Hi, Ken. Longtime viewer but new subscriber here. I respect your decision not to back down from those trying to bully you into not using a product you'd like to use. I am trying to avoid made in China products where possible but I won't be bullying or "unfriending' those who share a different view. Decisions on how someone spends their money are personal. I really enjoy watching your videos. It's about time for me to buy a new shave soap/cream, aftershave, and some new blades. All the products you try have given me a lot to think about!

I just ordered some stuff from west coast shaving. Captain's choice bay rum after shave, captain's choice shave soap lime, and Stirling Soap company shave soap Margaritas in the Arctic. Can't wait to try those new soaps. I usually use the proraso green.

My first DE (after 25 years of cartridge use) is an Edwin Jagger DE86. Not too aggressive and perfect for someone who, like me, is out of practice. I also have a Yaqi open comb razor but on reflection don't have sufficiently thick beard growth to use it. I use it with Astra Platinum green blades but have just bought Voskhod Teflon coated blades. I would like a longer handle on my EJ.

Hi Ken, i always hand apply my shaving cream after i have sat in a hot bath for 15 mins. Then i get the brush to work on my growth to really soften the beast. I know you have warned us previously but those Feathers are lethally sharp ! Only done 2 wet shaves that where not cartridge or straight razor but the closeness with my Muhle R41 is almost unbelievable. I am a Polo Green Man and it is becoming more difficult to get but the "burn" is bordering on S&M !

I think it is possible that the blades are actually made by Gilette. The Silver Blues are made in St. Petersburg, Russia as well.

Nice shaving video, Paul I usually use Derby blade in this razor and get a very nice shave but with feather blade I get nicks most of the times, when I purchased this razor only silver color was available so I had no other option except to buy that, I think the whole Stainless Steel knurled handle razor looks better as the other handles are of Aluminum, anyway the shaving quality of all the EJ 316 razors is similar as the head is the same👍👍👍

Sorry to hear that you lost subscribers due to what you review. I try and avoid buying anything made in China and I have a rocky relationship with modern Gillette but I still enjoy the reviews of those products once in awhile. I find it odd that people get so angry over small things..maybe it is just the internet. Question of the day: Which shaving product to you regret buying or using?

Love my EJ 3ONE6 (also a blue handle), especially with an Astra Green blade. EJ also do a great lime and pomegranate soap. Have you tried any of the Blackbeard’s Revenge products (believe they are rebranded as Dreadnought in the US)? Aftershave- burn baby burn, 🔥😄 Enjoy the wedding.

Love that you review all products from everywhere. Have you tried Crown Shaving Company products. There after shave smell amazing and it has a great burn and there shaving cream is good too. It's a Canadian company. I highly recommend them. Stay safe

I’m with you on the shave cream. What’s the point if you don’t get to use a brush? That’s why I didn’t pick up the Cremo that I saw at Walgreens Thursday. They want you to rub it on as well. Stay safe and try to stay comfortable in that mask and gloves. I think I’m going to have a heatstroke trying to breath through those things.

I still want to buy a EJ 3 One 6. I not happy with the price of the blades either. I will have to stick with my Parker blades 100 for about $10 or Feathers 100 for around $25. Stay Safe and Have a Great Weekend also.

Great stuff again Ken. I would suggest that if a someone 'warns' you as described, they are probably not worth it. You sir, are too much of a gentleman sometimes which is one of the reasons your 'subs' keep growing. Please just keep doing what you do. The formula works.

I was thinking the same thing Ken! I was wondering if the Nacets which are made in Russia are the same as the King C Gillette Blades just repackaged. I just did a video and mentioned that. Maybe you can compare them. I would do it, but those blades haven't arrived yet to the Walgreens in Puerto Rico.

I find that getting the right water/soap ration is tricky. It also depends on the brush, since there are brushes that hold a lot of water, other don't, so is really a trial and error thing.

@@kensurfs Thank you, I'll try it with my next order. T.O.B.S. lathers so well and I just received their Cedarwood which smells fantastic. I also ordered Captain's Choice Nor'Easter based on one of your earlier videos, which has a nice cooling effect.

I always put a few drops of Witch hazel on the brush then face lather and shave . Then rinse with warm then cold water. Splash witch hazel on my face then rub Vitamin E oil on my face and neck. It's a process but you only live once

Hey ken did a shave with the King C Gillette razor with a Gillette platinum blade and it felt very dull and I switched the blade to the King C Gillette blades and it was sharper.... Definitely not the same blade.

Great shave. I heard that someone claimed that the King C Gillette blades are possibly Gillette Nacets, but I don’t know if that’s true or false. My cousin was supposed to have a wedding in Mexico that my dad’s side of the family was invited to, but of course, COVID-19 fucked it up. As a result, we’ll have to wait till after the pandemic ends. Aqua Velva Musk smells nice but a little bit potent for my taste, but it works decent.

I always find Thayers products very good, but like you I like using a brush, but I’d give this cream a go. Do you own a Muhle Rocca razor or have I missed you using it Ken? I just bought the matte finish one and it is a superb piece of shaving kit, truly awesome. Stay safe Ken!

Thayers probably had this made for them, as they're are not soap makers🙄 but still the performance is lacking a little IMHO. I had a EJ 3one6 w/ stainless steel knurl handle🤔 gave it to my son, he likes it so we're all happy. Polo...yes sir, gotta love the burn bro...😬 Nice video, saved me some bucks😉 Enjoy!

I had one but I gave it away as a gift

So I tried that same shaving cream. I didn’t like it. Harder to lather. Thinned our during the shave. Didn’t perform that well at all for me. Tried it numerous times, sadly it’s one I had to give a thumbs down to.... We always see a 2 pass shave.... let’s see that 3rd pass shave!! Also to quote Ben Franklin “Be bold, shave cold!” Want to see you have a cold shave!!! Cold water.... cold water to rinse the razor in!! Basically a freezing razor head while h shave, and ice bucket rinse!! Tbh when I do a cold shave, I get a lot less irritation! But I found a shave oil that gives me way less irritation. 11:04 soap in the ear???!!!

My beard is very patchy, I think the Muhle R41 is the closest shaver

To me those blades don't feel like Silver Blue, Astra, or Platinums. It would be nice if Gillette could let us know if it was an actual new blade design. I like them, but not at the price point they're selling at. Have a good weekend!

Ken is it bad I watch your videos and use cartridge? I have DE razors but my neck was broken out really bad and I had to use cartridge and go without shaving for a while and it’s finally cleared up. So I want to get back into using a DE. I’m 21 and wanting to learn to use a DE.

Wetshaving with a cartridge isn't a bad thing. Ultimately you have to go with what you are happy with, if that means shaving with a cartridge, who's position is it to judge.......no one's.👍👍👍

Thank You for the review....I wanted to buy this cream but after seeing how it lathered I am glad I did not buy it. Though it was not available in India...I had to import it if I had to get it. Thank You very much Mr. Ken. Btw in a video I saw you use an Omega boar with a red and clear acyrillic handle. I saw in a local site which said that it had synthetic boar bristles. That site even enlisted the Omega pro 48 in the synthetic boar category. Do you think it can just be a mistake on their behalf or do synthetic boars actually exist ? I want to try a boar in the near future.
