme

Beacuse, you know, xb41 has nice bass, but I need deep bass, even on max, so it can produce it? And I've heard many bad opinions about xb41, it lacks more treble than older one, it's even worse than last year model... After that i'm confused. And my colleagues tell to me: you have to take Jbl Xtreme! It has a clear sound, something Sony has never done with its products. Meegabyte Studio I bought the xb41, and it sounds really nice. Btw it isn't as muffled as people say. I wasn't able to hear the xb40 in person, but from what I've heard, it sounds pretty similar to the 41. The jbl Xtreme has adequate highs, but it lacks the low bass notes, and often comes over sounding boomy and not very nice. And don't forget about the battery problems with the Xtreme, I wouldn't take the risk with it. To he honest, getting either the 40 or 41, you won't be disappointed, they are both very good speakers.

I got the sony xb31 and charge 3,,personally i like the charge 3 its battery life is awesome i can get easily 15hrs at 50% volume unlike the xb31 only 7hrs :(

@@TrendingPendingVideos i have the jbl xtreme 2 and recommend it than the xtreme 1,,it has deeper bass better sound and the tweeter at high levels is not ear piercing compared to the xtreme 1 does not distort at all,,my xb31 is good but it clearly lacking in highs the equalizer does not help at all, i also notice slight distortion,,although is has better bass than my charge 3, i still like the charge 3 better because it has more open sound

I have xb 41 and if you really hear it then its better and live sound mode isnt really good.

Im very surprised, i do have the 41but thats besides the point. Im listening with bose qc35 headphones and the 41 seems to have worst highs out of the two xtreme and 40 but the mids and bass on the 41 sound better than the xtreme and the 40. and the 41 is the loudest of em all even tho the xtreme has the best highs

yo jbl fan guys!!! wonder if discos would be only made of speakers and not lights!!! so in music world you need some fun and wow effect which can only be by lighting effects!!..i was jbl fan too until i found this sony one box enough to be disco guy!! sony xb40 and 41 is wonder..imagine you are listening your songs on xb40/41 in dark, and when it gloes with electronic music or something oomph....hell yeah its a big yes for sony!!! ALL THE WAY SONY!!!!

Time to upgrade the mic.

Xtreme has good treble, but I prefer Sony. Xb40 might even be a bit better in sound. But in other categories xb41 is better and I prefer it.

To end this war , I'm an audiophile and I always listen with marshals and Bose devices and my pick in 2019 is still sony srs xb40 out of anything out there under this sub $200 buck thing , if you care about sound go with sony they are affordable ( not so but still compared to Bose , beats and marshalls ) marshalls

dissagree the driver strobes are sick lol i had the 31 and 41 side by side cause i couldnt decide what was the better value and i couldnt come up with anything good enough to return the 41 over the 31 side by side the 41 is just so sick

Ashima Mahajan not really, in person it's more noticeable that the xb41 is better than the xb40. Hense why I purchased the 41 instead. It was funny, because I had all intentions of getting the 40, but when I heard the 41, I couldn't make up my mind. So I went with my gut, and got the 41.

XB41 is a huge failure. If you need to play on high volume for a party, you will only get 4 hours maximum and the speaker automatically drops to low volume. And the worst design failure is the speaker does not play on high volume if you plug it into an outlet. You are stuck waiting 5 hours charging before you can use the speaker normally.

Just because you did not charge it fully before your long ass party does not mean it's a failure. Mine is great and long lasting during parties, etc.

HR-Vex Uhg, mine was fully charged! It doesn’t last more than 5 hours on high volume. Look at Amazon reviewers with people reporting same problems. The issue is not even with battery capacity but the fact that once the battery is at 50% the speaker automatically switches to low volume but you can’t play on high volume when the speaker is plugged in and charging. You have to wait for full recharge to play on high again.

charlie reed 50 dollars more than the speaker its competing with the XB41. The 3 year old Xtreme still holds up now and the second gen will be better in every way.

o War Eagle o no be honest, it really won't be a drastic change. They claimed "more bass", and new drivers, all that means is more sound distortion. The only real upgrade is the new drivers, ip67 waterproof (XB41 has it too) and a bottle opener in the shoulder strap. DATS IT. It's going to be over hyped and overpriced.

@@TrendingPendingVideos xtreme 2 is better for bass cuz it goes lower. The xtreme 1 just has louder bass. If you listen to music with lower bass go for the xtreme 2, if you want a louder bass then xtreme 1. Also some key notes to take in is the xtreme 2 is less loud but way more balanced, while xtreme 1 is louder but less balanced and at times the highs and lows drown out the mids. Either way you will enjoy the bass but that is up to you.
